Chapter 8
Why is the wiki so shocked
Despite the little turbulence, the stream that achieved better results than I had aimed for came to an end, and I lay on my bed feeling good, finally letting sleep take me.
The question of how to make a stream go viral had been swirling in my mind, and even if I did manage to grow it properly, would the Main God really show up? That kind of thought had made my sleep restless in the past, but yesterday it was actually pretty good.
Was it because I had streamed well? Or because I had navigated a situation that could have turned into real disaster? Maybe the knot of tension and heaviness that always sat in my chest felt a little lighter.
Of course, I had successfully streamed with around three hundred viewers, but I knew none of them would become permanent regulars. That was just how it was, right? Like how a sports team playing well doesn’t suddenly make people obsessed with soccer.
Yet it wasn’t meaningless. At the very least, I had properly recognized those three hundred people as mine.
The number of followers had skyrocketed too… Anyone who wanted would come, even if just to watch when they had nothing better on, or to wait for the main channel. That alone would be huge help.
So I enjoyed that peaceful sleep, woke up, and sat at the computer to prepare for today’s stream. The moment I opened the internet… I opened my mouth in shock.
There was a notification on the stream account. I clicked it, and the reason became obvious. The replay video was flooded with comments.
—Apologize properly to all of you, Nadak. If you have a conscience.
—32:14 “This isn’t just a VR meeting avatar, right? Isn’t this a Vtuber?” lol lol lol lol lol
—Kill Ttida with your bare hands lol lol
—We Sako Korea fully agree with Ttidue’s opinion~
Normally my replay videos never had even one comment, so a few dozen was already massive. But almost all of them looked like trolls who had come just to stir shit, so I had zero desire to respond properly.
I could just delete them, but since they’d swarm back the same way anyway, deleting wasn’t a great idea… or was it?
No, better to just block the comments entirely. Blocking this video would stop the trolls here, but there were probably other videos they’d spam anyway. And honestly, there weren’t that many people who would check the blocked ones either.
“What the fuck is this now.”
I blocked comments and habit kicked in—I opened my email. My inbox, which usually only had spam, was now packed with warm emails. But the subjects were flashy and fiery.
[You fucking conscience-less bitch]
[How dare you suck the teat of Luminaria’s tits]
[I watched the Ideal World Cup. I want to meet you again. Let me give you a few pieces of advice.]
[As a rival, this stream was genuinely unpleasant, Ttidue. Study up before streaming. Chat management is nonexistent, which is revolting.]
[Stop acting tough or I’ll fuck you up]
The emails weren’t much different from the replay comments, or maybe even more biting. Simple swear-filled ones I could ignore, but there were real feedback-style ones that kept catching my eye.
Of course I knew. Even those “feedbacks” were probably just pointing out the parts that were shit, not genuinely wanting me to improve.
Even if I ignored all of them, I felt there would be no problem. But what if they actually meant something? Or if I could use them somehow.
‘Honestly… I didn’t know anything, so I did some pointless stirring. If I had even basic knowledge, I wouldn’t have done that.’
Of course the extra viewers had come because I messed up…
Anyway, I read every email, deleted them one by one, and decided today’s stream content.
—————
Sorry. I’ll study up on being a Vtuber. 116 viewers. Streaming at 00:03:19
Lim Ttidue follower count 3,772
—————
I posted on the streaming community, but the moment I started the stream people flooded in even more than I expected. It was hard to believe. Just a few days ago 6 viewers was a lot; now it was almost twenty times that, and still growing.
“Good evening everyone. Thank you all for coming.”
-Ttidue
-Finally here
The second the stream started came the greetings. Greetings returned, conversation flowing—that was pure joy. Nothing like those few minutes of silence when no chat appeared and I muttered to myself.
“Where do I post the broadcast schedule? Uh… nowhere. No schedule, no place to watch.”
-Eh?
-Didn’t you make a cafe?
“What’s the point of making a cafe when I barely had ten viewers a few days ago?”
I could swallow that there were ghost members in the cafe, but there should at least be some active people, right? Since there was no fandom at all, I never thought to make a cafe. But now that people and fans were steadily increasing, having a place to communicate was important.
But not right now.
“Today’s topic is a good one. It’s on the schedule, but I did the Vtuber World Cup yesterday… and since I know nothing about Vtuber, I said some words that might have sounded rude. So today I’m studying because of that.”
MidlinerOnlyWatches—Good
-Ooh
-Why is it polite today?
“Why polite? Want to hear the casual version? Then I’m setting a mission… just kidding~”
-lol
-You’re still pretty today
I said that and smiled, and the chat showed agreement. And oddly, the chat felt cleaner and sweeter than yesterday.
Was it because the Sako Korea trolls weren’t swarming? I didn’t care either way, but it wasn’t bad.
“Mission from MidlinerOnlyWatches! 100,000 Jeollyeok for speaking casually”
-Cya
-Whoa, casual version pilled lol
“Aigo~! MidlinerOnlyWatches-nim, it was just a joke~ Then… shall I start the mission? Haha.”
Was the world this fair?
A hundred thousand Jeollyeok for nothing but casual speech?
Of course there was a fee, so I wouldn’t get the full ten thousand, but from the viewer’s perspective it was the same. Could I really earn this much money so easily?
Cute.
“This is just a quick prep before today’s stream… there were a lot of opinions in the replays and mails, right?”
-Hah
-Hah
-Ah…
-Did the chicken farm come again
“Ehem, no bad words.”
I temporarily banned the person spamming about chickens. Banning immediately would be too harsh, so ten minutes. It was common sense not to shit on other streamers or fandoms, but there were no rules anyway, so…
“Thinking about it, I didn’t set chat rules before. I let it slide once. Of course, now that I’ve set them, I won’t let it slide. So everyone, no crossing the line and only send kind chats.”
-I’m scared
-Someone died…
“My chat rules… no politics bait, no mentioning other streamers or fandoms, no game or content spoilers, and… anything else that annoys me.”
I thought about adding sexual harassment rules, but there would be people who’d try to push the boundaries on what counted as harassment versus praise, so I skipped it.
Honestly, hearing it didn’t make me feel that bad. But if the chat atmosphere stayed like that, it would make streaming harder. Simple comments like “your tits are huge” were fine, but… that kind of forced praise was actually a bit much…
So I just rolled it into “if you don’t like my chat, you’re banned.”
-Dictator
-Banning asking for panty color too?
-I only send kind chats ^^
“Isn’t that the guy who spammed like crazy last time demanding an explanation for Ttida? Yeah, fuck. But only kind chats? Die.”
-Hah
-Hah
I could check a viewer’s chat history, saw a familiar nickname, and confirmed it was one of the Sako Korea invaders. Still… this guy kept the line barely intact. Of course he survived without being banned.
“Watch yourself, squad leader is watching you.”
-Yes
-The squad leader is disappointed in you
-Ddd
“And panty color? White, of course. What’s the point? Boring. Sell it, Ttida.
I wasn’t going to meet any guys, so I hadn’t put effort into underwear. I just stacked up cheap cotton panties from DaParra and wore them. Cheap, durable… no reason not to.
Bras were a different story—regular sizes couldn’t handle my chest. But lately there are plenty of sites that specialize in big-size bras made for people like me. I remembered Seo Yuna shopping there hard. I ignored the design and only cared about value for money.
“I understand why it’s fun for you to ask about panty color. But I probably wear white every day, so it won’t matter. I have about thirty identical pairs at home.”
-?
-?
Where the hell do these idiot thoughts come from? Kinda funny, so I’ll let it slide.
“Enough… anyway, to avoid making another rude mistake, I’ll take some time to see how amazing these people are.”
-Hmm
-Good good, being careful is wise
-How will you find out?
“I’ll check on NeoWiki, right? It’s usually good at this kind of thing, isn’t it?”
-Hah
-Hah
-Hah hah wiki
The second I mentioned NeoWiki, the chat exploded with countless “Hah”s.
What… why is it “hah” this time?
