A Week of Pure Spectacle
While some people drew blanks from the Hibernation Capsule event — which only triggered at a fairly low probability — and became the gallery's laughingstock…
…there were also users who obtained superhumans I never got, simply because I'd quite literally shredded through the ship's interior early on.
Of course, among them were the occasional fools who tried to pull a so-called flex, only to become fresh punching bags the moment people found out their character was trash.
And right in the middle of all that, a whole crowd of users started popping up asking whether they could claim that massive derelict for themselves…
It wasn't even about big guns on big ships. For the players who simply loved giant vessels for their own sake, the merciless violence of cold, hard facts hit like a truck.
And then, on the day before the grand event finally ended—
A single commander, trapped without a comm unit, had awakened some hidden warrior-race talent buried inside him. Using nothing but basic implants and scavenged tools, he'd spent an entire week alone inside that colossal ghost ship and walked out alive — a full-blown demonstration of what an "anomalous survival specimen" looked like.
Truly, the entire week had been one spectacular show after another, in every flavor imaginable.
Anyway. After spending that week in such leisurely fashion, the final day of the event at last arrived.
> 'Colossal Derelict' — Zone Remaining Time
> 1 Hour 4 Minutes 20 Seconds
The wreck we'd grown rather attached to over the past week was finally about to leave our zone.
"Commander. Commander."
"Yeah, what is it now."
"Resource extraction from the derelict is almost done — about ninety-eight percent?"
"Fast work."
I finished the breakfast our base chef had prepared at a leisurely pace, then nodded at Jessica's report as she arrived at just the right moment.
"So how much have we pulled in total?"
"It's incredible! Minerals alone hit five hundred ten thousand, and we got forty thousand in rare resources too!"
"Oh…"
Realizing we'd hauled in far more than expected, I felt a wide grin spread across my face — the same one Jessica was wearing.
Hell yeah.
Of course, a meal table wasn't the place for a detailed resource breakdown. I headed straight for the command center to get a fuller report there.
The moment I settled into the command seat, our black bunny bunny Jessica immediately laid out the precise acquisition figures.
"Resources obtained from the derelict this time: minerals totaling 510,338, rare resources at 40,087."
"Oho."
"And from what appears to have been the captain's vault inside the wreck, we also picked up about five thousand Gold."
"Ooooh…"
At Jessica's words, I ran the numbers on everything we'd gained over the past week.
"So over this week alone, we've pulled in roughly six hundred fifty thousand in minerals and about a hundred thousand in rare resources?"
"Yes, right around that."
"…Outstanding."
With this, if we continued gathering resources over the roughly two weeks remaining—
