Chapter 574: Liu Shasha
Chapter 574: Liu Shasha
"Oh, that’s right." Fatty grinned smugly. "I told Luo Feifan this morning to help fix the roof of Villa 520. Then I asked Liu Zhi to send that girl over to 520 to rescue someone. They’ve probably already met."
"What a ridiculous plan!!" An Ran frowned, shook her head, and turned to leave.
Just as she reached her villa, she saw Zhan Lian and Luo Feifan walking over. An Ran greeted them, holding Doll, and asked Luo Feifan, "What are you doing?"
Doll in her arms wore a woolen hat with a pompadour bigger than her head, which fluttered in the cold wind. She pointed at Zhan Lian and babbled, "Ba, a, ba, ba~," raising both small hands toward her father, clearly wanting to be held.
"Daddy’s here, Daddy’s here to hold you." Zhan Lian stepped forward, reached out, and scooped Doll from An Ran’s arms, his words dripping with sugary sweetness. "Oh, Daddy holds you, darling! Daddy holds Doll! Daddy holds Doll, Feifei!"
I can’t stand it.
An Ran and Luo Feifan exchanged a disdainful glance. Zhan Lian seemed perfectly normal most of the time, but the moment he held his daughter, his IQ plummeted.
Left with no other choice, An Ran turned back to Luo Feifan. "What’s up? Going to fix the roof?"
"Yeah. That Fatty was being all secretive. With so many people around, he still insisted I go fix the roof at 520. Do you want to come along and take a look?" Luo Feifan smiled faintly, clearly suspicious of Fatty. He himself wanted to see what was going on.
An Ran nodded. Might as well—she could tell him about that girl on the way.
Meanwhile, as An Ran and the others headed for 520, the girl they’d been discussing was already wandering around, searching for 502.
Months of heavy snow had buried most of the uninhabited villas, leaving the landscape blanketed in white. Finding 502 was no easy task.
Today, with the weather finally clear, some families from the east side of the river had moved west, and many people were out buying firewood and charcoal. The open space at the villa entrance was bustling with activity, but the deeper one went into the complex, the fewer people there were.
Because when An Ran had first moved in, she’d chosen a villa at the southeast corner near the entrance. Fatty’s twenty-people-per-villa arrangement also spread his people around that area, keeping them all close to An Ran.
This made the other side relatively quiet. Even if newcomers moved in, it was usually because they didn’t yet understand just how powerful An Ran’s support abilities were. Otherwise, they would’ve fought tooth and nail just to live nearby.
Why? Because it was safe.
Finding herself alone, Liu Shasha suddenly realized—she was lost.
"502, 502~~" Liu Shasha muttered as she searched, stamping her feet against the cold. "Sister Zhizi wants me to save someone here? There’s no one around. Who am I even supposed to save? Forget it, it’s freezing."
She actually turned to leave, but after only two villas, she froze, joy lighting up her face when she spotted the number plate ahead.
"502, I found it!!!"
She cheered, running forward with the bag slung across her shoulder. Pushing open the wooden fence, she stopped short.
A few drops of crimson dotted the snow.
Her pretty face stiffened, and with growing alarm she rushed ahead, shoving open the villa’s half-closed door.
