Tirga's Rampage
Tirga's earth-shaking presence made for a peaceful morning. After all, with Solaris floating high in the sky, no hero or champion could possibly reach us here. Thanks to that, Tirga and I were able to spend our days in blissful leisure aboard the luxurious flying fortress. We slept in until late on the plush bed, wandered to the dining hall whenever hunger struck, had sex whenever the mood hit, enjoyed long baths, and occasionally headed to the lounge to sip drinks while gazing at the clouds below. The only downside was that a hefty chunk of the money I'd saved had gone toward maintenance costs. These mechanical summons didn't run on fuel you could buy at a station—they required direct cash injections through the info window, just like topping up a gacha game. Well, at least I could think of it as a luxury vacation with my girlfriend. Come to think of it, had I ever actually done a proper vacation like this back in my old world?
“Master, how long do you intend to keep lounging around like this?”
“Don't worry. There'll be a proper battle tomorrow.”
“Oho. Now that's good news!”
If we kept idling any longer we'd end up broke, so it was time to return to the surface. Since we planned to depart early tomorrow morning anyway, getting everything ready the night before wouldn't hurt. Originally, I'd intended to make a grand entrance with Solaris during the siege and turn the ground into a slaughterhouse. But once I factored in fuel and ammunition costs, the numbers simply didn't add up. It reminded me of those massive, beautiful battleships the Japanese built during World War II—completely useless without oil. Until my pockets were properly lined again, Solaris would have to stay sealed away. At least I could still boss Tirga around for free; money, unfortunately, was another matter entirely.
After enough sex, whether from sheer repetition or growing accustomed to it, I no longer passed out or collapsed. The real problem was Tirga constantly shooting me those suggestive looks. The cheeky summon was actually thinking about devouring her own master? I needed to scrape together enough money to roll another SSS-rank summon on her level. Maybe I should set up an offering and pray. Oh Lord, please grant me an SSS-rank summon.
After spending one night in a cheap inn, Tirga and I headed to the barracks where the elven imperial guard was stationed the next morning. The whole situation felt exactly like being dragged to reserve training after becoming a reservist—what a pain, yet oddly nostalgic.
“You arrived on time.”
“It's been a while, Lieutenant Ranea.”
“As you requested, I hired no other mercenaries. I had my doubts about this decision, but Sergeant Richel strongly insisted that I trust you.”
“An excellent choice. I can confidently say this will be the best decision you've made in your entire life.”
“We'll see if your tongue is matched by actual ability.”
My condition was excellent. On top of that, all the sex with Tirga had let me store up plenty of lightning power. My control was still a bit rough, but real combat would fix that quickly enough.
The imperial guard assembled on the training ground for a quick headcount and final preparations before marching out of the city. Tirga and I took our places right behind the platoon leader and followed the formation. Ranea and Richel, being officers, rode horses, of course. Speaking of horses—didn't I have one too?
I opened the summon window and found the horse I'd obtained from the ticket after killing that hero last time.
Rarity: R+
A breed originating from the Arabian Peninsula, favored by nomadic peoples of old. Though small in stature, it possesses remarkable endurance and a sturdy frame that belies its size. Capable of serving as a pack animal, transport mount, or even a racing steed, this versatile horse would make any rider salivate.
Any proper isekai resident ought to have at least one horse, right? Well, that wasn't actually a rule—I'd just made it up. Whatever. I called out “Summon Arabian,” and a brown horse with a black mane and tail appeared from a magic circle. The only time I'd ever ridden a horse was during a school trip as a kid, but my broken cheat ability let me control any vehicle or mount with perfect skill, so there was no issue.
“That's quite the fine specimen. A horse like that must cost a fortune. I didn't expect you to be hiding something this valuable.”
“You flatter me.”
Outwardly I stayed calm, but riding a horse felt deeply uncomfortable from a modern person's perspective. Having Tirga clinging tightly to me from behind only made it worse. I really should have summoned a truck instead. Still, horses were expensive and notoriously high-maintenance. At least I was riding instead of marching with a full pack like the others, so I tried to stay positive.
After riding for quite some time, a grand fortress perched on high ground came into view. Its height alone made it the perfect defensive position—anyone foolish enough to charge straight up would be cut down by the defenders. Ranea turned to me.
“Mercenary, just how exactly do you plan to take that fortress? We have no siege weapons or ladders.”
“You'll see soon enough.”
“Very well. We'll establish a position here.”
“No need. You'll be having dinner inside that fortress tonight anyway. Let your troops rest—they've been marching all day.”
At Ranea's command, the elves in black uniforms dropped their gear and rested. I dismissed my horse and stretched out the stiffness from riding. Once the break ended, we advanced right up to the gates. The defenders noticed our approach and scrambled along the walls. Trumpets blared as archers took their positions.
“Tirga, forget the gate. Smash that section of the wall for me.”
“Understood, Master. This should be fun!”
“Don't go overboard. Just break the wall—don't level the entire interior.”
Tirga, who had kept her human size until now, finally returned to her true colossal form for the first time in ages. From today onward, the humans and elves inside this fortress would learn the true power of a giant. The archers loosed volley after volley, but their arrows couldn't even scratch her white skin. Without drawing any weapon, Tirga simply raised her fist high and brought it crashing down, shattering the wall.
“G-Good heavens… A giant from legend actually exists…”
Ranea's jaw dropped. The defenders clearly annoyed Tirga, so she swept her palm across the wall like swatting insects, sending soldiers flying. The sheer force of her blows sent enemies tumbling outside the fortress, and their defensive line visibly collapsed. The imperial guard seized the moment and charged through the breach. With the defenders focused entirely on Tirga, they couldn't stop the elves from pouring in. Once the guard was inside, victory was all but assured.
True to their elite reputation, the elves fought like they were butchering livestock. I entered the fortress alongside Ranea without much trouble.
“Your words were no idle boast.”
“Would a man make promises he couldn't keep?”
The castle residents fled toward the inner keep to survive. Some were caught and killed by the imperial guard, and chaos erupted. Fires broke out, corpses littered the streets, and greedy elves smashed down doors to loot homes. Elves robbing humans—what a bizarre sight. Tirga, clearly enjoying her first real battle in a while, stomped through buildings and punched walls with obvious delight. Yet some resistance remained.
“You vile imperial lapdogs!”
A man appeared, sword flashing as he cut down elves and rescued civilians. Anyone who could hold off the imperial guard had to be a skilled adventurer. I couldn't just leave him be—he was becoming a nuisance. I extended both hands toward him, focusing all my senses into my palms. A crackling sound filled the air, followed by a sharp tingling, and then a thick bolt of lightning shot forth.
“Ghh!”
The man drove his sword into the ground and barely stayed upright. Was my lightning really that weak compared to Tirga's power? Or did this guy just have incredible durability and lightning resistance? He glared up at me with murderous eyes.
“Who are you? Your ears aren't pointed, so you're no imperial elf.”
“You don't need to know who I am. You're pretty good with that sword, though.”
“You little…!”
Enraged by my taunt, the man adjusted his grip and charged. He closed the distance so fast the word “quick” barely registered. If Ranea hadn't been beside me, I would've been skewered or sliced open. His double-edged sword clashed against her curved blade.
“I'll handle him, mercenary. Pay the price for harming my subordinates.”
The man gritted his teeth and swung wildly, but Ranea parried with ease. His attacks grew sluggish as his stamina drained, and in a flash she slashed his wrist. Blood sprayed as he dropped his sword, clutching the wound in agony.
“Filthy imperial scum. You're not even real elves. What happened to the race that once loved peace and nature?”
“They all died. So stop clinging to a meaningless past.”
Ranea ended the conversation by cleanly severing his head. It tumbled across the ground like a discarded toy part. I couldn't help but clap.
“Magnificent technique, Lieutenant Ranea.”
“This much is expected of someone who leads the imperial guard.”
After that, a few more arrogant fools tried to block our path, but they all died. My condolences. Meanwhile, if I left Tirga unchecked she might demolish the entire fortress interior, so I called her back. She stomped over with heavy footsteps, looking disappointed as she shrank back to human size.
“Tch. It was fun while it lasted.”
“Good work, Tirga.”
“I must admit, I was surprised. I expected someone extraordinary, but a giant…?”
“Have you ever seen a giant before, Lieutenant?”
“You certainly have a sense of humor, mercenary. Asking if I've seen giants from children's tales and myths.”
So Tirga really was worthy of her SSS rank. It wasn't just her power—her very existence as a giant in this world justified that classification. The remaining soldiers and residents holed up in the inner keep, but when Tirga dramatically dropped a massive lightning bolt on them, they finally raised the white flag. The old “lie down and let me in” technique never fails. WWE really does deliver guaranteed results.
