The Last Leaf (3)
"W-wait...! Hold on, you...!"
"I'm saving her right now! Just stay still!"
I pounded into her relentlessly, spewing bullshit. I'd already saved her, but this was true too. I was saving her. In this state, she couldn't even hold a proper conversation or walk around! She'd turned into a sex-crazed maniac!
The patient in my arms started letting out choked gasps. Not quite a groan or a sob, but somewhere in between—those ragged breaths assaulting my ears. And the way she trembled, the way she clenched...
...She'd gone over the edge? Wait, me too!
"Ngh!"
I crushed the climaxing patient against me and thrust deep inside. Fuuuck, that felt good! Shit, holding back and then slamming in—I blew my load in under three minutes. But I had the power of the bull and the lion. Three minutes was an eternity for her; she'd rocketed miles away.
I took deep breaths, gently laid her down, grabbed her hips, and slowly pulled her toward me, squeezing out every last drop. This was the highlight. Ah, fucking bliss.
Then, barely managing to stand...
...Why was there blood?
"Was she a virgin?"
...No way she could answer. She'd gone too damn far.
"...Fine. She was a virgin. Hey, how old is she anyway?"
"She just turned twenty—no, but, but!"
The doctor shook her head.
"I can't even comprehend what I just saw. Am I dreaming right now?"
"No, I saw the same thing."
"Wh... Huh? Wait, hold on. One thing at a time."
The doctor pressed her temple like her head was throbbing and pointed at my crotch.
"First off, put something on."
"Haha."
I'd been so blissed out, legs spread wide...
"What you saw is exactly what happened. I cured this girl."
"You raped her!"
"And you killed her."
The doctor and nurse shut their mouths.
"Euthanasia, whatever. If you thought it was all over, sure, I get it. Hell, I nearly died becoming a god myself. Anyway, oof. Can't walk straight."
My shorts were tangled at my ankles; I nearly tripped pulling them up. Fucking hell. Pants on, I said,
"You figured everything was done, so kill her and then yourselves. Got it. But hey, I showed up. And I saved her. Yeah, the method looked wild and weird—I admit that. But look. She's alive and kicking, right? I saved her."
I'd been grinning the whole time. Because I felt amazing.
"You two were gonna die too, right? Why? Zombies outside? Not anymore. Take a peek."
The doctor and nurse looked skeptical, glancing at each other. The window was behind me. Not wanting to get too close, they slipped into the opposite room to peer out.
The nurse hurried over and said,
"Sis, the zombies are really gone. But there's... a ton of sand now?"
"...Sand? Hold on."
The doctor went to the other room, looked out, sighed, and came back.
"...There are still zombies out there."
"But the hospital's cleared clean, right?"
Nice room. Even had a fridge. Opened it... empty.
"No water?"
"...Nothing left at all."
"Huh?"
I plopped back on the bed. The patient was finally steadying her breathing—hah, hah. She was coming back down... nah, eyes still half-glazed. Gone too far.
"...You were starving her to death?"
"Yes. We were barely hanging on—"
"How'd you save her?"
The doctor asked gravely.
"That was enough food for five grown men. She couldn't have survived."
"Wanna come check?"
I grinned slyly. They wouldn't get close normally, but doctors gonna doctor. She plugged in her stethoscope, strode over, pressed it to the patient's chest, checked her pulse, touched her forehead.
With the doctor busy, the nurse grabbed the black cuff, wrapped it around the patient's arm, and pumped it up to measure blood pressure.
"How's it look? Can't tell everything, but the cancer's gone. She's a cancer patient, right? Hair all patchy—chemo baldness. Zombies hit, no more treatments, dragged on till now?"
"...How? How did you... how could she even wake up again..."
"I'm a god."
"...No such thing."
"That kinda harsh talk to my face? I'm right here."
I got up, headed to the bathroom. No water. Pipes dead. Obviously.
The nurse and doctor still fussing over the patient.
"...Nothing to drink? Thirsty as hell."
"...Saline bags are gone too. Nothing. But really... you saved her?"
The nurse asked. Ugh, frustrating. I get the shock—first time seeing divine power. And yeah, some random guy shows up, revives the girl they killed, fucks her senseless—surreal as shit.
I'd said it a dozen times. Listen already.
"Saved her, yeah. Look—color's coming back. Face was ghost-white before. Hey, doc. Check her face. Whoa, eyes opening."
The patient barely cracked her eyes. Blinking, taking in her surroundings. Spotting the faces nearby.
"...Wh-what... just happened? It felt like... some weird dream..."
Sweaty from clinging to me—well, soaked down there too—but claiming it was a dream while drenched in sweat? Priceless.
"You really okay?"
"...Lower belly... kinda hurts..."
That's all I needed to hear. I bolted.
What the hell just happened? Simple: this. How's that make sense? Because it does. Quit yapping and get me something to drink while you're at it. We'll eat, drink, then talk. They'd seen and felt it—they'd rationalize it themselves anyway. Whatever.
Start wasn't great. Conversation even possible? ...Fuck if I know. Told the pregnant ladies too—no guarantees. Still... ah, fucked her good and hard. Kinda... wanna bring her to the shrine now. Hugging her stirred some responsibility. Came inside, didn't I? What if she gets pregnant? Gotta bring her home. Talk it over with food and drinks first.
* * *
Four bags stuffed to bursting with drinks and snacks. Level 10 meant plenty of mental energy left—still 11 coins. Levels are OP. Too lazy to walk, rode the lion, bags in both hands, trudging hospital halls.
Reached the room. Door half-open.
"Yo, why no convenience store in Gangnam? That shit was far."
Held up the bags, hopped off the lion, shouldered the door open.
"But that huge mart nearby? Grabbed a ton. Mart closer than the conbini, so—"
"Kyaaah!"
Huh? Why the screams? They were deep in serious talk, from the vibe. Eyes on... ah.
The lion.
Grrrrr—it rumbled low. Like a cat purring, but lion-scale: engine revving. Intimidating as fuck.
"Quiet down. Dismissed."
The lion crumbled to sand and vanished. Oh yeah, I was in Nephkent form. Desummoned—sand poured off me. Opened my eyes.
...Holy shit. Hands heavy. Heavy.
"Ugh, fuck. So heavy. Where to dump this? Floor okay?"
The women weren't even blinking.
...All three dead-eyed stares. Super awkward.
"...Cut the stares, yeah? Kinda overwhelming."
Pulled a cola can, pssh, chugged. Glug glug.
"Aah! That's the stuff. Here."
Grabbed a mini sprite, tossed it.
"Ack!"
"Nice catch."
Thumbs-up to the fumbling nurse, rustled bags, pulled potato chips and a cake box. Plopped on the floor by the bed, ripped open the cake box, bit into one—no chew, just held it. Tore open chips, set beside. Bit the cake, nom nom.
...Eyes burning holes.
Stopped mid-chew, too awkward. Glanced at each woman.
"...What? Oh, me eating alone?"
Stood, perched on bed edge, offered patient a cake pack.
"Want some? Tasty—banana cream inside."
The girl I'd held—voice came out soft without thinking.
"Th-thank... Um, who... are you..."
She fumbled the pack, eyes on me. Widening slowly.
"That face... I saw it in my dream. Not a dream... it was real?"
"Feeling better?"
Grinned, munched, asked.
"No more cancer in you. I fixed it."
"...Huh?"
"That earlier? Not a dream. Kinda... a healing process. Essential for me. But you—no boyfriend?"
"Huh? N-no... never. Lived in hospitals since I was little."
"Hmm... I see."
"Hold on!"
The doctor barked. Scared me.
"Don't just chat casually! Wh-who the hell are you? Seriously, who? That lion—what was it? Not just me, right?"
"I saw it too, sis. Freaked me out."
"Me too. How's a lion here? It crumbled—what was that?"
"My lion. Like a summon."
Casually crunched chips.
The doctor wasn't thrilled.
"That's not—!"
...No need to huff and puff. Hadn't even moved much.
"Lion crumbles, sand from you, dog mask to human—what? Explain! Who are you?"
"...Told you earlier, remember."
Nom nom. Set bag down. Licked salt off fingers. Stood from bed.
Hand on hip. Just because. Other hand forward. Same reason. None.
Then I said,
"Allow a proper introduction. I am a god."
