Perfect Woman (Part 2)
I made my way back to the police station after learning from the library that my main protected one, Luna, was in heat and the new X.
I stood there with my eyes fixed on the swaying bushes, just like those ordinary guys.
**Eyes.**
“Si-Sorry! I-I’m sorry!”
I always thought about it, but when I really thought about who this person was… these people!
What on earth do they think a nun is?!
The problem was that she was the manager of a brothel run by a witch, but she made things even worse by bringing up pointless incidents.
“If it’s just kidnapping or simple missing persons, the police would… no. This is my own mistake.”
“No, it’s not. Everyone knows that the police here are just trash who only take money.”
“Haa. The conditions I receive aren’t bad. Conditions. But there’s no reason I should get involved just because one woman disappeared?”
“That’s why the boss sent more documents along with this.”
I carefully read the documents the employee handed me.
The content started with the continuous disappearances of women beginning with prostitutes, then a merchant’s maid, a hostess, and so on, a timeline of women vanishing in real time.
“At this point, even a trashy police force like this should have moved, right?”
“Because a few of the people who received large bribes had their women disappear, they did move. But their abilities weren’t very good…”
“If it was human traffickers, the witch would have handled it directly long ago.”
“Yes. You’ll understand when you see the last page.”
I passed through the useless data and looked at the several diaries left on the last page.
They all contained entries about meeting “men.”
“In the middle of expressing curiosity and attraction toward the opposite sex, there’s not a single clear description of hair or eye color.”
No matter whether the hair color was such or the eye color was such, not a single embarrassing expression suitable for a woman appeared.
“When something related to mages, demons, or vampires happens, they were afraid of a physical confrontation and asked for help.”
“I didn’t teach anyone that I was staying in this cathedral, did I?”
“I didn’t teach it to vampires either. Unless someone directly found out and told them, no one would know until then.”
I went around the city every night without missing a single night, but even that had its limits when I checked everything alone.
If no one knew that an exorcist priest was staying in this place away from the city center, there was an easy way.
* * *
“It’s delicious.”
Since I needed to move quickly, I ate the sandwich Luna had made for dinner as a substitute and headed toward the police station.
The dark feeling from my exorcist priest’s characteristic black robe coat and the uniform black attire made the night streets quiet.
“Let’s ask something.”
“Hi. Hiiik!”
I approached the owner of a nearby shop and caused a scene.
Am I that scary?
“Did you make a contract with a demon? You’re all afraid of everything.”
“Ah, no! I definitely didn’t!”
“Is this the police station?”
There was a sign, so I followed it, but from the outside, it didn’t look like a police station at all.
What kind of police station looks like a brothel where they do prostitution?
“Y-Yes! It is!”
“Are there even police here? Everywhere I look, there are just prostitutes.”
“Th-That’s because since the former chief, they’ve been bringing women here just to meet them to avoid moving themselves…”
“…”
The sun told us to be fruitful and multiply, not to get drenched in lust.
In a place like this where they create and live in filth, it was even more surprising that I hadn’t seen any succubus-type women while I’d been wandering around.
“Since we’re here, let’s try one more time just in case.”
“Yes.”
“Is there even a mayor in this city?”
“He is there, but…”
According to the shop owner, it was called the pig market.
The police chief and the people controlling the city’s darkness, and most of those who came here were degraded people, so they apparently didn’t even think of improving it?
“Haa. First, tell everyone not to come near the police station tonight.”
“Yes. Yes!”
I thought he was a lost cause, but I had no idea he was on the level of garbage.
I walked into a place that was either a police station or a brothel where endless sounds of women’s moans and men’s low conversations could be heard.
At the entrance, two burly men with prisoner tattoos drawn on both arms, instead of polite police officers welcoming citizens who came to ask for help.
“This isn’t a place for priest-nim to play. Get out.”
“Hmm.”
Unlike the one with the tight head who avoided my gaze, something felt off.
“Hey. Is that you?”
“T-That…”
“Answer.”
“T-That’s… I’ll see you again after eating rice south of here!”
“Then what should I do?”
“Take your time!”
The guy ran off without looking back.
When I looked at the other one, he seemed to feel something was wrong.
“Am I going in, or will you stop me?”
He’d be in a dilemma.
If I stopped him, he’d be X, and if I didn’t, he’d be X either way.
“Please be gentle…”
“Wow. You have good instincts? You’ll live a long time.”
After giving him a light pat on the head as praise.
I grabbed his head and slammed it against the nicely made wooden door.
**Bang!**
It didn’t break through, but when the goal was destroyed, there was no big pain.
Instead, the impact was strong, so it probably worked as I wanted.
After the job of stopping him at the door was done and I let go of his head, he fell on his own.
He’d really live a long time.
When I entered the now quiet police station, the scene was ridiculous.
The ones claiming to be police were in weird police cosplay with women they were biting and sucking, and it was a mess.
It seemed they were handling cheap drugs as well as alcohol, and the smell was terrible.
“Here. Pay attention. As you can see, I’m an exorcist priest. I came here because I heard about the continuous disappearances of women. So cooperate.”
If this was a proper police station, they wouldn’t do this.
They were people who worked with their lives on the line, and they should at least show basic courtesy, right?
“Chief… hmph?”
**Knock knock**
Just as I thought a bear had come out of nowhere in the city, a guy with one head bigger than the burly ones appeared.
By his size or the lush fur on his chest, he seemed to be a norsman known as the berserker berserk.
But why did that bastard take off his upper body to dirty my eyes?
“Get out.”
“Hmm. No.”
**Crack**
I kicked his Achilles tendon with a sharp kick.
The big guy fell over and tried to scream, and I put one precious grenade in his mouth.
“U-Urgh!”
“This only has three, so I have to be careful. So should I bite it all the way through?”
I pulled the pin and made sure the safety didn’t come out of his mouth.
Since he was big, his bite force should be strong, but it worked perfectly.
“But don’t bite too hard. If you get annoyed and piss me off… you know?”
“U-Uugh!”
Sigh. Because of his size, his fear was too much and even tears welled up.
“If you don’t want the building blown up, come out, chief.”
This place that was quiet like water was poured on it, whether it was a police station or a brothel.
The chief with the typical corrupt manager face staggered out.
“E-Even an exorcist priest, this kind of behavior is too much!”
“According to imperial law, nobles and those with corresponding high positions must not ignore evil and sin?”
I heard it was an item that had to be kept even in the old days when the Homeros and current pope were in place and the former emperor was in power.
“It’s… that’s…”
“Let’s do it nicely. Don’t you think so, bear cub?”
“Uuu! Urgh!”
He was a really kind kid. Because he was a stranger, he had been on guard, but he had a good heart.
As a reward, I stuck the pin back in and pulled out the grenade.
“Haa. Haa.”
“Are you going to fight more?”
“Ah, no!”
“Here. Then will the chief cooperate? You can fight if you want, but by the way, you won’t be able to run around on the scene, so I’ll kill you, so remember that.”
Private enforcement by an exorcist priest was something to avoid, but if they attacked first, it was an exception.
He introduced himself as an exorcist priest just like the advertisement and wore the attire, but he tried to fight?
Then the simple conclusion was that he was someone you could kill.
“I-I’ll cooperate.”
“That’s right. Then women will come out wearing clothes, and police officers with badges will be cleaned up immediately and gathered. The standard will be our bear cub X.”
He was a guy who would be visible from far away, so he was a perfect standard.
The cleaning was done in an instant.
The women quickly put on their clothes and left, and even though they had some sense, they were forced to move by hitting the drunk guys with alcohol and drugs.
Before ten minutes were up, the police station building was somewhat cleaned.
Of course, there were traces everywhere, but it was enough to deliver the instructions.
“I heard you moved because women were disappearing recently. Which one of you did the questioning?”
A few raised their hands, fidgeting.
They were the ones whose clothing and skin color were the cleanest among the ones drunk on alcohol and drugs.
“T-That’s me.”
“Result of the questioning? You didn’t find them, so don’t be scared.”
“The victims were too varied, so I thought it was human trafficking, but it wasn’t. That…”
I know. What kind of things are being done behind here.
“Yes. When I asked about that, they said they didn’t make debts to drag them according to the contract, so they wouldn’t leave marks.”
The slaves here were in an ambiguous boundary between illegal and legal.
Making slaves through kidnapping or war was illegal, but selling one’s body to repay debts to become a slave oneself was legal.
“It takes time, but it’s better than disappearing into the dust of the gallows. Anything else?”
“I looked into it as serial murder, but no.”
It wouldn’t be.
Murder was one of the greatest sins humans could commit, and it was the best way to spread terror around.
It was the easiest thing for demons to gather power, and demons and their followers never hid murders.
“Seems like we reached a conclusion. Why didn’t you take action?”
“T-That…”
The people in charge of the case were checking their surroundings.
“Haa. Is it the sewers?”
“Yes. Probably needed some manpower or effort, and this sewer here is really…”
“Dangerous?”
This time, all the police, including the bear cub, nodded.
It was annoying, but I understood.
Even on Earth, when corpses or criminals are discovered, rumors spread, so what would it be like here?
Even witches wrote that the succubi were too dead, so the sewers were a place they couldn’t search.
“Good. There should be a sewer guide, right?”
“Yes.”
“I’ll come again tomorrow, so find hidden places using the sewer map.”
“Yes? If I think about the whole city, it will take…!”
“Should we go together?”
Go together and face death? Or just get a headache?
The police, faced with a too obvious choice, chose to gather and discuss it.
* * *
Low-light fluorescent lights illuminated the laboratory’s view.
In the somewhere stuffy laboratory, only one person was moving.
“Haa. If it’s her, she’ll definitely become the perfect woman. She was human, but she wasn’t human. Don’t you think so?”
In the test tubes, there was liquid, and inside, women were.
A woman who had her skin forced out with leather.
A woman whose belly was split open after Alaurune’s seed sprouted.
A woman who was human in body but siren from neck to face.
And there were many other women who had come to death in horrific forms.
“Ah. Aaa…”
“Oh. She’s still not dead. Sorry, but you’re a failed product too.”
A woman breathed her last words on the operating table.
“As expected. I have to take her. Just her is enough, better than that clock tower.”
**Fwoosh**
The woman’s body was burned on the operating table as if it had no value even as a sample.
Green hair shone in the rising flames.
