The Silver Arm and Silken Maids
The maid outfit was incredibly arousing. Time marches on no matter how you hang the clock—today was finally the long-awaited day. The tedious hospital stay was over, and the date for the long-anticipated prosthetic arm attachment surgery had arrived.
I had no idea how bored I had been in that room. I killed time by pulling every prank I could think of with the powers I had received from Morvanel. Things like using spider silk to flip up the nurses’ skirts or summoning tiny spiders to startle Lati. Richel wasn’t safe from my mischief either, though as expected of an Imperial Guard officer, none of it worked on her. Instead, I paid for every prank with a thorough pounding at night.
Thanks to all that fooling around, I could now use my left hand as skillfully as my right, and I had gained decent control over Morvanel’s power. The two SSS-rank summons each possessed abilities perfectly suited to their personalities. Tirga’s power was simple and straightforward—raw strength accompanied by lightning that mercilessly crushed her opponents. Morvanel’s abilities, on the other hand, were difficult to define in a single phrase. Cruel and cunning, just like her, her spider silk was not only incredibly durable but sharp enough to slice through enemies like wire. Add to that the ability to summon grotesque, terrifying arthropods, and her versatility was unmatched. The insectoid allies she summoned had no population limit, so I could call forth dozens at once. The only downside was how repulsive they looked, which tended to trigger instinctive revulsion. They could shatter an enemy’s morale with their mere appearance, and any woman would probably scream and flee. Face something like that and you’d develop arachnophobia even if you never had it before.
Come to think of it, this design would be perfect for a bug-loving liar who hated Korea. No wonder it felt strangely familiar.
“Here you are, Lord Marquelon. This is the Silvareich Arms—your new right arm and weapon.”
“Whoa. That’s impressive.”
A gleaming silver mechanical arm and its accompanying parts sat on the shelf, looking sturdy and packed with hidden functions. I lay down on the operating table, and the procedure to implant the necessary components for the prosthetic began. It was like driving screws into the gums for dental implants. Now they’d put me under general anesthesia, I’d take a nap, and it would all be over. Wait—where was the anesthesia? Surely they weren’t going to operate like this?
Damn it. I had forgotten this wasn’t the modern world. The elf doctors in front of me were wearing masks and surgical gowns, so I had momentarily been fooled. They were using magic instead of anesthesia. I didn’t lose consciousness, but a languid, hazy feeling washed over me. Was this what it felt like to float on water like an otter? Even the noisy sounds of the operating room reached my ears like white noise. It felt pleasant. Like burying my face in a large, beautiful woman’s chest and nuzzling against it. Yeah, big breasts really were the truth. Naked women flickered before my eyes—Tirga, Lati, Morvanel, Richel… Ah, rolling around together with beautiful women on a huge bed. This really was heaven.
“The surgery is complete, patient. Can you hear me?”
“Cough, cough—where the hell am I?”
“You were smiling the entire time. You must have had a pleasant dream.”
Bro, this guy’s laughing. Leave him alone—he’s just enjoying a good dream. Ugh, suddenly that path came to mind. I turned my head and saw a large, beautiful combat prosthetic attached to my right arm. I moved it around, testing it. It felt awkward, but the arm responded to my will. It was heavy, like it had sandbags attached, and the foreign sensation was strong, but I had finally evolved from a one-armed cripple to a cripple with an implant.
“All that remains is rehabilitation and training.”
“Rehab?”
“Given the weight and the need to use it proficiently, it will take some time.”
The elf doctor advised me not to strain myself for about a week while I got used to the prosthetic. He kindly provided an instruction manual, saying we could begin rehabilitation training afterward. But we Koreans don’t read things like that. Life is hands-on—if I just use it, I’ll figure it out. Still, it would be rude to throw away something I had been given, so I skimmed through it.
When I left the operating room and returned to my hospital room, Richel and Lati were already packing my things. It felt oddly domestic, like a wife taking care of her husband. The moment she saw me, Richel rushed over and wrapped me in a tight embrace. The moment her chest pressed against me, something in my pants stood at attention with an exclamation mark. Not just stood—it thrust forward with enough force to pierce her lower abdomen through my pants.
“Mar, really. After doing it every night like that…”
“No, this is… it’s not my will, it’s just…”
“Come to think of it, the Führer has gifted us a mansion to live in together. We won’t have to worry about our newlywed home.”
“What? Newlywed home? Then what about Lati?”
“We’ll hire Lati as our maid. How about that, Lati?”
I pictured Lati in a maid outfit. This was gourmet… no, wait—why was the conversation heading in that direction? Marriage? Of course, by this world’s standards I might already be past the usual age for marriage, but in modern terms I was still practically a baby. And if I married an Imperial Guard officer, I might end up completely tied down and subservient to the Empire. I was a free-spirited hipster mercenary—I had no intention of working loyally under anyone. A wolf doesn’t work under a dog. I was a mercenary who pursued money and freedom.
“Richel, let’s talk about marriage later. I still have a lot of things I need to do.”
“You still haven’t given up on revenge?”
“Of course not. After I brutally kill that swordswoman, I’ll make sure to deal with whoever’s behind her too. Even if it’s a king, an emperor, or an entire nation.”
“Haa… I see. Very well. Then I’ll gladly help you.”
“You don’t have to, Richel. This is my problem.”
“No. It’s a wife’s duty to follow her husband’s will.”
She was really putting me on the spot. If I argued back here, she’d just say something like “Does that mean you don’t want to marry me?” Still, it was true that I needed the Empire’s power and support. Richel was an officer in the Imperial Guard, after all—an undeniably reliable ally. Should I just close my eyes and get married? No matter how much of a scumbag I was, I wasn’t the type to use and discard a woman who liked me. Besides, finding such a beautiful, good-natured, and capable partner wasn’t easy. How was a person supposed to live alone anyway? Even harem protagonists eventually got married and had kids, right? I needed to think about this carefully.
“Boss, I’ve packed everything.”
“Isn’t that heavy? Let me carry it.”
“It’s fine. This much is nothing.”
We finally left the boring, joyless hospital. I was discharged at last! When I first arrived in the capital I had been in such bad shape that I hadn’t been able to take anything in. Now that I was properly on my feet, maybe I should explore Ermania, the capital of the Silvareich Empire? Before that, though, we decided to stop by the house the Führer had gifted us and drop off our luggage.
The neighborhood we were headed to was where high-ranking imperial officials lived. Elegant standalone houses stood neatly arranged. In the modern world, owning a house in the metropolitan area was something you could only dream of even after dying and coming back to life—yet here I was achieving it in another world. Just as I reached for the front door, it opened as if someone had been waiting, and an elf maid with beautifully braided dark brown hair greeted us.
“Welcome, Lady Richel, Lord Marquelon.”
“Who are you?”
“I am Enarel, the maid appointed by the Führer to serve the two of you. Please call me Ena.”
She lifted the hem of her skirt and curtsied gracefully. She had clearly received thorough etiquette training. She had a gentle, beautiful face that looked like it could embrace any mistake with love. And glasses suited her—something that wasn’t easy to pull off. From today onward, I was officially retracting my hatred of glasses. Most importantly, she was big. Not her height—her chest. Just looking at that chest was enough to make me hard. Her hips were hidden beneath the full skirt, but they were probably just as magnificent. A woman’s breasts and hips needed to be in harmony. Anyone who tried to choose only one was an idiot trapped in binary thinking.
“Mar? Where exactly are you looking right now?”
“Ahem. No, it’s just… ever since my arm ended up like this, I’ve been feeling a bit of aversion toward unfamiliar women.”
They gave me a house in the capital and even assigned me an incredible elf maid. Long live the Elf Führer. To hell with the cold, impoverished northern revolutionaries and the Holy Empire still playing medieval games. Glory to the great Silvareich Empire!
The house we entered with Enarel was extremely satisfying. And I wouldn’t have to do any of the annoying housework either.
“Hey, Enarel? Do you happen to have any spare maid outfits?”
“Of course.”
“Then could you give one to Lati here?”
“A m-maid outfit?”
Since Richel had suggested it, I was very curious too. The sight of a cute, lovely rabbit beastman girl wearing a maid uniform… just thinking about it made my mouth water. A moment later, Enarel brought out a maid outfit and handed it to Lati. Lati hesitated, but when the boss gave an order, how could a subordinate refuse? Lati said she understood and would go change, then headed into a room. While we were at it, I considered putting Richel in a maid outfit too, but she looked best in her uniform, so I decided to hold back. Besides, if I tried to strip that outfit off her carelessly, I’d have to give up on sleeping that night.
