The Finger Flick from the Origin
The Otherworld War. Yet the Dimensional Mage God knew almost nothing about the Goddess Department. All he remembered was that they had plastered the entire Divine Realm with Goddess Only rules, to the point where male gods could no longer walk the main streets without looking over their shoulders.
Even the morning commute to the Main God Temple was Goddess Only, so I smashed every last one of those. After that, I stopped paying attention.
In the early days after the Dimensional Mage God first entered the Divine Realm as the War God, he had utterly crushed the Goddess Department and every goddess who dared pick a fight with him. After that, they left him alone. Once he became the Main God of the Divine Realm, he had been frantically taking on mercenary work anywhere he could to build a solid foundation for his survival. He simply hadn’t had the bandwidth to care.
There were no reports of any major problems with the Goddess Department, so I let it slide in the beginning.
Besides, the existing male gods had adapted to some degree. Changing things just because the new Main God disliked them would only stir up controversy. He had deliberately avoided any conflict that might spark a feud with the chief goddesses of the Goddess Alliance.
But who could have guessed that the Origin of the Wind Family would look into this? If I had known, I would have dismantled the whole thing completely. I screwed up.
Regret, no matter how swift, was already too late. Now he had to resolve this mess.
Yet no matter how hard the Dimensional Mage God—who was also the Main God of the Divine Realm—thought about it, he still had no clear idea what the Goddess Department actually did.
They devour massive amounts of vitality, but I’ve never once received a proper results report. When I casually summoned the staff to ask, they would all stand there on the verge of tears, saying nothing. It annoyed me so much that I simply cut their vitality allocation and moved on.
He hurriedly pulled reference materials from his mind, only to regret it instantly. Seen through the desperate eyes of a supreme ruler, no department was more pathetic.
The Goddess Department’s stated purpose is to protect the rights of goddesses, who are supposedly weaker than male gods. But why must male gods suffer losses to protect those rights? Are goddesses truly so weak they cannot survive without male protection? Yet they shout their demands so boldly. It doesn’t seem like they’re begging for pity—they’re demanding rights as the weak. What rights can the weak possibly demand from the strong? They remain weak, refuse to grow stronger, and simply insist on concessions and consideration? And now that I look closer… what exactly does this department even do? There are almost no result reports tied to the vitality they consume. Only plausible statistics and plans. No evidence, no usage outcomes, not even performance reports. What is this nonsense? How could anyone defend it?
His distaste for the Goddess Department only deepened.
Even as the Main God of the Divine Realm, the Dimensional Mage God knew that uttering anything displeasing to the Origin of the Wind Family—a blood relative of Jinri—could get him killed on the spot.
The Truth prioritizes the strong and reorganizes the order of all worlds accordingly.
In the order ruled by the Truth, there was no value in advocating for the weak who could not survive alone and merely begged for help.
Anything weak that does not contribute to progress will not be forgiven by the Truth. The fact that the Truth, serving as co-creator, established a department in the 499th Master Universe’s highest Creator God-level Divine Realm that mass-produces weakness… that would never be tolerated. Now that I see it clearly, if the Goddess Department were exposed beyond the Creation Realm, it wouldn’t just invite ridicule—it would cause a catastrophe. It only survived this long because it was tucked away in a remote, independent divine realm.
Someone like the Dimensional Mage God might have let it slide with a shrug, but any superior who strictly followed the principle of development-first would have impeached it immediately. Even he, newly arrived in the Divine Realm, understood this. His subordinate Lord Gods could not possibly be ignorant. That was why they all kept their heads bowed to the floor, terrified of making eye contact with the one now forced to shoulder the entire blame.
You people created it and ran it! Explain it in a way he can accept! Why did you even make something you can’t justify?
Watching his subordinate Lord Gods avert their eyes, the Dimensional Mage God suppressed the inferno raging in his chest and frantically searched for anything positive about the Goddess Department. Naturally, he found nothing. Since he himself had disliked it most in the entire Divine Realm, he had never bothered to consider its merits.
“What exactly is the Goddess Department? Why are there no results despite consuming so much vitality?”
The second time the Origin of the Wind Family asked, all playfulness had vanished from his voice. A bone-chilling killing intent rolled out instead.
It was too terrifying to even look up, and with nothing to say, the Dimensional Mage God’s head bowed to the floor on its own.
Then, suddenly, a surge of emotion erupted from deep inside him.
The Goddess Department wasn’t created by me, and I haven’t been Main God for very long. Why should I take all the responsibility? I have none! This is all the fault of that irresponsible former Main God of the Divine Realm—!
He knew it was absurd blame-shifting, but right now it was his only option.
Forcing his constantly drooping head upright, he spoke.
“The Goddess Department was created by my predecessor—”
The instant he tried to dump everything on his predecessor, stars exploded across the back of his skull.
His body was sent flying. The sensation of crashing into something was followed by a series of deafening roars.
The round table shattered into pieces upon colliding with the Dimensional Mage God’s flying body, sending fragments flying in every direction. The table had been created by the Main God of the Divine Realm using immortal authority—it should have been impossible to destroy. Yet this time, that authority proved useless.
The enormous round table, built at the highest Creator God level to seat hundreds of Lord Gods, split cleanly in half and exploded. The destruction didn’t stop there. It punched a perfectly clean hole through the wall of the Main God Temple, and the Dimensional Mage God’s body vanished into the far distance.
“……”
The Lord Gods stood completely frozen, staring back and forth between the round table now split in two and the massive hole in the Main God Temple’s main gate.
They couldn’t comprehend the attack that had struck the God of Knowledge at all, but they had clearly seen what the Origin of the Wind Family had just done to the Dimensional Mage God. It had not been an attack.
He simply tapped the back of the head with his finger as if to say ‘how pathetic,’ yet this is the result? No matter that he is the Origin of the Wind Family, isn’t this power completely absurd?
It was like lightly flicking the forehead of a baby throwing a tantrum for no reason, yet the outcome was an upper-tier Creator God being launched like a pebble through the air. The round table created with immortal authority and the Main God Temple—possessing the strongest durability in the entire Divine Realm—had both been destroyed.
Then the Origin of the Wind Family, who genuinely seemed flustered, spoke.
“Huh? Why did it turn out like this? Ah—right! I don’t have the Sword of Ruin and Soul with me right now. Still, is my power control truly this bad? Is it because we’re in a Master Universe?”
Separate from those words, the sounds of continued destruction echoed from far away, well beyond the round table and the temple wall.
No one knew how many temples in the Divine Realm had been destroyed, but the sounds of destruction only ceased after a long while. Even from that immense distance, they could sense the Dimensional Mage God’s divine power and life force dropping precariously.
“499th Master Universe’s Dimensional Origin! Are you still alive? Or have you already died? Shall I revive you right now?”
“……”
The Origin of the Wind Family spoke with absolute certainty that he was dead, yet no answer came from the Dimensional Mage God. The Lord Gods grew even more tense.
With a touch as casual as a joke, the Dimensional Mage God—whose power was so vast that even they, as Lord Gods, could not fully grasp it—had been reduced to a state where his survival was uncertain.
They once again keenly realized exactly what kind of existence the Origin of the Wind Family, who possessed over one thousand quadrillion in divine power, truly was within a Master Universe.
The Origin of the Wind Family let out a deep sigh as he looked at the Dimensional Mage God, who had been knocked unconscious by a mere tap meant to snap him out of his frustrating silence.
“Whew—! Without the Sword of Ruin and Soul, controlling my strength is difficult. Activities in the Master Universe will be troublesome. In that case, I suppose I should postpone lending the ‘Signature of the 10 Mainstays.’”
The moment those words left his mouth, a violent gale swept through the Main God Temple. The power of creation activated, bathing everything in brilliant light.
FLASH—!
The completely shattered round table and the temple wall were restored in an instant. In the seat of honor sat the Dimensional Mage God, looking completely nonchalant as if nothing had happened.
“Hahaha—! The atmosphere felt rather heavy, so I thought I’d play a small prank. This much is fine. As a Creator God of the 499th Master Universe, you may remain active as much as you wish.”
Of course, he was only saying this because he absolutely did not want to return the ‘Signature of the 10 Mainstays,’ which offered infinite research material. Having experienced it directly without any restraint, the Dimensional Mage God now understood that the Origin of the Wind Family was not an existence a mere Master Universe Creator God could contend with.
Right now I look perfectly fine, but the instant the Origin of the Wind Family’s finger touched the back of my head, my skull completely shattered. My body was sent flying, smashing into the table and wall, and nearly every bone in my body was pulverized in a single moment.
The Authority of Black Flame that had erupted from his fading consciousness had restored him. The title of Origin had replenished his depleted life force. And the magic of Reality Denial had completely erased the lingering aftereffects of the impact. That was how he had survived.
This was only possible because my body had been tempered by countless beatings from the Origin of the Mage God. In the past, that single blow would have killed me instantly.
The Origin of the Wind Family, having instantly analyzed the Dimensional Mage God’s physical condition, let out a sound of admiration.
“Ho? What splendid continuous activation of recovery, defense, and life-force authorities. As expected, it seems you received proper training from Grandfather Origin of the Mage God. His basic training philosophy is to take the weaknesses an enemy would target, temper them to the limit, and turn them into deadly traps instead. As a Mage God, with that level of resistance and recovery against such damage, you likely won’t die easily no matter how hard you are hit. But why didn’t you die? Upon checking, that impact should have been impossible for a Creator God’s body to endure. A Creator God’s authority cannot possibly work on an Eternal Being, correct? Is it not an authority but pure physical toughness? Shall I test it again?”
As the Origin poured out questions about why he hadn’t died and looked ready to experiment at any moment, the Dimensional Mage God answered urgently, face pale.
This was no situation for hiding information when he might become a test subject at any second.
“I don’t fully understand it myself. The Origin of the Mage God said that my body appears to have undergone a powerful transformation as the Authority of Black Flame and the defensive authority of the Incomprehensible Eight Founders took root in my instincts. The exact details were never confirmed. However, when I receive damage beyond my limits or lose consciousness, as I did just now, those authorities activate automatically. That is why I usually do not die from a single blow. I endured the descent of the Black Flame Absolute with this same method last time.”
“A Creator God’s body that can withstand even the descent of the Black Flame Absolute and remain intact? No—meaning there is no such thing as instant death from any blow. Was there ever an authority or body capable of that? Even the first Origin could not do so…”
It was essentially confessing in front of everyone that he could not even activate the authorities he had learned, but when those authorities belonged to the 10 Mainstays—the highest of all absolute authorities—there was no shame in it whatsoever.
Don’t call it sloppy. None of you could even imitate it.
Watching the Origin of the Wind Family and the surrounding Lord Gods sit with their mouths agape, lost in thought after hearing his explanation, the Dimensional Mage God let out a small sigh of relief.
It seems the Goddess Department matter has been glossed over. Thank the heavens.
To the Origin of the Wind Family, who stood on equal footing with the Creator, the affairs of a single department in a mere Master Universe Divine Realm held no value. Since it had merely displeased him, diverting his interest elsewhere allowed the matter to pass.
I must proceed quickly so he loses interest in the Divine Realm once more. He intends to remain here until the rebellion is suppressed and we depart for the Otherworld.
Just thinking about the problems the Origin of the Wind Family might cause made his head spin. Although the Origin treated such things as jokes, the Dimensional Mage God—who had to endure the consequences—would have his life on the line, not just the Divine Realm.
I need to head to the Otherworld as quickly as possible. Any delay could mean the end.
The silver lining was that the Dimensional Divine Realm’s war preparations had always been on the verge of civil war, leaving them in perfect condition. The Main Divine Realm was practically begging to begin immediately. The thrill of war and the proof of power experienced while clashing with Almighty Hwi and the Main God Temple had caused the warriors’ fighting spirit to rise without limit.
If he made only minor adjustments to the power distribution between the Main Divine Realm and the Dimensional Divine Realm, there would be no issues at all.
The longer I drag things out under the pretext of further preparations, the bigger the problem becomes. It is not that the enemy will grow stronger. The larger and more delayed this matter grows, the more likely I—already in a precarious position—will self-destruct.
Having made up his mind to begin at once, the Dimensional Mage God summoned the administrative Lord Gods and Creator Candidates standing by in the Main Divine Realm for battle preparations via holographic communication and issued his orders directly.
“Connect every Lord God Realm. I will give the orders personally. Any realm whose administrative Lord God does not apologize with their head will immediately receive a declaration of war.”
“Understood. However, the second-ranked Lord God Chief Feminist and the other Lord God Chiefs have requested a video conference and are currently waiting.”
“Connect them immediately.”
There was no time to hesitate.
The Dimensional Mage God had roughly analyzed why he had survived the Origin of the Wind Family’s finger tap, but it seemed the Origin was about to rummage through the Dimensional Divine Realm’s data again to see if additional materials were needed. Yet when the figures of the Lord God Chiefs appeared in the air of the Main God Temple for the video call, the Origin stopped searching the divine records and turned his attention to them. The Dimensional Mage God breathed a sigh of relief.
I survived. Why are my own allies more dangerous than the enemy?
He still didn’t fully understand how things had come to this, but in his current state of extreme anxiety, he had realized one clear truth: the only path to survival was to push forward as quickly as possible.
