Chapter 28: Who Told You to Bite Me
Chapter 28: Who Told You to Bite Me
Nearby the blue light therapy room, a zombie shuffles around, and another zombie is close by, with several more wandering in the vicinity.
This means Anran has to open the metal door in a very short amount of time and can’t deal with the zombies near the blue light room. If she kills one, it will cause a commotion and attract all nearby zombies.
So the only way is to get into the blue light room as quickly as possible, before the first zombie approaches.
She takes a deep breath and tries to push the blue light room’s door with all her might. To her luck, she manages to open it a bit. As she slips inside, a zombie that has followed her grabs her shoulder.
“Let go!”
In pain, Anran raises her hand and randomly stabs at the zombie gripping her shoulder. She misses the head, and the zombie remains active. At that moment, something goes wrong: inside the blue light room's main door, there is a hallway wrapping around the blue light room. This section is used for doctors and nurses to change into sterile shoe covers and gowns. At this time, a zombie dressed as a nurse is trapped inside.
The zombie has been waiting for Anran inside the door for a long time. When Anran is stabbing the zombie behind her, the nurse zombie grabs Anran's chest with both hands, bares its fangs, and bites into her other shoulder.
“Ah!!!”
Anran can’t help but scream in pain. The knife is still stabbing at the zombie behind her. This time, she finally gets it right. As the force holding her shoulder relaxes, Anran switches the knife to her other hand and desperately stabs at the nurse zombie’s head.
The blue light room’s sliding door has an automatic closing feature. The zombie Anran kills gets stuck in the door crack, and the zombies outside don’t understand how to open the sliding door. The gap is too narrow, and it seems like the zombies outside can’t get in for now.
This gives Anran a moment to vent her emotions.
“You bit me, you bit me, you bit me!!! Who told you to bite me? Who told you to bite me???!!!”
She completely collapses. The pain drives her mad as she frantically stabs at the nurse zombie. Then, Anran cries again. She feels like a twisted murderer. Her mindset has gone to the extreme. Her appearance—long hair in disarray, face covered in brain matter and skull fragments from the nurse zombie, and blood from her shoulder staining her entire arm—is a mess.
After the zombie is dead beyond recognition, Anran drops the knife, retreats to a corner, and cries uncontrollably, looking at her blood-soaked hand.
Would being bitten by these monsters cause tetanus or rabies? Should she get a tetanus or rabies vaccine?
She then thinks of her ex-husband, crying softly, “Husband, where are you? Come save me quickly, I’m scared~~~~~”
If she hadn’t insisted on the divorce from the very beginning, Zhan Lian, who was so responsible, would definitely come to rescue her without her having to ask. After all, she was his legally wedded wife. But now that they are divorced, even if Zhan Lian were still alive, why would he come to save her? At most, he is just her ex-husband now!!!
