Don't Block My Work, Team Leader?
"Don't block my business, Team Leader? Did you crawl out from some corporate office? The vibe she's giving off, the clothes she's wearing, her overall skin tone, and even her looks—they're fundamentally different from the factory scum living in this shithole."
Such an out-of-place person would've stood out the moment she walked in, but how the hell did she make it all the way to the middle of the industrial complex?
"You've got a face full of questions. I heard you weren't the type to nitpick over that sort of thing."
"…."
Danto snapped out of it at the words from Im Sua—disguised(?) as Team Leader Lee—and strode over, plopping down on the opposite side of the table.
Lee Go-hyang was alone, while Im Sua had five people with her, but she wasn't particularly scared. This kind of setup was familiar, and besides, she was here to take the job in the first place.
"I heard you specifically requested me. Something about land deeds?"
"Ah~? Yeah, pretty much. I did think it was kinda weird. Hoarding stuff you don't even need. You're no hamster."
"Base fee for the job is ten million credits. Any extras depend on what you need."
"What about the land deed discount?"
"That rate depends on the details too."
"Hmm~."
Im Sua twirled a strand of her specially bleached and waved hair around her finger with her right hand for today's mission. Something was slightly bothering her. Like Danto's attitude, for instance. Blunt and casual like they'd known each other forever—hell, to a client, no less. But she held it in for now.
"You didn't hear anything from these folks about the job?"
"Nope. Not a word. Usually means it's a top-secret client. Even the club relaying it knows jack shit."
"Yeah. This club doesn't know what our job is either."
As she spoke, Sua scanned Danto's figure. Her chest was ridiculously small, but her overall lines were killer. Especially those thighs—slim yet firm and plump, with just the right amount of toned muscle. Perfect match for Mu-yeol's taste in long, sleek legs.
'Chest is obviously bandaged up. Trying to fool a cop, huh.'
But it didn't look like total flatness. If she had to bind them that tight, they'd be a real hassle in motion—and flat girls didn't have that problem. Meant they were at least big enough to get in the way.
'Chest and body pass. Just the face left.'
True to her nickname, Danto wore a cat mask. Not some basic thing—it connected to her full-body suit, completely hiding even her profile. No cop instinct could crack that.
But—
If instinct failed, science had her back. Sua's implanted cornea scanned Danto's mask at her command.
Of course, Go-hyang's mask had top-tier anti-recognition and intrusion firewalls available in the complex. But that was just gutter-level tech from a criminal den. Nowhere near enough to block the bleeding-edge implant from Militaris HQ.
It didn't even detect the scan. Danto's—Lee Go-hyang's—face flashed straight into Sua's brain.
'Hm. Pass.'
Face was solid too. Felt a tad off from Mu-yeol's usual type, but who knew? Nothing like it had been around him yet. He might love it once she dragged her back.
Just to be sure, she scanned the body too. Cop instincts didn't lie. Tight bandages confirmed it—big tits.
'Attitude's the last hurdle...'
Obviously, she couldn't let this bitch act like this in front of him. She'd get beaten black and blue, and Sua might catch some fallout too. She'd already nearly bled out over Ha Eun-young—no way she'd go through that shit again. Not when she'd barely clawed back this chance!
Sua leaned back on the sofa, crossing her legs casually once she'd roughed out a price.
"But first, maybe you should introduce yourself properly?"
"Introduce? Didn't you request me knowing who I am already?"
"Sure, we know the basics. But if we're trusting you with this, shouldn't I hear it straight from you—what you do?"
"Fixer. Name's Lee Go-hyang. Great at quiet jobs."
"Ah~. So that's why the nickname Danto?"
"…Not denying it."
"Why the casual talk since earlier?"
"…I don't do polite speech."
"Ha."
…
Im Sua's job was tracking down the remaining 5% of Namdong Industrial Complex land deed owners. Out of the 23% total deeds in Namdong, excluding Danto's 18%—that last 5%.
She had the full list. Eerily accurate, down to photos, making Go-hyang's spine crawl.
"No need to be on guard. We want the land, sure, but we're buying fair and square. Hired you 'cause we heard you had a ton. You know where these folks are, right?"
"…."
True enough. Go-hyang had hustled hard to grab as much land as possible herself, so she knew everyone holding deeds in Namdong. Just couldn't snag them for her own reasons.
"Tell us where they all are. Once we collect their deeds, we'll buy yours at top dollar. That's the job. Deal?"
"For real…?"
"You live getting scammed? Or you calling us liars? We don't wanna cause a scene here either. You know the saying—money solves everything easiest."
"…."
"Want a contract? But you gonna trust paper? If you're that suspicious, nothing we can do."
"So you're the ones from the rumors? Buying at a grand per pyeong."
"A grand per pyeong?"
Sua burst out laughing. A grand? Even for them, that was insulting.
"That's harsh. We look that shady?"
Sua grinned wide, slapping her palm out in front of Danto's face. A holographic ledger unrolled—transaction history of Namdong land buys: price per pyeong, total pyeong sold.
Danto's face twisted in shock as the auto-scrolling docs flew by.
"This…!"
"Minimum buy price is five grand per pyeong. More pyeong at once, better deal."
Five grand minimum per pyeong. Selling her 500,000 pyeong at that was 2.5 billion. But that wasn't the shock.
'Two million pyeong…?!'
Completed deals: two million pyeong. Namdong's total area was about 2.8 million pyeong. Meaning Im Sua's crew already owned 71%.
Add Go-hyang's 500,000? Nearing 90%.
Could be fake. All doctored. But the prior owners' info was legit, and they knew exactly how much she held. With intel that sharp on the sealed-off complex, they'd have vacuumed up everything outside already.
Last targets: the internal 5% holders.
'They're really doing it…!'
Go-hyang knew instinctively. These people were serious. Massive capital and power beyond her wildest dreams were in motion—the exact scenario she'd always fantasized about.
'Even if I can't eat it, it's still pudding.'
The dream she'd chased her whole life. Escape. Right in front of her.
"One condition."
"…Condition?"
Im Sua's eyebrow twitched.
"Get me… out."
"Out?"
"Yeah. Land price… five grand per pyeong's fine."
"Ho."
"But you have to get me out, no matter what."
"…."
Sua read the desperation through the mask. She smirked coldly.
"You're kinda infamous, y'know. Sneaking out solo's one thing, but hauling a baggage like Danto? Gonna take some serious work."
"That's why I'm taking your minimum price. What you're asking for."
Sua pretended to mull it over. Truth was, now that she'd spotted her, she'd drag the bitch to Mu-yeol by force if needed. Danto's "hope" was as good as done.
"Hm~. Got some conscience after all."
"…."
"Fine. I like clean deals. How's this? No ID, you're just prey with big credits. I'll hook you up—fake ID, place to crash, even a job."
