Chapter 484: The Beggars' Sect Leader
Chapter 484: The Beggars' Sect Leader
Zhou Xiang and his men come to finish looting—but unexpectedly run into An Ran at the front gate.
To Zhou Xiang, this is a windfall. Zhan Lian won’t be back for days. If they capture An Ran now and flee north, they’ll be far from Xiangcheng by the time he returns.
Even if they don’t take her with them, they can’t let her live—she’ll be a major threat in the future.
Coincidentally, An Ran is thinking the same.
Upon hearing Zhou Xiang’s words, her gentle, clean face twists into a sneer.
“Sure. Come get me if you can.”
Fatty, who’s been eagerly trying to chat, freezes on the spot.
What is he supposed to do now?
It’s like witnessing a live crime scene—and somehow being part of the reenactment.
Should he help? But who? Zhou Xiang has numbers and uniforms, while An Ran is just one woman holding a baby. Helping Zhou Xiang might gain favor. But An Ran is clearly no pushover—she’s already slashed Third Brother’s arm.
Fatty’s eyes dart as he calculates the risks.
Before he can decide, Zhou Xiang’s men rush at An Ran.
Without thinking further, Fatty makes his move. He’s the self-proclaimed Beggars’ Sect Leader, after all! He has to help the weak and defeat the strong!
He clenches his teeth and charges toward Zhou Xiang’s group.
What did the Beggar Sect do in the old days? They protect the elderly, women, children, the sick, and the weak!
The vines in the ground begin to sway.
At first, there’s only one—but suddenly, it feels like every vine in the world is moving.
A thick vine shoots out from the earth and sweeps past Fatty, heading straight for the soldiers. It coils around their necks and lifts them into the air.
An Ran doesn’t even move. Watching the men kicking in mid-air, she sneers, “Wearing military uniforms but fighting like amateurs. All fakes!”
Zhou Xiang, still inside the residential complex, is terrified.
He’s just a strength-type user. What’s with all these vines? What do they have to do with An Ran?
Why are they even helping her?
Panic takes over. Zhou Xiang turns and runs.
An Ran takes two steps forward and shoves the stunned Fatty aside. “Why are you just standing there?! Move!”
Startled by the vines—and by An Ran’s shove—Fatty trembles violently. His face suddenly lights up with righteous determination.
“I’ll go after him! I’ll bring him back!”
His fat body wobbles as he charges through the gate. “Second Brother! Third Brother! Fourth Brother! Fifth Brother! Stop him!”
Several men—including Third Brother with his injured arm—appear out of nowhere and block Zhou Xiang’s path.
Zhou Xiang sprints at full speed through the residential area, ducking past several people—only to slam headfirst into a stone wall.
Bang!
He doesn’t even see it. His skull cracks against the wall, and he collapses to the ground, dead.
