Should We Blame the Admins or the Devs?
On top of that, it was becoming clear that even the veterans were getting thoroughly wrecked by the update the admins had shoved down everyone's throats.

This is the guy who barely managed to bail after his base got wiped last time.
Those fucking bastards just demolished my precious resource mining ship…
Reality is hitting me like a truck right now.
If logging out was even an option, I'd have rage-quit already and gone the hell to sleep.
When even stories this pitiful started rolling in, the friction between users settled down almost instantly.
And then, as the finishing touch…

Heh.
By posting my own losses, I drove home the idea that we were all in the same boat — especially for the ones who used to throw a fit at me over every little thing.
While I was at it, I also tried to plant the idea that I had suffered the most…

Shut the hell up, meow
"Whoa."
Some even more unhinged friend had shown up, and unfortunately, that little plan of mine collapsed on the spot.
Tip posts never quite go the way you want them to, as it turns out.
Beyond all that, the gallery and chat windows were ringing with the death throes of users everywhere. Veterans who couldn't stand watching the pitiful newbies any longer started writing tip posts for the ones who kept charging in without a clue.
But every last one of those tip posts had its own awkward little problems.
[A massive Orthoceras-type kaiju charging forward while eating missiles and shellfire]
The thing about these bastards is that outside of a few 'ships,' they either have no ranged weapons at all, or the ones they do have are complete garbage.
The trade-off is that the second you let them into melee range, you can just assume your entire fleet is getting carved up.
On top of that, their bio-armor is ridiculously tough — like in that proof shot, standard small-ship firepower can't even stop them lmao
Either kite your ass off while dumping firepower into them and control your way to a kill, or slap a piece of gear called a 'Heavy Torpedo' from the gacha onto your ships and fire those. They do meaningful damage up through mid-size kaiju.
Small ones can one-shot explode if you land it clean, yeah.
[Space Kaiju images]
First off, keep in mind that this info came from veterans, so it may change with future updates.
The single most important thing you need to know: with the fleets players have right now, you must absolutely avoid melee combat with Space Kaiju.
Unless you're running dozens of PvP or large-scale combat supers and stationing one on every ship — if you're not, your fleet is just iron-supplement feed for the Space Kaiju.
Small Kaiju: Size ranges from escort to destroyer.
The smallest units in Space Kaiju fleets. Weapons are basically just claws and tentacles.
But their frontal armor is tougher than an armored heavy destroyer's, so when they push in, the turrets and small interceptor missiles on your light ships don't even leave a scratch.
They will die in one hit if they take a direct cruiser-grade main gun shot, or one of those Heavy Torpedoes mentioned in other posts.
Mid-size Kaiju: Roughly cruiser-sized, though it varies by individual.
These are the actual main force of the Space Kaiju.
Ranged weapons start showing up from this tier, but it's literally just for show — all that bulk and they get a single plasma breath bolted on.
In exchange, the armor gets even tougher. Frontal plating is legit battleship-tier.
So for players right now, the only ways to punch through one from the front are dumping dozens of Heavy Torpedoes in a simultaneous volley, or using the firepower-type and assault-type cruisers from the gacha. That's it.
Large Kaiju: Minimum battleship size and up.
From here on, if you run into one in the current meta, chant it with me: you are all dead.
The only firepower that can crack these bastards from the front belongs to pure firepower-type characters among the already absurdly rare SSS-grade units that drop at godawful rates.
They are slower than the other kaiju, so throwing a capital ship out as bait and circling around to beat on them from behind is one option — but you know what these things always come with, right? A shitload of escort ships nearby. Yeah.
Colossal Kaiju: Bigger than Large Kaiju at minimum.
More precisely, bigger than a dreadnought or a carrier — but none of you have ever seen either of those, so just take it as 'really fucking big.'
Basically a super-battleship version of a kaiju.
The ranged firepower that normal kaiju lack? Loaded. Armor? Ridiculously tough. Melee? Also great at it.
Only real weakness is being slow, but for ships this massive, being slow barely means anything.
Queen Kaiju: Bigger than the above.
The aviation-battleship version of a kaiju.
Except it's a broken ship that does both carrier and battleship jobs well, and its performance is completely off the rails.
It auto-heals nearby kaiju fleets, and given enough time it just starts freely producing more fleets. Yeah.
You're not going to be seeing one of these anytime soon, but if you do?
Write off that entire fleet. You are not saving it.
Its own performance is one thing, but its bio-radar tracking is so insane that if the fleet that attacked it tries to run, it will chase them to the ends of the universe and smash every last one of them.
And if another fleet happens to be nearby? That one gets destroyed too.
Oh, and beyond all that, there are humanoid kaiju that correspond to player supers, plus a bunch of other weird stuff.
The humanoid ones all look lewd as hell. It's distracting.
