Chapter 451: It's About to Explode
Chapter 451: It's About to Explode
Axe seethes with fury, but he also knows that, in a way, they’ve truly lost this round. He can only glare at Zhan Lian and choke out a single word—“You”—before falling silent.
A real man—if he can forgive the murder of his father and the taking of his wife—isn’t a real man at all.
At that moment, a vine climbs up Zhan Lian’s metalen wall, blooms, and opens a flower above everyone’s heads. It’s the red flower Axe mentioned earlier. It looks like a lily—no, more like a many-petaled lotus—its scarlet stamens swaying arrogantly atop the wall.
An Ran nestles in Zhan Lian’s arms, kissing Doll’s face. The child giggles and pats An Ran back with tiny hands, completely unbothered by the time spent apart.
Suddenly, a wave of grief and rage surges inside An Ran. The emotion flashes across her mind like a slash of fire, leaving a deep impression.
She abruptly looks up at the crimson lotus on the wall. Her eyes widen.
Anger. Tyranny. Destruction. Bloodlust. All these emotions pour from that red lotus.
It perches on the wall, waving its pistil at An Ran with provocation. It’s definitely a mutant flower—one even more vicious than the fat thorn ball at her feet.
If the fat thorn ball is like a good child, then this red lotus is a delinquent—psychologically twisted, destined for juvenile detention.
It radiates hatred from deep within. So much so that the fat thorn ball trembles and clings to An Ran’s heel, too afraid to move.
Then a fireball flies over the wall, withering the red flower and forcing the vines to retreat. Luo Feifan’s firepower saves them.
Zhan Lian shields Doll with one arm and places his other hand on An Ran’s shoulder. Holding a crescent-shaped scimitar in front of them, he runs with his wife and child toward Luo Feifan.
“Not good!” Axe suddenly cries. The stench of gasoline is getting worse. He turns to Zhang Boxun, who’s getting up off the ground. “Their fire-type ability-user is using flames—we need to move, now!”
Zhang Boxun nods, purses his lips, and runs after Zhan Lian and Axe.
But Wang Wei is still trying to coax Xu Lier. “Lili, come on—we have to go! The car’s going to explode!”
Xu Lier cries, nods, and reaches out for Wang Wei’s hand—but then shrinks back, panicked. “But I’m scared, A’wei… it’s dangerous out there!”
“It’s more dangerous to stay in the car!” Wang Wei is frantic. He dives back in, grabs her legs, and starts dragging her out.
“No, A’wei! I don’t want to go! I hate you—I hate you!” Xu Lier screams and kicks him over and over in the face.
Sweating, Wang Wei finally yanks her out and holds her tightly. Just then, he sees sparks flickering from damaged wires near the car.
He doesn’t care whether she hates him or not. He just turns and runs with her in his arms.
Boom!
An explosion rings out behind them. The shockwave knocks both of them to the ground, and Xu Lier is shielded beneath Wang Wei’s body.
