That Damn Pig Next Door
I woke up to the blaring alarm from the apartment next door. If I didn't get up right now, I was definitely going to be late. Skipping breakfast, I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and threw on yesterday's clothes—morning prep done in five minutes flat. I grabbed my wallet and phone, opened the front door, and after a brief pause, the neighbor's door creaked open too.
Shit, not her. Please don't run into her.
I tried to play it off and walk past without looking, but she came out faster than expected, forcing me to stop in my tracks. The neighbor whose name I didn't even know was a young woman. And not just any woman—a total knockout. Long, silky straight hair that swayed with every step, alluring eyes with perfectly curved corners, harmonious features, a neck that begged to be kissed, and a figure that popped in all the right places, leaving nowhere safe for my eyes to land. But from the day she moved in, she'd treated me like garbage. Even casual hellos as I passed by got completely ignored, and she'd come home giggling into her phone but scowl the second she saw me.
Only once had we actually exchanged words. "Hey."
"Yeah?"
"Are you doing this on purpose?"
"Huh? Doing what?"
"Coming out right when I do. On purpose."
Whoa, someone who nitpicks that? "N-no, how could I time it like that?"
"Don't play dumb! How many times have we bumped into each other now? Are you... a stalker or something?"
"N-no, it's not... We've only run into each other three times..."
"Look at you, counting them. Total stalker."
No matter what I said, her face screamed "stalker verdict." She only believed what she wanted to. "Do that shit one more time, and I'm calling the cops. For real."
She spat "what a creep" and stormed off. What the hell? Do I have to sneak out of my own apartment now? Ever since, I'd developed a habit of listening for her door, but today the timing was just awful. She flinched when she saw me, her brows furrowing in disgust—right at that moment, a semi-transparent window popped up between us.
What the—?
She stood smack in the center of it, with a text box like a game dialogue underneath. Straight out of a visual novel—standing CG and all!
My brain couldn't keep up, so no words came out. While I stood there gaping, she spoke first. "I warned you..."
"No, today's legit not my fault. I left a bit early, see?"
"......"
"Uh, but... you don't see that window thing in the middle? With text at the bottom...?"
"What're you blabbering about?"
She whipped her head away and headed for the elevator. Guess she couldn't see it.
Just like that, I was a nutjob. I reached out and touched the window. No sensation—just empty air. But this UI... it looked familiar. Something clicked, and I rushed back to my room. Work could wait. That window was straight out of Love Quest—the dialogue box from the game I'd been addicted to for months. Why the hell was it in real life? Was I finally losing it?
I pulled out my phone, mind racing. "What the... Sex Quest?"
The game I'd been playing yesterday was gone, replaced by this weird app. Just one word changed, but it gave off serious bad vibes. Sex? I'd never installed anything like that. Sometimes carrier bloatware sneaks in during updates, but no way some default app's named this.
Hacked? Nah, what hacker wastes time on my junker phone? Nothing worth stealing. Still, better safe— all my banking's on here. Get hacked, and I'm starving till next month.
Delete it first. Long-pressed the icon, but no delete prompt. Worse, the phone froze completely. Camera, calls—dead. Like something was forcing me to run the app. No escape. After agonizing, I booted my PC. Searched "Sex Quest"—just porn sites. Tried "forced install unknown app"—nothing. Losing my mind.
Phone in hand, I debated running it. Factory reset wasn't working anyway—pointless. Fuck it. Long-pressed the Sex Quest icon.
*****
A bombastic sound effect blared—not from the phone, but right in front of my eyes. The game launched in empty space.

. .
Like those holograms in sci-fi flicks. Normal person sees this? They'd freak and backpedal. But it was so familiar, excitement hit before shock. Was I the abnormal one?
UI and menus identical to Love Quest. Waited for a tutorial—nothing. Rude system, scaring me like that. Menus are for clicking, right? Tapped the top one: [Character].

Not like Love Quest. That had detailed stats—stamina, looks, eloquence, charm, luck—like a full sim. Some hated the complexity, but I loved customizing to conquer heroines. This? Just one weird param: Sexual Power. Shady name, questionable even as a stat. And "Disposition" had some nonsense instead of personality or MBTI.
Fiend? That fiend? Quick search to check.
Sex Quest, so probably the perv angle. Horny? Sure. But fiend-level? Nah. Virgin makes sense, but "Horny (Idle)"? Idle means ready to go off? Points were standard—earn from quests, spend on stats or shop. No need for separate cash, but here it was split.
Still too simple. Just pump Sexual Power and win? Tried [Heroine] next.

First time hearing the name. Not from school or work. Must be the neighbor. Her contemptuous glare flashed back—yeah, that explains the -20 favor. More fields than mine, but mostly censored. Stunner or not, what good's knowing her erogenous zones?
Some tips blurred out. But "conquest"? Conquering her? The one who branded me stalker? The more menus, the more confused I got. [Navigation], [Item], [Point Shop]—no response. Nothing to show yet. Tapped [Backlog].

Exact convo with Ah-young, saved real-time. Just like Love Quest. Neat. [Flashback] showed thumbnails under her name—play icons, like videos. Curious, tapped the first.
Full video, but hyper-real—like viewing through my own eyes beside the camera. If this tech dropped, YouTube's done. Holy shit...
The playback? As shocking as the status window—maybe more.
