So How the Hell Do You Use This Thing?
The gallery was in complete chaos.
And so it went. The gallery members were like cavemen who had just discovered fire—they genuinely didn't know how to use a scroll.
Anyone with eyes could tell how to use it at a glance! People from the other world would probably be so frustrated they'd be clutching their chests. Or maybe they already were?
I had been planning to send the Parkmiup rewards and then get some sleep.
"The instructions are simple."
A scroll is just a spell that's been converted into written characters and copied onto paper. As long as you understand what the spell means, you can use it. It's not hard.
Since it's a teleport scroll, just picture where you want to go, then tear it. You'll get moved there roughly. Other scrolls work similarly. The only downside is that it's short-range, so there are limits.
Muggle Moim is....
So that's what happened to Muggle Moim. I hadn't paid any attention from the start, so I didn't know.
"Anyway, I told them how to use it. They should be able to use it properly in dangerous situations."
But suddenly, a loud zing! sound rang out from outside the window. It wasn't just once or twice.
"That's the sound of teleportation, isn't it?"
I opened the window. Far off in the distance, flashes of light were going off everywhere.
"No fucking way! Don't tell me the gallery members!!"
I hurriedly opened the gallery again.
Have you tried using a scroll yet? The second you tear it—shwoong! Your body suddenly goes whoosh! Then there's a flash of light! And you actually teleport!!! (Rough photo of some weird neighborhood.JPG)
But... where the hell am I.... Fuck....
I was imagining running across the dry sky.... and fell.... Looks like I broke my leg.... For real lol. The gallery is full of nothing but braindead idiots.
This isn't what I gave them the scrolls for.... The porter's sincere feelings are being tarnished. I told them to use it in emergencies!!
I honestly didn't think we'd get to use items like this.... It's been so long since our exhausted gallery members, who are always busy closing gates and hunting monsters, looked this happy....
So.... give us one more.
"Right. I need to send the Parkmiup rewards."
Between the scrolls I gave to the gallery members, the ranking rewards for the Parkmiup participants, and the A-rank reward for the D-class Porter, I had no points left.
I had already bought the Parkmiup rewards so that was fine, but at this rate the potion points for tomorrow's upload would be pretty tight?
[Current Points: 5203]
Huh? Why is there so much left? What happened? Did the points get refunded?
I checked my status window.
Without me realizing, a new skill had been unlocked.
Influence
Exert more positive influence on hunters in the gallery! The more positive influence you exert, the more points you will receive!
That's right. It was a different kind of skill from the task-based quests. The more influence I exerted on the gallery members through big events like Parkmiup, the more points would be duplicated. It was a skill that opened at the perfect time.
There was a limit to how many points I could earn by deleting cast screenshots. With this, I could worry a little less going forward. It would also be easier to hold events like this in the future. I still didn't know exactly how many points it gave, so I'd have to keep an eye on it.
The D-class Porter had been strangely quiet in the admin chat, but it turned out he was communicating with the gallery members. Come to think of it, I'd only ever seen him doing his concept act. I'd never actually heard any of his stories.
It was a simple request to take care of some gnolls. After we finished the request and were on our way back, we decided to take a short break. One hunter asked for water, so I gave him some. But it was water that had been heated with fire magic. The hunter who drank it went "Ah! It's hot!"
Another hunter who had gone off to smoke a cigarette must have heard that as "Yai tteigeo! (It's an ambush!)" in gnoll language.... He launched a fireball toward the first hunter. The hunter who was drinking water burned to death....
The third hunter who had been watching this ran at the second hunter yelling "You're a villain!".... But the third hunter tripped, broke his neck and died, and the second hunter who saw that got so shocked he fell backwards and died too....
It's 100% a true story....
It was too realistic to be a novel. So was the concept thing actually real? Did the porter really go through stuff like this every day? That was.... a bit.... actually harsh.... Was his luck just insanely bad?
Anyway.
"The reward I had in mind for the porter was...."
◈ "This necklace will protect you from your curse!"
◈ A necklace once used by the great priestess Bersilda. The ego within the necklace tests and chooses its owner. The ego reacts to terrible curses and a holy barrier will always protect the wearer.
◈ - 4500 Points
It was much better equipment than the Frost Sword I had given to Elsa. Bersilda had been the priestess in the hero party I was in. We weren't particularly close, but it was still a pretty useful necklace. It should be able to block most attacks with its barrier.
I didn't think the porter would actually be able to equip the necklace. If he really was only D-class, the moment he put it on he might just go boom. He'd probably end up selling it. He'd figure it out.
But what if the porter actually got chosen by the necklace?
"When should I send it? In the morning? No. I'll just send it now."
Whew. Since I'd sent stuff to the Parkmiup participants as well as the D-class Porter, I could finally get some sleep.
Ju-ddak dove into bed and immediately fell into a deep, honey-like sleep—completely unaware of the massive changes this would bring.
