I'll Go With You
Xiao Yi's sudden appearance plunged everyone on the gymnasium rooftop into sheer terror.
The image of him butchering that hulking zombie moments ago was still vivid in their minds. Staring at the machete in his hand—still dripping fresh blood—everyone trembled uncontrollably.
Shen Jiabin clutched his baseball bat, stepping forward on shaking legs. "What... what do you want?"
Xiao Yi glanced at him and frowned.
He remembered his freshman year, full of youthful fire, when he'd gone to try out for the basketball team.
The reviewers in charge? None other than Shen Jiabin and Gu Fanghua standing right there!
Not only had they rejected him outright without a second thought, but they'd mocked him in front of a crowd of classmates—called him a level-10 cripple.
"You were the one who flipped me off earlier, right?" Xiao Yi asked, his face expressionless.
"So what if I was? Xiao Yi, yeah? I know you! We're all classmates here. You risked your neck coming to save us—we're grateful. Whatever you want, name it!" Shen Jiabin gripped his bat tighter, testing the waters.
"Who said I came to save you lot?"
Xiao Yi sneered coldly. Without another word, he lunged forward, snatched the bat from Shen Jiabin's grasp, and cracked him hard across the face. "I'm here to beat some fucking sense into you, you worthless shit! Next time you provoke me, I'll kill you!"
Finished, Xiao Yi's gaze shifted to Tang Jingyan standing behind Shen Jiabin.
"I'm only taking one person back to my shelter this time. But my shelter? Women only."
Xiao Yi hadn't planned to give a damn about these people's fate. But the instant he laid eyes on Tang Jingyan, his mind changed.
He recalled his roommate's old line: If I could land the yoga goddess, I'd unlock every position with her.
Xiao Yi didn't lack for beautiful women anymore. Pure looks-wise, Tang Jingyan might not even top Ling Xueya.
But her body was perfection—and she was the yoga goddess.
Those two traits alone were every man's wet dream.
Xiao Yi was a red-blooded man. He wanted her.
If Tang Jingyan was game to come along, he'd take her, no question.
The other two girls weren't knockout stunners, but they were easy on the eyes.
As a little variety in life? Xiao Yi wouldn't mind hauling them back too.
"Cuz! You okay?!" Tang Jingyan rushed to her cousin's side as he clutched his face, shooting Xiao Yi a furious glare. "Sorry, but we don't need your help!"
Shen Jiabin nursed the blazing red handprint on his cheek, his eye twitching, fists balled white-knuckled.
But not a word escaped his lips.
That blood-smeared machete in Xiao Yi's hand...
He was terrified.
The other three guys gripped their weapons, but none dared move a muscle.
"Suit yourselves. I'm out." Xiao Yi turned toward the edge, ready to leap off the roof.
That's when Lin Mancha seemed to steel herself. She bolted to his side. "I'm Lin Mancha. I'll go with you! Please, take me?"
Her outburst stunned the group. Zhuang Qiang's eyes bulged. "Fuck! Knew that bitch was a spineless traitor!"
He'd been lusting after Lin Mancha forever—practically had her in the bag—and now this rando swoops in? Rage boiled over.
Xiao Yi turned, genuinely surprised, and sized her up.
Lin Mancha's delicate almond eyes blinked with innocent sparkle—pure, lively, like a crystal spring.
Her dainty nose was flawless, not a pore or blemish in sight.
Cherry lips pressed tight in eager anticipation.
A natural-born pure beauty.
And that ballet skirt? Miss Lin Mancha was clearly a graceful ballerina.
"I can take you. My shelter's got three other girls already—you'll have company. But once you're in, you follow my rules. My word is law."
Xiao Yi approved of her looks and pedigree, but he warned her sternly all the same. "Think it over. Break the rules, get booted? You'll die ugly out there."
"Mancha! Are you nuts?! We don't know shit about this guy, and you're just following him? What if he plans to... to do something to you?!" Tang Jingyan yelled at her.
"And they haven't planned the same for me?!"
Tears streaming, Lin Mancha jabbed a finger at Zhuang Qiang and the rest, sneering coldly. "They don't even have the balls to forage for food. Safe with that? At least this stranger can keep me alive!"
She turned back to Xiao Yi, nodding with resolve. "I've decided. I'll go with you!"
That slap to Shen Jiabin's face? It had laid bare their uselessness.
She flashed back to the meeting—Zhuang Qiang and Shen Jiabin's bullshit—and it sealed her choice.
Yeah, this guy might claim her body. But his raw power? She'd survive longer, thrive better in this hellworld.
"Good." Xiao Yi nodded, scooped an arm around her slim waist, hoisted her onto his back, and descended the building.
