The Utility of Divine Heads
In the holographic projection floating within the void of the Main God Temple in the Dimensional Divine Realm amid the Otherworld War, nine Main God Lords had appeared. They were every single individual connected to this matter. The twenty-six pairs of wings of light shining from each of their backs brilliantly illuminated the temple, while the gleam of fighting spirit in their eyes radiated overwhelming pressure. The intense radiance emitted by their authorities was so overpowering that the other Main Gods instinctively closed their eyes for a moment, unable to look directly at them. Thanks to the Main God Lords’ full-power divine energy deployment, the screen could only capture blurry outlines of light.
Yet the Dimensional Mage God remained completely unmoved. He simply watched them with an expression that suggested a yawn might escape at any moment.
“…….”
Pathetic. At least try to make it convincing.
A full-power divine energy release from mid-tier Creator God level Main God Lords might be enough to crush ordinary Main Gods with unbearable pressure, but it meant nothing to him, who possessed the divinity of a high-ranking Creator God. Far from feeling intimidated, he had grown so accustomed to encountering far higher divinities through endless requests involving exalted beings that this display was almost comical.
After dealing exclusively with such lofty figures, reacting to something of this caliber feels ridiculous. Still, nine of them gathered at once does make it quite bright.
Having now directly assessed each Main God Lord’s capabilities, the Dimensional Mage God confirmed what he already knew: the outcome of this Main God Temple hearing was already decided. These nine Main God Lords were a force he could handle using nothing more than the authority of a twelve-circle Mage God. With his additional qualification as Origin of the Dimensional Clan, they could not possibly stand against him as enemies. The only thing he felt was boredom at having to endure this unavoidable procedure merely to reduce future political headaches.
And it was the Main God Lords themselves who began to panic when their combined full-power divine energy deployment elicited no reaction whatsoever from the Dimensional Mage God.
Our full-power divine energy release appears to have zero effect. Is this a bluff?
If it’s a bluff, there should at least be some response in his own divine energy, yet there isn’t even a hint.
Surely the evaluation hasn’t been wrong again?
Impossible. The Creator God King personally inspected it recently. There hasn’t been time to make adjustments.
Who would dare tamper with the rankings or evaluations right now and invite disaster?
The hierarchical evaluations maintained by the Creation Realm had already suffered one massive upheaval after the Creator God King caught wind of previous manipulations and flexibility. The system had only recently stabilized after being completely overhauled. All previously responsible parties had lost their positions, been exiled to the Spirit Realm, or been stripped of authority and power under the guise of “special duty,” plummeting from grace. Given how recent those punishments were, there was no way new problems could have already surfaced.
An awkward silence stretched between the Dimensional Mage God, whose face showed nothing but boredom, and the Main God Lords, who could not conceal their growing panic.
Then an irritated voice erupted from the Dimensional Mage God.
Having become Main God Lords, they had never heard such provocative language. They were momentarily stunned, yet no anger rose within them. No—they had to be extremely cautious. Behind the Dimensional Mage God stood the Origin of the Wind Family, an existence that was truly terrifying in every sense of the word.
The reason they had ignored an official document that bordered on a declaration of war and urgently requested this video conference was an ultra-emergency directive issued by the Creation Realm.
The managing Creator God who oversaw all administrative affairs in the 499th Master Universe had been so desperate that he had bypassed every approval procedure and sent the document directly to each Main God Realm.
It has been notified that the Origin of the Wind Family of Dimensions will be residing in the Dimensional Divine Realm. As this is an official visit permitted by the Creator, take every measure to ensure no problems arise. Should any issues occur, they will absolutely not be tolerated. Responsibility will be assigned not to any individual but to the entire affiliated group, and all follow-up measures will be left to you.
The usual lengthy, flowery language had been entirely omitted. The tone was curt and laced with vicious threats. It even made the intention crystal clear: collective responsibility would be enforced, and all subsequent cleanup would be dumped on them. It officially declared that if damage related to the Wind Family’s Origin could not be compensated by an individual, the entire clan would be dragged in to pay.
Upon reading it, the managing Main Gods had screamed warnings in unison.
Since the Origin of the Wind Family has officially intervened in the Master Universe, they are treating any problems as inevitable and shifting all responsibility onto us. This is the tyranny of a superior.
If the Origin of the Wind Family has received official permission to intervene, they possess authority equal to the Creator. No Creator God can handle that.
From past experience, problems involving the Origin of the Wind Family could not be endured by any single individual. The situation had reached the point where a formal challenge to the taming of superiors could spark a Main God War. It was clearly intentional. They had protested, of course, but the only reply they received was the nonchalant remark that there would be no problem if they simply prevented any accidents.
The even greater issue was that most Creator Gods had left their seats in the Creation Realm to repair the boundary between the Master Universe and the Absolute Realm. This left the Main God Lords as the highest authorities present.
Any mistake now could drag not only themselves but their entire clans into catastrophic consequences. Naturally, they had no choice but to proceed with extreme caution. Their clans’ very fates could be on the line. A war over insubordination was completely out of the question.
At a time when all the Creator Gods have left to restore the boundary between the Master Universe and the Absolute Realm, the Origin of the Wind Family has chosen to intervene directly? No matter what, we must avoid anything that connects us to the Origin of the Wind Family. If something like the Substitute Race incident happens again, our entire clans could be purged. This is no longer about trivial emotions.
From the position of clan leaders rather than individuals, the Main God Lords all bowed their heads at once in perfect, respectful unison.
“We greet the rank one Main God Lord, the Dimensional Mage God. We hope you are well.”
Though the tone was somewhat stiff and many pleasantries had been omitted, it was a flawless, courteous greeting.
Of course, the Dimensional Mage God, who understood exactly why they had suddenly become so polite, only grew angrier.
Their perception of me hasn’t changed at all. They’re only acting like this because the Dimensional Origin is standing behind me.
If that presence weren’t there, they would surely have attacked him again. The realization filled him with nothing but irritation.
I need to wrap this up quickly and head to the Otherworld, yet it looks like this conversation is going to drag on.
Moreover, having been completely suppressed by the Dimensional Origin—an opponent they could never face—they now saw an easy target before them. Their accumulated resentment and suppressed tempers were beginning to surface.
“…….”
At the Dimensional Mage God’s thunderous command to sever and deliver their own necks, the faces of the management gods visible beyond the screen turned deathly pale. With the Origin of the Wind Family currently staying in the Dimensional Divine Realm, the situation had deteriorated so badly that they truly had to fear for their lives.
If it’s not my neck, I should insist on swift execution.
It was fortunate they held the essential role of overseeing Main God Realm operations. Had they been ordinary Main Gods, they would already be finished.
As the Main God Lords watched the Dimensional Mage God act so outrageously, their own suppressed emotions began to surge. However, a powerful will crushed everyone’s feelings at once.
Stop for a moment. I will step forward as the representative according to the plan.
One face within the video feed enlarged, revealing a flawless appearance. Though still blurry, this individual possessed the strongest divine power and authority among them.
“I am Lady First, ranked second among the Main God Lords. My Creator God name is Feminist. Without the management gods, administration of the Main God Realms would be paralyzed and their functions would deteriorate. That contradicts the purpose of the Main God Realms as the defensive fortresses of the Creation Realm. I ask that you reconsider this as the rank one Main God Lord. If you desire, we will offer compensation through other means.”
To an outside observer, it was an extremely reasonable response. To the Dimensional Mage God, however, it was pure comedy. Possessing the highest Creator divinity independently and capable of producing a Main God divinity within a single year, there was no compensation these mere Main God Lords could offer that would satisfy him. Besides, he would have to continue working with them, making proper compensation difficult to arrange. To receive only a worthless formal letter of apology after everything he had endured was simply too unfair.
Above all, a mere verbal apology held no value for him whatsoever.
“…….”
For Main God Lords, any weakening of the Main God Realms was to be avoided at all costs. Yet Feminist was gradually growing sick of the Dimensional Mage God, who behaved like a common thug stubbornly demanding his subordinates’ heads.
Still, since he had been the one to step forward and steer the atmosphere in this direction, he had to clean up the mess. A sudden question occurred to him.
“May I ask why you demand the necks of the management gods so insistently? From what I see now, it does not appear to be a simple example you wish to make.”
“…….”
The Dimensional Mage God was momentarily speechless at the perfectly reasonable question. After venting his anger once, his cool reason had returned. He had the distinct feeling that he had done nothing wrong, yet the back of his head began to throb painfully.
Ugh—! Has something displeased the Dimensional Origin? If so, I might suffer that same fate again.
He recalled the memory of a casual flick of a finger sending him to the brink of death, piercing straight through the temples of the Dimensional Divine Realm before slamming him into the outer wall.
Above all, the way Feminist naturally sowed doubt and drew in the goodwill of those around him to legitimize his argument was utterly repulsive to someone who had survived alone through his own power. He could already see his own Main Gods slowly beginning to side with Feminist’s opinion.
Aaah—! This pattern again? How utterly tiresome.
“If the reason is not reasonable, then please reconsi—”
Sensing the atmosphere shifting in his favor, Feminist continued speaking in that smooth, flowing manner. However, as the superior and the strong one, the Dimensional Mage God had no obligation to entertain such nonsense.
With the Dimensional Origin present, there is no time to waste on this ridiculous chatter.
Boom—!
When the Dimensional Mage God lightly waved his hand, a tremendous roar shook the air as two spears embedded themselves in the center of the round table clearly visible to everyone on the screen. Then the Dimensional Mage God’s voice, filled with cold killing intent, rang out.
Aooooooo—! Kuaaaaaaaa—!
Embedded like grotesque decorations at the junction between spear blade and shaft were the heads of demon gods. These were the very demon gods who had targeted him back when he was still a black mage before becoming the God of War. Foolishly, they had manifested in the Middle World.
The instant the spear blades drove into the round table, their heads smashed against it, unleashing endless screams mixed with accumulated pain and despair. The sound was so chilling it raised goosebumps across the entire Main God Temple.
Although only a short time had passed in real time, they had endured twenty thousand years of combat on the Wind Star of Black Flame and thirty thousand years of training together. They had grown stronger alongside the Dimensional Mage God, yet for tens of thousands of years they had been used solely as auxiliary calculation devices for magic with only their heads impaled on these spears. Their rage and hopelessness now flooded the Main God Temple.
The Dimensional Mage God’s divine speech, as if mocking them, shook the temple with even greater force.
The miserable screams and horrific sight—enough to sicken even members of the demon race—had appeared so suddenly that no one could respond. The open declaration that he would sever their necks and repurpose them as auxiliary calculation devices left the management gods on the verge of fainting.
Yet the Dimensional Mage God was equally desperate.
I am being forcibly dispatched to the Otherworld as Truth Deputy. They say to handle it roughly, but mistakes will not be tolerated.
After preparing everything he could and conducting thorough investigations, the problems only multiplied. As a fugitive, his power was more than sufficient—overflowing, even. But as Truth Deputy, no amount of strength seemed enough. No matter how much he prepared, it still felt insufficient.
The greatest problem is that the immense computing power and creative ability I have always taken the most pride in are difficult to utilize perfectly for missions in the Otherworld.
Having a flaw appear in the one area he trusted most made him feel backed into the final corner.
Even the Divine Spirit Purgatory has its limits. My current computing power is not enough to fully exercise my authority in the Otherworld. Since I cannot increase my computing power any further at this moment, I must secure additional means by any method necessary. The necks of the management gods who oversee the Main God Realms would provide perfect auxiliary computing support for divine energy and authority. There is no chance I will let this opportunity slip.
To the Dimensional Mage God, an opportunity to grow stronger was far more important than revenge for insubordination. There was no way a Mage God like himself would miss the chance to acquire, in bulk, the heads of management gods who possessed computing power superior to that of Creator Gods.
