Chapter 638: No One Can Leave
At first, she thought finding one person would be easy. For her, it should have been a trivial task. But now she realized the situation was far more complicated than she expected. Should she call Zhan Lian to help search?
As this thought crossed her mind, the green vines above the teahouse suddenly swayed without wind. An Ran’s eyes snapped open. In her mind, she “looked” through floor after floor. On one of them, a door swung open and several men staggered out—covered in blood. Inside, several bodies lay scattered across the floor.
Another room was drenched in blood, but a few survivors managed to escape in time. They rushed into the elevator, hurried down to the first floor, reached the lobby—and caused chaos.
Still, there was no sign of Chen Chaofa, nor could she tell for certain whether he was the killer.
“Mint, go find Fatty. Tell him to seal off this hotel. No one is allowed to leave.”
An Ran held the now-sleeping Doll, her brows knit tightly, her expression grim.
Chen Chaofa’s madness was clearly escalating. The crowd, influenced by fear, was already clamoring to escape.
If Chen Chaofa slipped out among them and escaped, Fatty and the others outside could be in danger. No one could predict what a psychopath might do.
“Also, have Zhan Lian come here—and bring a few people to draw portraits of Chen Chaofa and Yang Ziyi.”
She took a deep breath. Things were becoming more complicated—beyond her control. Some measures she had previously dismissed would now have to be used.
She remained in the teahouse holding Doll. Little Mint stood silently, then turned and went to find Fatty and Zhan Lian.
Moments later, Zhan Lian, Luo Feifan, and Yun Tao arrived with several others, pushing through the noisy crowd and entering the teahouse. Yun Tao left Little Hengheng with Fatty, who assigned him simple tasks he could manage.
Everyone had noticed the moment Little Mint walked out earlier. She looked calm, unafraid, completely unaffected. Before long, she returned—with several men behind her.
The lobby was filled with murmurs and panic. People looked at Zhan Lian and the others as if they were executioners.
In one hotel room, several group leaders had fled at the first news of murder. One of them recognized Zhan Lian and Luo Feifan. From conversations, they pieced things together: the Grand Fortune Hotel had been crippled by these two fighters.
Another quietly spread even worse news:
All exits above the fourth floor had been sealed with thick metal plates. Soldiers surrounded the Grand Fortune Hotel. Outside, others were digging traps. Unless someone inside could fly, no one was getting out.
Fear spread. People in the hall exchanged anxious glances, desperately searching for a way to escape.
Inside the teahouse, Zhan Lian frowned at An Ran’s report. After a moment of thought, he tilted his head and asked Luo Feifan softly:
“Do you think this Chen Chaofa has some kind of ability… something that lets him hide himself?”
Even as they spoke, more rooms elsewhere in the building were turning into slaughterhouses.
