Chapter 667: Did You Find Yun Tao Yet
Soon, Flesh Flower cleared away all the corpses, and Zhan Lian cleared out all the wood-type zombies. Everyone hiding in corners was also driven to the first floor without exception.
Flower vines crawled along the walls like snakes. The crowd stood in the hall as if trapped in a pit of ten thousand snakes. Each person shrank into themselves, not daring to speak, terrified and uneasy while the red vines slithered around their feet.
Doll was playing with her little chick-pecking push toy again. She pushed it from the tearoom doorway straight into the pit of vines. The vines opened a path for her and the little cart, letting her pass smoothly.
“I’ll keep it simple.” Behind Doll, An Ran leaned against the carved wooden doorframe of the tearoom, her posture lazy. “From now on, you eat, sleep, and live here. You can choose any room on the fifth or sixth floor. No fighting, no killing. You can argue, I won’t kill you. If you want to die, you can kill yourselves.”
Hundreds, maybe thousands, of survivors stood silently as she announced the rules.
Someone nervously raised a hand. It was a woman in a red dance dress. People recognized her. Her name was Jing Xuan.
Jing Xuan’s feet were wrapped in mutated vine tendrils. She trembled like a sieve. When An Ran’s cold, unreadable gaze landed on her, she asked: “How long will we have to stay here?”
Her courage was astonishing. She had asked what everyone wanted to ask. But the scene was too horrifying, and no one else dared.
An Ran lifted a brow. When she shifted her posture, gasps spread through the crowd. They thought she was about to kill Jing Xuan, but instead she simply answered:
“The same condition as before. Until we find Chen Chaofa.”
“If… if we never find him?” Jing Xuan looked like she was about to cry, but she forced the question out. Everyone needed clarity, some mental preparation.
“Then you grow old and die here.” An Ran shrugged, turned, frowned, and quietly asked Zhan Lian, “Did you find Yun Tao?”
“Every corner except the burned top floor has been checked. He wasn’t there.” Zhan Lian’s expression was tense. “I’ll go search the top floor in a while.”
“Take Luo Feifan with you. In case another you appears and I can’t tell the difference.”
“Alright.”
After Zhan Lian agreed, An Ran clicked her tongue at him. She waved for Mint to catch Doll, who had already wandered across the hall. Then she called Zhao Ru, Zhan Lian, Luo Feifan, and helped the newly awakened Liu Shasha upstairs to the fifth floor.
Their group took two rooms on the fifth floor—one for Luo Feifan and Zhan Lian, another for An Ran and the women.
The rest—about a thousand people—queued under Flesh Flower’s watch, going upstairs to choose rooms. No room was allowed to close. Even if they tried, they couldn’t, because Flesh Flower had already grown into each room. Thick vines pressed against every door.
There were about forty rooms per floor. Cram a few people into each room and two floors were enough. Fatty’s group would airdrop food onto the fourth floor daily, and survivors would form teams to carry it upstairs.
