Clearing the Dungeon
The next morning.
Kang Dohyun left the base camp aboard the drone. His destination was, of course, Muan International Airport. He checked the zombies with Presence Detection as he went.
"Kueeeek!!"
No — he deliberately flew a little lower, drawing the zombies' aggro as he moved. A trail of them followed directly beneath the drone.
There are way too many of them.
No matter how carefully he pulled aggro with the drone, the sheer number of zombies meant not all of them followed. There was a limit to what one person could lure alone.
Yeah. Three people pulling is the right call.
Confirming the situation as he went, he arrived at the center of the airport runway and began pouring aviation fuel from his inventory.
Splash, splash, splash, splash.
The zombies down there are getting hit with too much of it.
The zombies directly below were soaked in far too much fuel, so he pulled more aviation fuel from his inventory at a higher altitude. He drenched the runway until the ground was thoroughly saturated with oil.
Once the preparations were complete, Kang Dohyun flew the drone back.
At the base camp, Kang Dohun and Lee Gaeun were talking.
"Gaeun, you have to be careful."
"Don't worry."
Lee Gaeun's attack power was weak, but she had a skill that boosted her speed, and her unique trait enhanced her mental fortitude. She was more than capable of handling a mission that required outrunning zombies.
Even so, Kang Dohun was terribly anxious.
"Once the operation starts, there's nowhere to run. If you want to back out even now…"
"No. I'm doing this."
At her firm reply, Kang Dohun let out a sigh.
"Then please — be careful. Be extra careful."
"I will."
As the two of them fretted, Kang Dohyun — who had been listening — cut in.
"You're ready, right? Let's move. Before the fuel dries."
"Yes. I'm ready."
"Got it."
Kang Dohun and Lee Gaeun answered at the same time, and the operation began.
It started with Kang Dohun.
He walked toward the airport entrance on foot. Every zombie he encountered, he smashed apart with his martial arts.
Thud! Crack!
He forced his way into the airport building. Then he bellowed at the top of his lungs.
"Kueeeeeek!"
The countless zombies inside the building locked onto the noisy newcomer, their aggro snapping to Kang Dohun.
"Come on! Come get me!!"
He cut them down as he moved. His destination was, naturally, the runway — and a staggering number of zombies poured out of the building after him, surging toward the tarmac.
Kang Dohyun and Lee Gaeun traveled by drone. At the northern end of the runway, Kang Dohyun set Lee Gaeun down.
"Stay under cover as much as you can. Move out once ten minutes are up."
"Understood."
Once Kang Dohyun left her there, she loosened up and prepared to run.
Succeed at this mission. Prove to Oppa that I have value beyond just being a good woman.
Kang Dohun already recognized her as a good woman — but she wanted him to acknowledge her other worth as well. So she steeled herself to carry out her role even if it cost her life.
Kang Dohyun flew south on the drone.
To make Lee Gaeun's job of luring zombies as easy as possible, he drew some of them after him as he descended — and then he spotted Kang Dohun fighting his way out of the airport building.
"Hahp! Argh!"
Thud! Crack.
Kid's doing well.
Kang Dohyun flew all the way to the southern end of the runway. Then —
Click-clack. BOOM!
— he deliberately fired his loud shotgun into the zombies, pulling every bit of nearby aggro he could.
"Let's go!"
Shouting as he went, Kang Dohyun began killing zombies along the southern runway and drawing them toward the center.
The two brothers noisily herded their throngs of undead toward the middle of the tarmac. Lee Gaeun checked her watch.
Ten minutes are up.
When the appointed time arrived, she started running.
The northern side was where the brothers had hunted zombies the day before, so there were relatively fewer of them — but still.
"Hahp! Over here!! Here!! Everyone follow me!!"
She deliberately shouted at the top of her lungs.
"Kueeek!"
The remaining zombies charged straight at her. She dodged their lunges by the narrowest of margins and sprinted toward the center of the runway.
So many. If I'm even a little late, I'm dead.
The zombies on the northern runway were fewer than elsewhere, but there were still plenty. She ran with everything she had, and the undead left on the north end began streaming after her toward the center.
After a long, desperate sprint — weaving past clawing hands and snapping jaws — she finally spotted Kang Dohyun and Kang Dohun already at the center of the runway, cutting down zombies. Gasping for breath, she staggered close.
"Hah… hah… I… I'm here!"
"Hyung, Gaeun's here! Hurry!"
Kang Dohun urged him on, worried for her, and Kang Dohyun immediately summoned the drone.
"Get on!"
Lee Gaeun scrambled onto the drone first. Kang Dohyun climbed up right after her and shouted.
"You too — get up here!"
"One second!"
There were simply too many zombies packed around him for Kang Dohun to climb aboard right away. Kang Dohyun pulled out the shotgun again.
Click-clack. BOOM!
He sprayed the area, blasting open a gap.
"Thanks!"
Kang Dohun vaulted through the opening his brother had made and landed on the drone.
With all three of them aboard, Kang Dohyun took the controls and soared high into the air.
"Kweeeek!"
"Kuek!!"
"Kweeeeeek!"
Below the drone, more than a thousand zombies thronged the center of the runway, shrieking up at the party.
Kang Dohyun looked down at the enormous horde, then turned to his brother.
"Throw the Molotovs."
"Got it."
Following his brother's order, Kang Dohun pulled a Molotov cocktail from his bag, lit it, and hurled it downward.
Crash.
The bottle shattered across a zombie's body and burst into flame. Fire caught and began to spread to the surrounding undead — but slowly.
"Dump the fuel!"
Kang Dohun and Kang Dohyun rapidly pulled aviation fuel from their inventories and poured it from the air. The flames raced across the zombies — and then reached the fuel Kang Dohyun had already soaked into the ground.
Hiss… FWOOOOSH.
In an instant, the runway became a sea of fire. More than a thousand zombies ignited all at once.
"Kweeeeeek!!"
The burning undead let out tremendous howls. The sight was truly grotesque. Even wreathed in flames, their hatred for the living never wavered.
Kang Dohyun steered the drone, using the burning zombies to spread the fire to undead in other areas. The flames began to leap from one cluster to the next.
"Whoa. This is insane."
Before long, the entire runway of Muan International Airport was ablaze. And that wasn't the end of it.
BOOM!
One of the planes sitting on the tarmac exploded. A massive wave of heat blasted outward in every direction, and the drone lurched hard in the shockwave.
"Ah—!"
Lee Gaeun lost her balance and nearly toppled off. Fortunately —
Got you!
— Kang Dohun, with his superhuman reflexes, caught her body before she could fall.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes."
If she had fallen, the zombies would have torn her apart. Burning zombies, no less. Relieved, Kang Dohun turned to his brother.
"Hyung, the other planes are going to blow too. We need to get out of here."
"Okay."
At his brother's words, Kang Dohyun climbed higher until they were out of the zombies' sight, then left the airport behind.
The party returned to the base camp. As soon as everyone climbed down from the drone —
"Ahh…"
— Kang Dohyun, drained by the enormous stamina cost, dismissed it with a weary gesture.
"Hyung, you did great."
"Haa… I'm gonna lie down for a bit."
Kang Dohyun went into the tent and collapsed. Outside, Kang Dohun and Lee Gaeun remained.
A short while later —
BOOM! BOOM!
— explosion after explosion rolled out from Muan International Airport. The remaining aircraft were going up one by one. And now the entire airport was burning.
"Wow… I can feel the heat all the way out here."
"Yeah. One hell of a fireworks show."
The two of them sat side by side, watching Muan International Airport burn.
About thirty minutes after the airport had caught fire —

"Oppa! We did it!"
The two of them cheered at the successful dungeon clear. Inside the tent, Kang Dohyun checked the messages as well.
Finally over. Time for a little sleep.
Leaving the cleanup to his brother, he sank straight into sleep.
And so the party's assault on the Muan International Airport Dungeon ended in success.
