Stepping into the Immortal Domain, an Aura Even Heaven and Earth Can Hardly Bear
Stepping into the Immortal Domain, an Aura Even Heaven and Earth Can Hardly Bear
The Heavenly Ancient City—that was the name of this magnificent ancient city, incomparably vast and ancient, covered in the marks of all manner of blades, spears, swords, and halberds, weathered by countless ages.
The city walls alone seemed to split open the heavens, standing immortal and indestructible. No one knew what material they had been forged from; they were covered in bloodstains and antiquity, and some sections had collapsed, showing just how brutal the battles fought here had been back then.
And now, this city that had vanished from the Immortal Domain was manifesting out of the void. Its savage, ancient, murderous aura made it seem as though an endless army was marching forth from a distant era.
This scene shocked everyone.
Whether they were the remnants of the Immortal Domain or the beings of the Other Domain, all of them converged toward this place.
Divine rainbows streaked across the sky one after another. There were also the great figures of the various Other Domain clans, arriving in chariots or mounted on steeds wreathed in immortal mist.
Among them, even the weakest were Sacred Emperor Realm beings who had cultivated for over a million years.
Beyond that, young people made up the majority, the overwhelming majority of them from the Other Domain.
Only a small portion were the original inhabitants of this Western Immortal Domain—but by now they had already surrendered to the Other Domain, becoming vassal races of its great clans.
The once-proud geniuses and Saintesses had been reduced to slaves and maidservants of the Other Domain’s young people, clinging to a wretched existence, their former glory gone.
Their bodies carried immortal energy, for they were native-born creatures of the Immortal Domain. This immortal energy did not come from stepping into the Immortal Realm—it came from growing up in this world, nourished by its spiritual Qi.
“If this is the legendary Ascension Passageway, then it means that behind this gate lies the world we have always yearned for.”
“When the time comes, our clan will surely be the first to lead the great army charging in, to seize this world’s Source and restore our world to glory.”
“Only then can our world survive the coming battle for the True World.”
Many young people of the Other Domain spoke up. Some had prominent horns, some had lustrous pale faces, some bore wings on their backs—much like the Primordial Clans, yet in many ways they also resembled Humans.
But at this moment, all of them were trembling with excitement, their fighting spirit boiling, staring fixedly at that gate as it solidified out of the void.
The stone gate was grand and imposing, as if it carried the weight of ages past; heaven and earth themselves seemed to tremble because of it.
At this moment, that incomparably tall stone gate condensed out of nothingness, continuously turning solid—and then it began to be pushed open, as if some figure on the other side was about to walk through.
In truth, it was not only the Western Immortal Domain—the other Immortal Domains had also now learned of the Heavenly Ancient City’s appearance.
To the beings of the Immortal Domain, the Heavenly Ancient City was their last place of hope.
According to ancient legend, the Immortal Domain and the world connected by the path within the Heavenly Ancient City were one and the same. That was the Ancestral Land of all beings of the Immortal Domain—the Source World.
Even the invincible Immortal Kings had been born in that world. After untold hardships and countless ages of cultivation, they had achieved their great foundations in the Immortal Domain and come to rule over its myriad clans.
Only later, for reasons unknown, the Immortal Domain and that world suffered the Severed Horizons, and could no longer make contact.
From then on, the Immortal Domain became like duckweed without roots, stripped of its foundation of origin.
Countless ages had passed, and it had long been like a great edifice on the verge of collapse, unable to sustain its former glory.
The five Immortal Domains each sealed themselves off, struggling to survive in these chaotic times.
The emergence of the Heavenly Ancient City was, without question, an indescribable hammer blow to the hearts of the Immortal Domain’s people—rekindling excitement in hearts that had already fallen into despair, making them want to see hope from that place.
“Hah, utterly laughable. Back when the Immortal Domain was separated from its Source World, it may have been a situation of no choice—but it was also because this world suffered a great calamity, and many Immortal Realm existences had no choice but to flee with their clansmen.”
“Our clan’s Ancestor already divined it: if the Source World were to appear, its heaven and earth would be broken and ruined, incapable of giving birth to any Immortal Realm existence.”
“After the Severed Horizons, for the beings of the Source World to enter the Immortal Domain again and pursue higher realms has become empty talk. Without an exact time, without an exact location, they can forget about ever reaching the Immortal Domain.”
Seeing that among the gathered Cultivators and beings there were no few descendants of the Immortal Domain, many of the Other Domain’s older-generation experts all sneered coldly, not the least bit worried that anything could emerge from that Source World.
The sky darkened, the sun and moon faded away, and a massive, terrifying figure descended from the distance—a creature shaped like a Golden-Winged Roc, every single feather gleaming brilliantly, as if cast from gold.
This was unmistakably a True Daoist of the Other Domain, powerful beyond measure, his speed surpassing light itself—he appeared here in the blink of an eye.
He descended to the ground, transforming into a middle-aged man radiant with golden light, imposing without anger, black mist coiling around him.
Even a True Daoist of the Other Domain had shown himself, making this place boil over all the more.
In the current Immortal Domain, Immortal Realm figures did not show themselves—no one knew where they were hiding, fearful of being purged by the Other Domain’s Kings, treading with utmost caution.
Among those descendants of the Immortal Domain, the strongest in cultivation were merely at the Sacred Realm; not one had even reached the Sacred Emperor Realm.
Before a True Daoist of the Other Domain, they trembled in terror—a single wisp of his aura alone was enough to annihilate them ten thousand times over.
“So it really is that path...”
The eyes of this middle-aged man from the Other Domain seemed to shoot out two heavenly swords, ringing with metallic hums.
He stared fixedly at the manifested stone gate. He had never imagined that the legendary city, that legendary gate, would truly appear.
Soon, several more terrifying figures descended upon this place—all True Daoists of the Other Domain, wreathed in black mist, their faces blurred, like world-shrouding shadows standing at the edge of the sky, coldly watching the Heavenly Ancient City.
Before them, every Cultivator and living being felt as lowly as an ant.
Even a single thread of aura inadvertently leaked by a True Daoist was enough to make an ordinary Sacred Emperor explode. In the current Western Immortal Domain, the Other Domain’s True Daoists each held dominion over a region, able to suppress everything.
“I’d like to see just what this legendary Heavenly Ancient City really is.”
“Has the environment of heaven and earth changed, or is someone playing tricks?”
One True Daoist of the Other Domain spoke with great coldness, golden light surging from his eyes.
He gave a cold laugh, strode forward, and headed straight for that stone gate which was turning from illusory to real, reflecting across all under heaven.
He carried a terrifying aura, golden light billowing around his entire body like burning flames. On closer look, those flames were all symbols—constructed of order itself.
Boom!
Behind him, a great golden sun blossomed, taller than he was, enveloping him within it.
And a Golden Crow’s cry rang out, shaking the firmament.
The entire sky trembled because of his aura; even the stars beyond the heavens were shaken loose and fell.
“The True Daoist Ancestor of the Dark Blood Golden Crow Clan!”
Many beings of the Other Domain prostrated themselves beneath this aura, worshipping devoutly.
The younger generation especially revered him to the extreme, crying out in low voices, eager to witness with their own eyes their side’s invincible figure blast open that stone gate.
As for the clansmen of the Immortal Domain, they trembled in fear. The many tribes on the great land below fared even worse—many of them felt their very bodies were about to burst apart under this aura.
This True Daoist of the Dark Blood Golden Crow Clan clearly had no scruples whatsoever, attempting to probe whether that stone gate was real or false.
Boom!
But at that moment, the stone gate of the Heavenly Ancient City was slowly being pushed open—a crack had already appeared earlier.
Now, vast and mighty light surged out from within. The energies of two worlds seethed and collided, and a pillar of light even shot forth, piercing straight through the entire star field.
“It really is the aura of another world—there’s a path there too!”
The other True Daoists of the Other Domain were all shaken to the core, staring intently at that stone gate, trying to see clearly.
They could feel the aura of a vast and boundless world drifting over from the other side—ancient and primordial, even older than the Immortal Domain itself.
This stirred their hearts, calling to mind many legends—legends touching upon the secrets of this world’s Source.
“Wait—there are figures over there. Someone is walking over.”
“Could it be that he pushed open that gate? That he broke through the Severed Horizons?”
But in the next instant, as if noticing something, their expressions changed drastically, unable to maintain their earlier composure.
“Who are you?!”
At that moment, the voice of the Dark Blood Golden Crow Clan’s True Daoist Ancestor suddenly rang out, carrying shock, fear, trembling—and utter disbelief.
With a boom, ten thousand divine lights erupted from that place. Every ray of divine light was a grand rule rune—among them were supreme symbols, and even the bone script of the Dark Blood Golden Crow Clan, all interwoven together, their divine might shaking the world.
This was the supreme might of a True Daoist—he was fighting for his life. The light drowned out everything, so that many on this side could not even open their eyes, unable to look directly at it.
But then came a miserable scream—and with a bang, blood exploded across that place. All the radiance faded away, as if devoured by endless darkness.
The faces of all the Other Domain’s True Daoists changed; their whole bodies went cold, their hair standing on end.
The rest of the Other Domain beings and Immortal Domain descendants gathered here also fell abruptly silent, a deathly stillness descending as they watched the grand scene behind that stone gate settle, the light fading away.
Upon the Heavenly Ancient City, the walls stood as they always had—yet now they were once again splashed with the blood of a True Daoist, his body and bones utterly gone.
The stone gate opened, and out walked a young man in robes of cyan silk, handsome and refined.
Five-colored immortal mist coiled around his body, but it quickly faded away—returning to simplicity, transcendent and unworldly.
He walked out just like that, unhurried and calm, a big red bird flapping its wings following behind him. His gaze was utterly tranquil, like a vast deep sea, like boundless void.
Yet the whole of heaven and earth shook violently. The sky itself seemed about to collapse—as if it could hardly bear his presence.
