Friday afternoon, right in the middle of Hongdae.
As more people thronged the streets, the area quickly grew noisy and bustling. Shopping bags in hand, we stepped into the second clothing store.
Hui-yeong looked me up and down. Then she grinned.
"Shall we pick out a skirt this time?"
I shook my head hard, almost reflexively.
"Ah… no. Skirts are still a bit much for me…"
Hui-yeong casually took my arm and pulled me toward the pants display.
"Then jeans it is. Let's go for something that shows off your figure."
"…What's that supposed to mean…?"
Hui-yeong lightly ran her hand down the line of my waist and hips.
"Your strong points are your waist and hip line."
She quickly scanned a few pairs of pants, holding each one up against my body.
"Hmm… this one… and this one's nice too."
Then she hung the selected pants over my arm and headed for the tops section.
"Carry those and follow me."
Hui-yeong was already at the tops, flipping through various pieces and murmuring to herself.
When I drew closer, she started holding clothes up against my body one by one again.
"This one's too boxy… and this one's kind of meh."
I stood there blankly with pants dangling from both arms.
"It feels like you're playing a dress-up game with me."
"Putting clothes like that on a body this pretty is a crime."
The sudden compliment left me momentarily speechless. A cough escaped me. Hui-yeong promptly picked up a knit top.
"This with those pants would look cute. Go try these two on."
She practically shoved me into the fitting room, pushing at my back.
"Ha… I'm already exhausted."
I let out a heavy sigh and tried on the combination she'd picked out exactly as instructed.
Looking in the mirror, a completely different person stood there. No… that was me.
"Getting all dressed up like this is something else…"
The moment I opened the door, Hui-yeong looked me over and tossed another outfit at me.
"Try this one too. How does the one you just had feel?"
"Not bad. It's not uncomfortable either."
"Then let's buy a few sets of that combination. Tell me how the one you're wearing now feels."
And the door closed again. I sighed once more and fumbled my way into the next outfit.
"Why do all women's clothes look so small…"
I grumbled as I changed again, then opened the door. Hui-yeong shook her head.
"This one's a no…"
"Hey, how long do we have to keep doing this?"
Hui-yeong answered with a look that said it was no big deal.
"We haven't even started yet?"
"…What?"
"This store, we can wrap up the trying-on here. Go back in and try it on like this."

And so we went through one store, then another. Changing, changing again.
I was gradually turning into a wreck, while Hui-yeong's eyes only sparkled brighter.
"Hui-yeong… when does this end…?"
"We can't go around in the same style every day~."
I was dragged into yet another clothing store. Leaving our arms full of shopping bags at the counter for a moment, I started trying on outfit after outfit again like a fitting model.
"They all look the same to me…"
"I'm picking them to match your body type right now. They're all~ different."
Before I knew it, both my hands were full of shopping bags. Hui-yeong nodded with a satisfied expression.
"We have to go look at houses far away tomorrow, so let's call it early today."
"This is… early?"
I looked up and the sky was already dark. The shops had grown brighter, and people were still noisy and lively.
"If we go home now it'll be late evening… is this right?"
