Chapter 345: Automatic Falling Off
Chapter 345: Automatic Falling Off
“I really want it to fall out on its own!!!” Little Mint says again. Her stomach hurts a little, so she runs back to the bed and lies down, clutching her belly.
Hengheng is too young to fully understand what Little Mint is doing, but when he sees her lying quietly on the bed, no longer making noise, he feels relieved. He calmly sits nearby, keeping an eye on both Little Mint and Doll.
Outside the door, Zhao Ru’s face loses all trace of a smile. A faint, hard-to-read sadness appears in her expression as she looks at An Ran seriously.
An Ran shakes her head, silently indicating that no matter what Zhao Ru says, she still can’t trust her. Then she opens the ward door and walks in.
Inside, Little Mint seems to have been lying still the entire time.
Hengheng has pulled over a small stool and is sitting beside her bed. He glances between Little Mint and Doll, as if trying to take care of both girls at once.
Sunlight streams through the window, bathing the scene in a warm glow. The sight makes An Ran smile knowingly.
She walks to the bedside and first checks on Doll. Doll has woken up two hours ago to nurse and now lies with its head tilted, both tiny hands raised above its head, sleeping peacefully.
Then she looks at Little Mint and immediately feels something is off. Her face is unusually pale, and although she looks calm, it’s an unnatural kind of peace. An Ran has been around Little Mint for quite a while and has never seen her sleep so still.
She hurries over and calls out, “Mint, Mint, wake up. Wake up!”
Hengheng stands up, hands on the bedrail, looking at Little Mint with concern.
Seeing she can’t wake her, An Ran tries shaking her, but Little Mint still doesn’t respond. Panic rising, An Ran pulls back the quilt, intending to help her sit up—but the moment the blanket comes off, she freezes.
Little Mint’s lower body is soaked in blood.
“Ahhh—!!!” An Ran screams and rushes out the door—just as Zhao Ru is heading toward the doctor’s office.
Hearing the cry, Zhao Ru immediately turns and runs toward her. “What’s wrong? What happened?!”
“Mint—Mint is bleeding—” An Ran is so flustered she can’t form a full sentence, but Zhao Ru is used to seeing panicked family members. Without waiting, she rushes into the ward to check on Little Mint.
Zhao Qianrong also hears the commotion. Her gray hair messy and still undressed, she rolls her wheelchair out of the doctor’s office.
An Ran follows Zhao Ru into the room.
On the bed, Doll has been startled awake by the shouting and begins crying loudly. The scene descends into chaos.
As An Ran picks up Doll, she hears Zhao Ru, who is examining Little Mint, say, “The uterine contents expelled on their own.”
Outside the door, Zhao Qianrong frowns. “We need to perform a uterine cleaning immediately. Otherwise, she risks heavy bleeding.”
Inside, Zhao Ru moves quickly. A thin layer of sweat appears on her forehead as she lifts Little Mint from the bed with practiced ease.
She turns to An Ran and says firmly, “An Ran, there’s no time to hesitate. This is a matter of life and death. Stop doubting me—go get your ex-husband and tell him to turn on the lights in the operating room!”
