Chapter Title: Panel Update…
-------------------------------------
In ten years' time, it wasn't just the small town that had undergone huge changes!
Even Evan's strength had undergone astonishing transformations.
The most direct reflection of this was on his attribute panel...

-------------------------------------
In the span of ten years, Evan not only upgraded all of his previous abilities to LV7, but he even upgraded his magic power to LV8!
LV7 magic power meant that one’s magic power had reached the entry-level of a Wizard Saint. LV8 meant that Evan's magic power had already reached the level of the fifth-ranked Wizard Saint, which was the so-called limit that humans could reach.
Going one step further, his magic power could reach the level of the subsequent Four Gods of Ishgar, specifically the bottom three, which was the so-called non-human level.
In fact, magic power at the human limit, combined with his Separation and Enchantment Magic, as well as his Devil Fruit abilities, Haki, and Martial Arts, already allowed Evan to roam around unhindered across the Ishgar Continent. Not only that, he was confident that against a mage like Warrod — who possessed massive magic power, but wasn’t adept at combat, and had always been dedicated to the greening of the Ishgar Continent — he also had a chance of winning.
Besides this, Evan had also enchanted himself with resistances to toxins, illusions, elemental magic, time magic, and spatial magic. He even upgraded four of these resistances to LV7, and one resistance to LV6. This gave him a one hundred percent advantage when facing ninety-nine percent of the mages in this world.
As for why he added resistances, it was out of helplessness. Although Haki and the Fish-Fish Fruit were powerful and could achieve effective surface defense, they were incompatible against some internal attacks. Even a Devil Fruit user and Haki user at the level of Teacher Kaido would still be injured by internal damage...
And in this world, there was spatial magic that could directly extract a person's heart from their chest. Unlike Law's Op-Op Fruit, once the heart was extracted here, the person whose heart was taken would truly die.
At the same time, there was also magic that directly shrank the human body's heart until it disappeared. The shrinking range of the mage controlling this magic was at the island or even country level, exaggerated to the point of being able to shrink a small island to the size of a ping-pong ball...
In addition to this, there were also various deadly toxin magics, illusion magics that made humans go mad, magic that paused time, and even more outrageously, magic that directly dominated humans...
And these resistances could make it so that when the users of these magics used them on Evan, they would entirely fail to exert their intended effects!
However, Evan wasn’t arrogant. Facing a true powerhouse like Irene, he was still destined to be instantly killed.
But he was confident that as he accumulated more and more funds, coupled with Enchantment Magic — a bug that allowed him to enchant abilities onto himself and then directly upgrade them using the system — he would very quickly be able to grow up and stand up independently. At the very least... he wouldn't be instantly killed by a figure at Irene's level!
As for Evan's Enchantment Magic...
This was simply a bug. He could use this magic to casually enchant various bizarre attributes onto himself. Although there were certain limitations — he couldn't enchant bug-like attributes such as invincibility or omniscience and omnipotence — it was already perverted enough as it was.
However, although Enchantment Magic was powerful enough, Evan still raised the levels of his Haki, Devil Fruits, and Martial Arts, not leaving a single one behind. Because Evan knew that magic had a limit, or rather, in a short period of time, he couldn’t raise it to a level that surpassed certain people!
For example, within the Zeref Empire, the one jointly known as the Twin Shields of the Empire alongside Irene, the master of a massive amount of magic power, and the one who bore the title of 'Calamity'— August!
Wanting to use magic to defeat that man, who was known as the 'Magic King', was simply as difficult as ascending to the heavens.
In the original work, even though Gildarts found the Magic King's weakness that couldn't really be considered a weakness, he still couldn't completely defeat August. The latter’s defeat was more of a relief and reformation after he saw his beloved mother.
Facing August— who could copy all magic and utilize the heaven-defying magic power he had inherited from the Black Wizard Zeref and Fairy Tail's First Guild Master Mavis to execute the copied magic with even stronger effects than the original users…
Facing this kind of monster, Evan didn't plan to use magic to deal with the other party at all. Rather, he planned to rely on his Devil Fruits, Martial Arts, and Haki to outsmart the Magic King. He was betting that the man couldn't copy such abilities that weren’t magical in nature.
Of course, such plans were all merely precautions just in case Evan might actually face the Magic King. The reason that the former was making preparations now was also to plan for the future. Preparing in advance would never put him at a disadvantage.
Besides this, at Evan's current level, the funds he obtained from his daily quests were already negligible. Relying on just them, even if Evan spent several decades, it would still be very difficult for him to reach the level of being able to deal with the Magic King. And most importantly, the all-out war between the Western Continent and the Eastern Continent wasn’t far off. There was simply no time for Evan to hole up somewhere and upgrade his abilities, so he placed his sights on the system’s advanced quests.
-------------------------------------
[Advanced Quest: Join any mage guild at will. The final reward obtained will be determined by the guild's strength and future potential!]
-------------------------------------
After receiving this advanced quest, Evan had already decided on the guild he wanted to join. It had to be Fairy Tail. Setting aside the point that according to the system's description, joining Fairy Tail would definitely yield him the maximum profit...
Just based on the fact that as long as one stamped on the Fairy Tail emblem, they could obtain a magic power buff, and at a critical moment, by shouting, "We’re the mages of Fairy Tail," they could turn the tables on their enemies. Based on this benefit alone, he, Evan, had to join Fairy Tail!
Speaking of which, if this kind of amplification could be controlled at will, according to the exaggerated performances Evan had seen in the original work in his past life, he felt that with Irene's strength, if she shouted, "I’m a mage of Fairy Tail!" as long as her idealistic power was sufficient, she might even be able to finish off Little Black Acnologia...
Of course, Evan was just thinking about it. After all, this thing was too mysterious and idealistic. It might be useful for others, but it wasn't necessarily useful on Evan or Irene...
"Crunch~"
Erza peeled off the skin of the Devil Fruit and took a bite.
"Ugh..."
Instantly, her cute little face scrunched up into a ball.
Because Erza had thought that the fruit would be very delicious, she intentionally took a large bite, however...
"So disgusting...
Big Brother Evan and Mommy actually lied to me..."
She suddenly felt that there was no way for her to get through this birthday of hers.
"Erza, imagine that you can attract all of the items made of iron here."
Evan gently rubbed the girl’s small head and spoke softly.
The ability of the Paramecia-type Magnet-Magnet Fruit wasn’t limited to attracting ferromagnetic substances such as iron, nickel, cobalt, and other metals.
But for Erza, who had just eaten the Devil Fruit, attracting and manipulating such metals should be considered the simplest operation of her new power, just like Captain Kid of the One Piece world.
"Hmm?!"
After hearing her big brother’s words, Erza was stunned for a moment, and then she did as she was told.
Instantly, all the knives and forks inside the room floated up...
"So magical!"
Erza looked at the flying utensils, her eyes lighting up. She manipulated them as easily as commanding a part of her body.
"This is the effect of that fruit!"
Evan looked at Erza, who had already initially learned to manipulate the Devil Fruit ability in a mere instant, and revealed a trace of a smile as he spoke.
"I knew it! The gift my big brother had given me was indeed very special!"
Erza took back her previous words.
"Is it magnetic force?"
Irene looked at Erza, who could freely manipulate metal, and instantly distinguished what ability the Devil Fruit her little girl had eaten gave.
‘If it's magnetic force, hehe...
Probably all iron-attribute mages will cry, right? Even some lightning-attribute mages will be completely hard-countered~’
Irene looked gently at Evan and Erza while silently thinking this in her heart.
Yes, many years later, during the conflict between the two great guilds, Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord, Erza developed a new technique named ‘Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Gajeel Flying Sword!’
At this time, the young Gajeel still didn’t know his future fate.
-------------------------------------
T/N - Lol, that ending. Usually, I don’t like the “future spoilers” style of writing. But for humorous non-essential stuff like this, I do like it and it makes me anticipate future chapters. Poor Gajeel 😂
Also, the Belserion family will be joining Fairy Tail. The idea of Irene actually joining Fairy Tail is bonkers to me, the guild’s about to get a massive boost in firepower. And maybe Gildarts will most likely get beaten up by Irene as well (it’s been more than a year since I last read this novel, so I don’t remember much details of it).
