Adele let out a long, breathless gasp the moment she stepped out of the car. “Whoaaa…!”
Rows of vehicles lined the parking lot, and an absolutely massive crowd surged in every direction. Maybe it was because she had never been anywhere this crowded before, but she kept turning her head this way and that, eyes sparkling with pure wonder.
I approached her with a gentle smile and asked, “How is it?”
“There are so many people… an unbelievable number of them…! What if I lose you, Jihyeok?”
She was already worrying about getting lost. I couldn’t help but find it ridiculous.
“You can just call me on your phone. And while it’s busy, the crowd isn’t so thick that you’d get swept away. Don’t worry.”
“Understood…!”
“Let’s head in.”
When I gestured for her to come closer, Adele trotted over obediently and stood at attention right beside me. I let out a soft, amused chuckle, then circled around behind her and gave her shoulders a few light taps.
“I can see how tense you are. Relax. We’re just here to have fun.”
“Ah… yes…!”
As I massaged her shoulders, Adele let out a long, melting sigh. She didn’t show any sign of discomfort, which told me she either didn’t understand personal boundaries or simply didn’t mind skinship.
I continued kneading her shoulders slowly before asking, “Feeling better now?”
“Yes! It feels incredibly refreshing. Thank you, Jihyeok.”
“What did I tell you in the car?”
“Never use my powers! And if I sense anything suspicious, tell Jihyeok first!”
Adele answered with full confidence. Her voice was a little too loud, though, and several passersby glanced at us curiously as they walked by.
I scanned our surroundings, then raised a finger to my lips in warning. “This world is full of completely ordinary people. When you talk about abilities, never raise your voice.”
“Ah, I’m sorry…”
“I’m not scolding you, so don’t look so down. Just a moment…”
I opened the car door again and rummaged through the glove compartment and cup holder until I found a black hair tie and a few hairpins. They used to belong to the Doctor.
I walked over to Adele, who was standing there with wide, innocent eyes.
“Could you turn around for me?”
“Huh? Why?”
“Those little clips won’t hold up on the rides. If your hair comes loose it’ll be annoying, so I’ll tie it properly for you.”
“Really?”
Her emerald eyes sparkled as she quickly spun around. She must have been excited about a new hairstyle.
I removed the clips she was wearing. Her bright golden hair cascaded softly down past her shoulders in silky waves. Gathering the smooth strands in one hand, I carefully twisted and tied them into a neat bun on top of her head.
“Turn around again.”
“Okay!”
She hopped and spun 180 degrees to face me. I couldn’t help but grin at the adorable motion. Using my pinky, I gently teased out a few wispy strands around her face to soften the look.
Adele gazed up at me with those brilliant emerald eyes while I worked. They were filled with warmth—like a little puppy staring at its owner.
“All done.”
Finished, I reached out and lightly touched the round bun at the back of her head. Then I lifted my phone.
“Turn to the side. I’ll take a picture.”
She obediently shifted sideways and straightened her posture. The way her chest pushed forward against the plain white t-shirt, the faint outline of her bra strap visible beneath the fabric—it stirred something primal in me. I wanted to ruin that innocent face with tears right then and there, but I held back.
Still… I had to admit, the bun looked perfect on her.

I showed her the photo. “What do you think?”
“Whoaaa…! It’s so pretty…!”
Her enthusiastic reaction made me feel oddly proud.
“I’ll teach you how to do it when we get home.”
“Really? Thank you so much!”
Adele bounced with joy. Her energy was almost overwhelming, but because it was so genuine and cute, I let it slide.
“Shall we go in now?”
“Yes!”
“Uwaaaaaaaaah!”
Adele screamed from the seat beside me. We were currently riding the park’s most famous roller coaster—one with multiple vertical drops.
Every time the car plunged downward, Adele let out an ear-splitting shriek. She was practically sobbing by the end, and the people in the rows ahead and above us were laughing their heads off.
She even started yelling in the language of her home planet. “@#(*#&&!!”
After a few chaotic minutes, the short ride finally ended. I helped a completely drained Adele out of her seat and guided her toward the exit. I retrieved our phones from the locker and slipped hers back into her pocket.
“You okay?”
“………”
She stared at me with her mouth slightly open and eyes glazed over. It was hilarious how bold she had been earlier, only to look half-dead now.
I gave her back a light pat for encouragement. “Scarier than it looked on TV, right? That’s why I suggested we start with the milder rides.”
“J-Jihyeok… my heart is pounding so hard… I’ve never felt anything like this before.”
She grabbed my hand and pressed it against the upper part of her chest. It wasn’t a flirtatious move—she genuinely wanted me to feel how fast her heart was racing. She was simply too flustered to think clearly.
What kind of ridiculously innocent girl does something like this?
I kept my expression calm and nodded. “Yeah, it’s really racing. Could you let go of my hand now?”
“Ah…! I’m sorry!”
The moment she realized what she had done, her face turned bright red. She yanked her hands away and bowed deeply.
“Want to ride something else now?”
“Yes…”
“Put your phone away. It’s about to fall out.”
She quickly stuffed the phone into the front pocket of her hot pants, then flashed me a bright smile.
“Thank you!”
After burning out on that intense first ride, Adele recovered surprisingly fast. She began racing around the park like an excited retriever on its first walk. She wanted to try every single attraction, no matter how scary, and she refused to skip any photo spots. She even ate with such gusto that it was a pleasure to watch.
“This is really delicious! Want a bite, Jihyeok?”
She held out a rice cake skewer with a huge bite already taken out of it. I smiled softly and shook my head.
“I’m fine. You eat as much as you want.”
“Okay! Hehe…”
She took another big bite, chewed thoughtfully, then said, “You really seem like a good person, Jihyeok.”
“Me?”
“That’s what Silvia unnie said too. Even though you don’t have to go to the lab, you still help the Doctor. She said you must be a truly righteous person.”
“She said that? Silvia?”
“Yes! At first she was suspicious. She thought you might have some kind of hidden motive. But the more time passed, the more convinced she became that you were genuinely good. She said it was clear you truly cared about us.”
Of course I have to cherish you. I need to corrupt you first so we can conquer the entire universe together.
“Thank you for the compliment.”
“And I’m grateful you listened to my childish request…”
“Childish? It’s completely natural to be curious about an unfamiliar planet. If I had fallen onto your world, I would have begged you to show me around too.”
“Really?”
“Yes. So don’t feel burdened. Ask me for anything. If you’re bored, you don’t have to worry about my schedule—just go outside and have fun. But… when you do go out, make sure to tell me first, just like I said in the car. Even a single text is fine.”
“Yes, Jihyeok!”
“And you wanted this, right?”
I pulled a cute hairpin decorated with a fluffy arctic fox from my pocket and held it out. Adele’s eyes widened.
“H-how did you know?”
“You kept staring at it while we were waiting in line. I bought it before we ordered food earlier.”
“Th-thank you…”
She glanced at me shyly and took another bite of her skewer. Just from her reaction, I could tell I had scored major points.
You whale on gacha like crazy in the game, but you can’t even ask for one little thing like this? What a sly little vixen.
Adele carefully took the hairpin in her small hands and slipped it into her pocket. I smiled at her, then pulled out a tissue and handed it over.
“You’ve got sauce on your cheek.”
“Ah…!”
This time she accepted the tissue with much more modest movements and wiped both cheeks. After finishing the last two pieces of the skewer, she looked up.
“I’m full now. Can we go ride more attractions?”
“Of course.”
“Please take pictures for me too. I saw a really pretty spot earlier.”
“I will.”
“Is it okay if we take some together? I feel bad always making you take pictures of just me…”
“Do whatever you want. You’ve been stuck at home all this time—it must have been boring.”
Adele looked at me and broke into a radiant smile. It was so beautiful it seemed to light up the entire surroundings. For a moment I felt dizzy, but I quickly shook it off and stood up.
“Shall we go?”
“Yes!”
Where does she even get these emojis from? She’s adapting to this generation frighteningly fast.
Adele really seemed like the kind of girl who could survive just fine if you dropped her anywhere. Then again, with how easily she could be scammed, she’d probably go broke in no time.
After finishing my shower, I sat at the vanity and scrolled through Adele’s messages, chuckling softly. I set the phone down and stretched my neck back with a sigh.
The Doctor, who had been drying my hair, leaned forward. The tip of her sharp nose brushed my chin, and I felt the soft press of lips against mine. An upside-down kiss felt strangely novel.
She pulled away slightly, eyes half-lidded, and stroked my chin with her fingers. “Did you have fun today?”
“It was alright.”
“Just alright? You still look like you’re enjoying yourself.”
“Do I?”
“Plus, you didn’t contact me at all until you got back… that means you had fun, doesn’t it?”
“It felt more like walking a hyperactive dog. She had way too much energy.”
At that, the Doctor lightly chopped the side of my neck with her hand. “Why do you say things like that about people…?”
“It’s just how it felt. By the way, sis.”
“Hm?”
“Why do you look like that? Did something bad happen?”
“No. I just felt lonely being by myself… Which amusement park did you go to? The new one in Yangju?”
Out of all the parks in the country, you just had to pick that one?
Of course Yangju was close to Uijeongbu where Silvia and Adele lived, but wasn’t her intention way too obvious? Testing me was fine, but she should have at least given me multiple options to choose from. What if I had gotten suspicious?
“Yeah. How did you know?”
“Just… had a feeling you’d go there. It’s close to Uijeongbu, after all. Was it crowded?”
“Absolutely packed.”
“How was Adele? Did she have fun?”
Her concern for Adele was so blatant I nearly burst out laughing.
“She said she did. Have you ever been to an amusement park, sis?”
“I went a lot when I was younger.”
“Do you want to go again now?”
“I… well…”
Her words trailed off. I stood up, turned around, and stepped closer. I wrapped my hands firmly around her hips, feeling the plump softness beneath the delicate lace panties. I gave her a meaningful look.
“You’re upset with me, aren’t you?”
“……”
The Doctor avoided my gaze and bit her lower lip. I gently brushed the hair at the side of her face behind her ear and spoke softly.
“It’s okay. Tell me.”
She hesitated, then lowered her long lashes and asked, “Why… why were you so cold to me this morning?”
“When was I cold?”
“You were. You said ‘Yes, Doctor…’ like that…”
“I did say that, but I didn’t think it was cold enough to…”
“That’s why you’ve been sulking?”
“I wasn’t sulking… I was just hurt. Of course I know you have to act professional in front of others, but… could you let go of my butt first?”
She tried to push my hand away as if to rebel, but after glancing at my face she gave up and simply let out a long, heavy sigh.
I stared at her troubled expression for a moment, then called her in the gentlest voice I could manage.
“Sis.”
“What.”
“You love me, don’t you?”
“What a stupid question…”
“More than your husband?”
“Yes… I already told you that.”
“Then, sis, how about you stop taking birth control pills starting today?”
Her eyes flew open in shock. “W-what…?”
“If you love me more than him, there’s no reason to take them. You’re already struggling with infertility anyway… so stop taking them from today.”
Understanding the full meaning behind my words, the Doctor’s eyes began to tremble violently, as if an earthquake had struck her soul.
