Super Shopping Spree
After sweeping the lingerie store clean, Xiao Yi headed into the adjacent Adidas shop.
Adidas shoes had always been the stuff of his dreams.
But from childhood right up to now, he'd only ever bought one pair with his own hard-earned cash.
To his rich-kid classmates, they were pocket change. To Xiao Yi, though, they were a luxury he could never justify.
But not anymore.
"Fuck! They're all mine now!" Xiao Yi barked, shoveling every shoe off the shelves into his Space Bag in one frenzied sweep.
He grabbed a few random sets of sportswear next, then pivoted to his next mark.
Gazing at the glittering watch counters.
Xiao Yi grinned.
Patek Philippe.
He'd once sworn that when he struck it rich, he'd snag one of these beauties.
Screw that—he'd been broke as shit back then.
But now? Every last one of these watches was his.
Xiao Yi cleaved the counter open with a single slash of his Sin Blade, dumping all the ladies' timepieces into his Space Bag.
Then he picked out a few he liked for himself.
He turned and strode into the next jewelry store.
"IDO—they say one person can only buy one ring at IDO." Xiao Yi recalled the cheesy ad slogan.
"Fuck that one-ring-per-person crap."
Xiao Yi spat.
Bang! Bang! Bang! He smashed every counter to hell.
Sweeping all the exorbitant baubles into his bag in a glittering avalanche.
Next up: Chanel and Gucci luxury boutiques.
Tens of thousands in perfume, handbags, designer threads—whatever.
Xiao Yi crammed it all into his Space Bag.
Of course, he didn't overlook the essentials either.
Lighters, batteries, candles, towels, toothpaste, toothbrushes—the works. He loaded up his Space Bag with piles of daily necessities.
"Gotta grab some meds!" Xiao Yi snapped his fingers and bolted for a pharmacy on the fourth floor.
Diarrhea pills, cold remedies—those were non-negotiable.
And birth control, obviously.
This was the end times; knocking up any of his harem girls would just be begging for headaches.
Condoms? Hell no.
Xiao Yi despised that plastic barrier feel.
Ultra-thin, ribbed, dotted—didn't matter.
He hated them all.
Xiao Yi believed in one truth: skin on skin, that raw, real sensation.
With his Space Bag stuffed to bursting, Xiao Yi turned to leave, satisfied.
But the moment he stepped out of the pharmacy, a group surrounded him—armed to the teeth, helmets on, bodies wrapped in makeshift armor.
Axes, cleavers, and one guy even packing what looked like an M4 rifle.
Xiao Yi tensed for a split second, but quickly clocked it: toy air gun.
"Who the hell are you? How'd you get in here?"
The leader, a woman, gripped an iron rod topped with a lashed-on bayonet, edging closer to Xiao Yi.
She leveled the rod at him, eyes sharp behind her helmet.
Helmet hid her face, but her voice? Smooth and pleasing.
That's when Xiao Yi noticed: the whole scavenging squad was women.
He was about to bail, but curiosity about their shelter sparked. Smirking, he said, "School survivor. Looking for a safe spot."
She sized him up. "Lucky bastard—made it from campus without ending up zombie chow. Upstairs is our shelter. You can join."
"Thanks," Xiao Yi replied, feigning sincerity.
She nodded. "Follow us."
A nearby mature woman grabbed a walkie-talkie. "Got a new survivor."
A man's voice crackled back: "Give him a proper welcome."
Something slimy in the guy's tone, but Xiao Yi shrugged it off.
He trailed them up the escalator to a heavy iron door. The woman knocked a rhythmic pattern.
The door creaked open. She stepped in first.
Xiao Yi scanned the surroundings, then followed the rest inside.
First sight: a young punk with a crew of guys closing in.
The leader brandished a masterfully crafted crossbow, smirking with smug arrogance. "Welcome to the seven-meters-above-ground safe haven! Jiang City's safest, richest survivor hub. I'm the freshly elected boss here—Zhou Zhengyu."
Xiao Yi scoffed inwardly but played along with a nod. "Xiao Yi. Jiang City University student."
A scarred thug beside Zhou Zhengyu tilted his head, leering at Xiao Yi's Sin Blade. He sneered, "Nice chopper. Fork it over—let me have a play."
Gripping his axe, the scarred man lumbered forward, murder in his eyes.
Xiao Yi shot him a icy glare, fingers tightening on his blade.
If these assholes made a move, he'd paint this shithole red right now.
No threats would sleep easy beside him.
These survivors had two choices.
One: kneel as his slaves.
Two: die screaming.
