I Almost Shat Myself on Stream
“What the hell was that?”
“Don’t ask…”
After the interview wrapped, the practice room vibe was straight out of a dream.
Yuseung was barely holding back a laugh, twisting his face away, while Hanseo hyung, Arang, and Seonho weren’t even trying—they were cackling like maniacs. Only Seohui stared at me like I was some kind of idiot.
“Wasn’t like you desperately needed the bathroom or anything.”
“No, I mean, you can’t say shit like ‘it was fucking awesome’ in an interview. Words just blanked, so that came out.”
“And ‘I almost shat myself’ is okay?”
“…”
Yeah, what the fuck was I thinking.
‘I almost shat myself.’
‘Pardon?’
‘…Uh, n-no. N-no, not that, it was g-good. Fucking aw— no, I mean, first game back in forever, got MVP, so I was, uh, super hyped… no, anyway, it was g-good, good…’
‘What you said earlier…’
‘It’s, uh, a figure of speech.’
I’m losing my mind. Never thought I sucked at interviews in my life, but what a clown show. And it was on cam, face and all.
“Your face was wild too. Why’d you go red?”
“…I went red?”
“A bit.”
“Fuck, this sucks.”
“From the ‘I almost shat myself’ part.”
“I’m gonna hurl.”
At least it’s Div 2, low viewers… thank god.
“Whoa, someone already clipped and uploaded it.”
Of course they did, ffs.
I checked my phone, and sure enough, like Arang said, my interview clip was already up on the forums. Our team game drew LCK-level viewers anyway, and even if not, it getting archived was inevitable.
How does comeback day one turn into this?
“Body holding up okay?”
“My body?”
“Be real, you looked off before the game even started. Face was weird.”
“Nah. Wasn’t feeling bad or anything… just kinda weird.”
“Not sick?”
“Nah. Just… hyped up, y’know.”
“You doing it on purpose?”
“Huh?”
“Never mind…”
What would I do on purpose? Seohui sighed and shook her head.
Whatever, forget it. Shake it off. Water under the bridge—can’t scoop it back up. Might as well live easy.
Won the game, snagged MVP. Good is good, right?
“Kids, all done?”
Oh right, coach was in here too. Waiting for us to finish.
Coach was impressive. Witnessed that disaster live and didn’t crack a smile. No sign he was holding back—maybe he legit didn’t care.
“Yeah.”
“Good result, but honestly threw me off. Didn’t expect such an easy win. Yeonwoo, you pulled off some insane plays all around, huh?”
“Pudge was nuts!”
“Yeah. Honestly? Barely anything to feedback this game. Your plays were too perfect. Sure, against an LCK top mid it’d be different. No need to worry that far yet. But uh, you hadn’t shown this level in scrims till now, so I’m kinda at a loss.”
“Even I’m thrown. Feels like the game just clicked outta nowhere.”
Still couldn’t quite put it into words. Like I got possessed—the game flowed perfectly. Hell, I don’t even know how I got that first solokill.
Thankfully, coach wasn’t digging too deep.
“Eh, good’s good! Best if you keep this form, but win’s a win regardless. Thanks to everyone else too—not just Yeonwoo. Let’s keep it up, nah, do even better.”
“““Yes!!!”””
“First win, and against a team we’d lost to before, so dinner’s on tonight. Yeonwoo got MVP—pick the menu.”
Me? Nothing jumping out.
“Hell yeah, something tasty.”
“Coach, she didn’t even play—leave her out?”
“Die.”
Watching Arang and Hanseo hyung’s usual banter, I pondered the menu.
Hmm… not my fave, but everyone likes it, satisfies all tastes?
Absolutely not my pick, but seemed like the only one to please the crew.
“Hotpot then? Easy eating, tons of variety last time—everyone got what they wanted.”
“Just admit you love mala tang now.”
“Shut it, Yuseung.”
Saying it again—not ‘cause I like it.
“Alright, same place as before. Yeonwoo, speak up if your condition dips.”
“Huh? I’m fine.”
“You look it, but your face earlier was no joke. Just in case—tell me if anything’s off.”
“Got it.”
Coach finished up and opened the practice room door. On the way out, he paused like he remembered something, turned, and looked at me.
“Oh, and Yeonwoo—watch the interviews from now on.”
…Didn’t need the reminder—I was already planning to.
