Violence, the True All-Purpose Solution
The former main gods of the Spirit Realm knew roughly what the Dimensional Lord would do if they started a fight without the Chief God of the God Realm’s permission. ‘Dispose of them all and seal them away, operating only with their authorities and divine ranks.’ After bickering endlessly with no resolution, they had come to the Dimensional Lord.
Because the matter involved a sensitive position, the three vanguards who had once led the revolution against the tyranny of the old Spirit Realm waiting area, along with the two self-proclaimed hermits who had tried to hide as upper gods until the very end, had all flocked here at once.
‘Watching a total of ten main gods simultaneously offering up what little divine power they have left with everything they’ve got is like watching baby chicks peeping. It’s almost cute.’
If they ever regained their original strength it might be different, but seeing them fight over who was superior when none of them could withstand a single blow from him brought on a pounding headache. ‘And looking at the faces of the newly hired spirit main gods, flushed red with excitement, is genuinely exhausting.’
At the very top of the organizational chart resting on the sofa table sat, as expected, the Lord of the Flipside, Lokina. Considering all of their pasts, it was the only reasonable choice. The seat of leader or representative could not be decided by authority or raw power alone; it required both talent and experience.
‘As for me, I lack experience, so I either press them into complete submission through shared interests like vitality recovery or drag them along with benefits. But that isn’t something just anyone can do.’
Right now, among all of them, she was the only one capable of handling those who had just transferred from spirit gods. She understood better than anyone that becoming the representative of a group as a main god brought not only authority but also heavy responsibility, so she would never make sloppy personnel decisions.
When he glanced down the neatly lined list beneath her, the structure was so perfectly arranged that he himself would have done it exactly the same way. It was an ideal distribution of posts that took each individual’s traits and authorities into account.
So he frowned and asked, “What’s the problem? I built this considering everyone’s abilities and authorities.”
Immediate backlash flew back at him.
“I am strong. More competent than any of these fools. So why am I stuck as the main god in charge of supplies and entertainment? Review the report and fix it right now! Behold my power of creation!”
Glug! Glug!
The moment the Dimensional Lord spoke, a half-naked goddess covered in tattoos began chugging straight from a liquor bottle as if she had been waiting for the cue. The information he had already memorized rose automatically in his mind.
‘Kurkana, the Flying Serpent of the Blue Sky. A main god who drank her own divine kingdom into ruin, and she dares to drink again right in front of me, the Chief God of the God Realm? Are you the god of alcohol or a main god? In the 499th Master Universe where nothing but war ever breaks out, where would we even use a god of alcohol?’
Naturally, a feeling close to rage surged up inside him. He wondered why these beings felt so strangely familiar; the emotion rose from the very bottom of his heart.
‘A subordinate who offers fervent loyalty to the Chief God of the God Realm with no conditions attached really does seem like something that only exists in stories.’ Even though he had given them favorable contract terms, this was the result. His emotions were steadily rising when an anomaly occurred.
Ruuuuumble—!
Sudden thunder roared inside the office, and his gaze instinctively shot upward. Dark clouds gathered above the high office of the Main God Temple. An extremely rich aroma of alcohol spread through the air.
Shhhhhhhhh—!
A sudden downpour of liquor rain began to fall. It poured not only inside the office but across the entire Spirit Realm waiting area outside. In the absurd situation, he didn’t even think to block it and simply got soaked.
As the pungent yet fragrant alcohol rain drenched his entire body, genuine fury finally boiled over.
‘These people now belong to me, yet they’re using their power of creation to make alcohol rain fall across the entire Spirit Realm waiting area.’ This alone would make them a permanent laughingstock throughout the Main Divine Realm. Even if he himself did nothing, responsibility for all their actions would fall squarely on the Dimensional Lord as Chief God of the God Realm.
‘What kind of humiliating spectacle is this? Do I really have to bring these things back to the Divine Realm? They don’t work, they just drink from dawn to dusk, and if I force them they’ll probably just rain alcohol everywhere. Should I seal them right now and only use their divine ranks and authorities? That seems better. But what about the protests from the Main Divine Realm over my unilateral punishment of main gods? Argh! These bastards—!’
Creaaaaak—!
Ding! Ding! Di-ding!
The incomplete bio-armor of the machine god let out a cacophony of noises from the power he had unconsciously poured into his body.
‘As expected, you can’t start subordinate management nicely. You have to smash them completely from the beginning.’ He had momentarily forgotten the basic rule that if a superior begins politely, inferiors assume they aren’t feared and immediately challenge them. He was even beginning to doubt whether these beings would be of any use at all.
While he wrestled with those thoughts, the female main god who had caused this mess burst into loud laughter and shouted.
“Kahaha—! Behold my power of creation, which manifests even within the creator-level authority of vitality absorption! This is my power! This is my authority! I am superior!”
Crack! Crack!
He finally felt something snap inside his head, but he had to endure. However, since he was not a dark god but the god of light, he was generous and merciful.
‘If I kill or annihilate main gods who have formal contracts—not even spirit main gods—a massive investigation will descend from the Main Divine Realm.’ It wasn’t endurance. Everything was simply tolerance befitting the god of light.
He lightly snapped his fingers.
Snap!
"Clash Planet."
"Continuous Compressed Manifestation."
Countless tiny stars plummeted and crushed the main gods beneath them.
Kwaaaaaaaaang—!
“Kyaaak—!”
“Kyaahk—!”
“A-as expected, I knew it would be like this—! Keuk—!”
“I-it wasn’t a complaint, it was an ad-adjustment—waaak—!”
Varied screams rose from the main gods pinned under the stars. Yet their mouths remained very much alive, spitting protests from every direction. He cut them all off with a single phrase.
“Joint responsibility—!”
They would all have the same excuse anyway, and handling them separately was annoying. The planets, compressed to the size of boulders, slammed down onto the main gods’ heads and drove them straight into the floor without exception. He had meticulously adjusted the size and gravity of each one according to their individual divine power so that only their heads protruded, then crushed them.
If their divine power operation weakened even slightly, even a main god’s body would be pulverized instantly. Seeing them resist the compressed mass and gravity of the giant planets threatening their lives with expressions of pure desperation—completely different from their earlier excitement—finally eased his mind a little.
In a slightly calmer voice he said, “I am generous. After all, I haven’t killed any of you.”
“……”
Leaving the speechless, seemingly moved gods where they were, he looked at the organizational chart again. Even Lokina, the Otherworld Lord, had been placed beneath a planet for the crime of failing to control the spirit main gods and dragging them all the way here.
‘I could have made an exception for the representative of the spirit gods, but the obvious scheming is simply too despicable.’
Since she couldn’t handle them herself, she had slyly tried to push the problem onto him.
‘Who are you trying to dump these headaches on again? Do you think I keep subordinates so they can live comfortably while I clean up their messes? Then why have subordinates at all? Just do everything yourself.’
Yet no matter how many times he reviewed it, the organizational structure was flawless.
‘Even if I had made it myself, I couldn’t have matched authorities and positions any better than this.’ It promised maximum efficiency and would not fall behind even the current structure of the Divine Realm. On top of that, the placement of the highest upper gods in the lower organization was nearly perfect.
‘So where exactly is the complaint coming from?’
He asked the main god responsible for the unprecedented event of raining alcohol across the entire Spirit Realm waiting area. Of course, he lifted the planet just enough for her to speak.
“Looking at your creative authority and current level of refinement, the supplies and entertainment post is clearly the right fit. So what exactly do you think is wrong?”
What burst out was a cry of utmost injustice.
“I was once a Main God of the Divine Realm! I will never play clown or manual laborer! Kyaaak—!”
Bang—!
There was no need to listen any further. He immediately slammed the planet back down on her.
‘If it were up to my temper I’d drop one more on her, but with my current divine power she would never survive it, so I endure.’ Perhaps they all said the same things.
‘Past glory and all that nonsense—if you ruined everything and failed, you should start again from the bottom. So what exactly are you doing, daring to demand the dignity of a Main God of the Divine Realm in front of the new Chief God? Are you telling me to serve you?’
If he brought them to the Divine Realm like this, they would undoubtedly conspire with the existing female main gods or start fighting among themselves.
‘I need to educate these things somehow before taking them to the Divine Realm.’ As the Chief God of the God Realm, he had to act rationally and reasonably. Since he was not a dark god, emotional violence like this would damage his reputation.
‘That’s right! I am the Chief God of the God Realm. As the god of light, I must show mercy and be tolerant toward my inferiors. I seem to have gotten a little excited, so let’s calm down and try again slowly.’
Lifting the planet slightly once more, he asked the exhausted, drunken goddess in the softest voice he could manage.
“So even though it perfectly matches your authority, it seems too lowly and you don’t want to do it?”
“I… I am a Main God of the Divine Realm… hic—! Hic—!”
Crack—!
Watching her cling to the title of Main God of the Divine Realm even while half-dead made veins bulge on his forehead automatically.
“If you’re a Main God of the Divine Realm, does that make me a subordinate main god? How dare you speak of rebellion to my face? Are you drunk?”
“Ack! Aaaack!”
As expected, for brainless creatures who couldn’t recognize their place, the whip was the only answer.
Bang—! Bang—! Bang—!
The planet rose inside the Main God Temple and slammed down repeatedly. The enormous roar echoed for a long time. Then a shout loud enough to shake the entire area outside burst forth.
“Am I the Chief God of the God Realm, or are you bastards the Chief Gods of the God Realm? Reason? Rationality? Tolerance? Mercy? Toward these mindless things? Don’t make me laugh—! If I give you the job you’re best at, you should just do it properly. So who the hell do you think you are, daring to distinguish between cold rice and hot rice in front of me? Choosing your work is something only well-born young masters get to do. A former mercenary god like me never had that luxury—! Do you even understand what it means to not be allowed to choose your work? Have you ever been forced to do something you hated without any compensation? Why are you throwing around romantic nonsense and making me remember my painful past? Fine. Let’s see who wins. I’ll make you feel in your very bones that violence is the true all-purpose solution.”
The highest-ranking upper spirit gods who had been eavesdropping on the situation from outside could no longer control their trembling bodies at the continuous crashing sounds that shook the entire Main God Temple like a giant mortar. They hurriedly fled the area.
They congratulated themselves on the wise decision to observe the mood of their superiors before acting, and carefully tore up every single position adjustment application form they held in their hands. They too had been shocked by the completely different posts assigned to them and had come to protest. But after seeing the main gods all rushing toward the Main God Temple and following along, they had witnessed the scene and lost all courage.
‘In all my eternal life, this is the first time I’ve seen a Chief God of the God Realm who compresses planets to beat other main gods.’ Seeing that he even applied joint responsibility and beat main gods simply for complaining about their positions, it was obvious that if they themselves had been the targets of discipline, the punishment would have been swift. Realizing once again that acting hastily in an organization usually leads to loss, the highest upper spirit gods withdrew with extreme caution, terrified that any noise might summon them inside.
Boom! Kuuuuuuuung!
Only after the Main God Temple of the Spirit Realm waiting area had shaken violently for a long time and finally fell silent did the highest upper spirit gods and administrator gods let out sighs of relief. When the highest main god had come personally to recruit spirit gods, the place had been such a mess that they had been extremely anxious. Sure enough, a catastrophic incident had erupted.
The highest upper administrator gods who had dared to scheme against the highest main god had all been killed, their bodies seized to recover the vitality they had stolen, and then exiled to the Spirit Realm. Internally they had cursed the fools for skimming a little here and there and challenging someone stronger, but from the current atmosphere it didn’t seem like things would end here.
‘Even though they’re spirit gods, they’re still main gods. Seeing them treated so brutally means that if anything goes even slightly wrong, a massive purge is coming.’ Moreover, that terrifying Chief God of the God Realm still held the authority to punish lower gods and forcibly summon the administrator gods of the Spirit Realm waiting area.
The seemingly easygoing Chief God of the God Realm and his direct main gods had obtained the vitality the highest administrators had been skimming, and now emanated fighting spirit so intense it gave goosebumps just to look at them while doing nothing but training. It was hard to believe this was the same god who had once called them one family and looked after each other’s shortcomings.
Just moments ago, after barely surviving the crisis of nearly being crushed to death by planets under the banner of joint responsibility and collective punishment, the gods had begged for mercy only to be instantly shut down.
‘The mistakes of spirit gods whose transfer is not yet complete are largely the result of the administrator gods’ lax oversight. The punishment is only natural.’
‘As long as it does not harm the Divine Realm, follow the will of the upper gods.’
