How to Live Day by Day (1)
Looking at her—the very person responsible for all of this—I felt a tangle of complicated, bittersweet emotions rise up inside me.
But just because I felt that way didn't mean I could stand around gawking forever.
"Let's head to the command center first and talk this through properly."
"Understood, Commander."
Together with the newly arrived Belial, I led everyone to the command center for a proper conversation.
A short while later.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, senior."
"Hmm... and your name is?"
"You can call me Ignis, Ms. Belial."
"Nice to meet you, Ms. Belial~ I used to owe you quite a lot back in the day... ♡"
"Hmm..."
Seated in my personal chair at the center of the command post, I watched the three women chat among themselves while reviewing the status of various quests.
It wasn't like we were under attack right this second. And unlike with Ignis, I didn't know any exploits for leveling up the newly acquired Pashtura or Belial. So while the three of them carried on with their girl talk, I went through the daily quests and other tasks, checking them off one by one.
The daily quests were progressing as uneventfully as ever.
The resource mining ships ran on autopilot, so the resource quests more or less solved themselves if I just left them alone. As for the ship construction quest—following a community post I'd read last time—I was building one ship every time the cooldown came up, since there was no telling when a large-scale assault might come barreling in.
Decommissioning an obsolete ship was meaningless right now; every single vessel was precious. And as for base upgrades...
Is this really all that's left already?
No matter how you looked at it, these clearly belonged in the regular quest category rather than daily quests. But thanks to the developer's incomprehensible design philosophy, this was just how things were.
I lifted my head and glanced ahead.
—chatter chatter chatter chatter—
Hmm.
It looked like the girl talk was going to keep going for a while. I lowered my head again and refocused on these damn quests.

Quests. They're piling up.
Confirming that the girl talk was still going strong, I decided to keep working through the daily quests while also clearing out the backlog that had been stacking up—and dig through everything I hadn't properly looked at until now.
The moment that thought crossed my mind—
> Resource Mining ×10 — COMPLETE!
Hmm?
An alert popped up out of nowhere, so I checked the quest status again first.
> Ship Construction Quest — COMPLETE!
Oh.
Another quest cleared while I wasn't even looking. I found myself nodding in satisfaction.
Looks like even I get a sunny day once in a while.
Sure, if you looked at it objectively, these were nothing special—just ordinary, everyday successes. But compared to how everything had been going spectacularly wrong until yesterday, things had been flowing smoothly since morning. And somehow, even little wins like these were enough to make me genuinely happy.
With that thought, I turned back to the decision I'd been putting off earlier—the base upgrade.
Hmm. Expanding ship production capacity first is probably the smart move, right?
> Shipyard (300) — SELECTED
> Proceed with construction? Y/N
Cursing this damn game for not letting me run multiple base upgrades at once, I made my choice.
Yeees.
I immediately greenlit the shipyard construction. After that, my thoughts drifted to the other headache: the Superhuman Upgrade.
Ah, damn it. I completely forgot.
The problem was those three women currently busy with their girl talk—or more precisely, the two characters other than Ignis. I had absolutely no idea how to level them up.
If this damn game worked like most others—where you could just stuff experience items into a character and call it a day—that would be one thing. But our base warehouse had nothing of the sort. Without those, the only options were the classic route of grinding combat experience, or finding some kind of exploit like the one we'd used with Ignis.
The real question was how to apply that kind of exploit to Pashtura or Belial.
I still had a faint recollection of their basic attack patterns and combat styles rattling around in my head, but that alone wasn't enough.
"Hmm... Jessica?"
"Yes, Commander."
"I'm trying to level up Pashtura and Belial. Any decent methods come to mind?"
"Well... I've given it some thought myself, but honestly, I'm not sure either."
Using them for mineral mining the way we did with Ignis was a non-starter—their stamina just wasn't built for it. After turning the problem over and over, I finally landed on the simplest possible solution.
Wait. I can just ask the community.
With a thoroughly ironic sense of pride at how quickly I'd figured that out, I opened the status window—no, the community window—that I'd folded up and tossed into a corner, and started writing a post.

Managed to pull both characters somehow, but I have zero clue how to raise these two.
Fr urgent.
How do I train them so people start saying I did it right?
Yeah, that should do it.
