More, Even Bigger and Stronger Firepower! (1)
But even so, I couldn't just be thrilled about it. And the reason why? Right after smashing that turtle's shell like that.
Total Clear Time: 1:59
Final Combat Time Result: You've broken the #5 ranking record for Tower Hardcore Difficulty Floor 9!
˪Rewards have been sent via mail! Please claim them!
"What the hell, why is this only #5?"
Even with our badass Wilson's superhuman effort, it ends up as #5 instead of #1? Naturally, the second I saw that, I rubbed my eyes in disbelief and checked the rankings right away...
"No, how am I supposed to deal with this? EX Trait dude."
The status window never lies, and seeing it like that, a wave of disappointment hit me hard. And why not? Look at my performance so far—straight-up dominating #1, blowing everyone away like a storm. Then suddenly this? It felt like the ultimate troll, super fucking frustrating.
The silver lining? After getting that lame result and heading home from the Tower, before claiming rewards, I hit up the hunter community to cleanse my poor soul. And amid the flood of reactions to BlankSeat's #5 ranking—
"Yeah, just retry and done."
Stumbling on that post reminded me you can redo the same 10-floor line as much as you want. I shook my head, realizing I'd worried for nothing. And right as I was about to close the comments—plus another post—bam, a warning about a mistake I almost made popped up.
The content? Something I couldn't have noticed since I'd only ever hit #1 before...
<Skipping ~2,300 chars of Cali Gate story>
Key point: Tower ranking rewards are one-time only, no matter what. Only exceptions are system glitches, and even those are under 3 cases worldwide after tons of verification. Ignore 'em. That's it.
"Oh shit, almost fucked up."
Surprisingly, if I'd mindlessly claimed that #5 reward? Even if I nailed #1 on Floor 9 retry, I'd only get the #5 reward again. In this low-floor crapshoot with shitty rewards already, I'd nearly doubled down on garbage. Huge sigh of relief.
Anyway, now that I knew the truth, it was barely 9 AM... nah, checking the clock, just past 8:10. So yeah, the urge to warp straight back to Floor 9 and blast Wilson first thing bubbled up.
But I held off for a reason. Check Floor 9 rankings again...
"Hmm, interesting."
The Management Bureau hunter in #1 clocked a mind-blowing 5 seconds. Even my majestic Wil-son might struggle to pierce that insanely tough turtle shell in 5 secs.
So, pondering how to smash it in under 5, I spent ~3 hours researching online before entering the Tower.
"As expected, old-school milnerds know their shit."
Scouring military geek forums confirmed: Wilson can't pierce Floor 9 turtle shell. Time to amp firepower.
Of course, I'm no apocalypse raider looting bases. And no B-rank scrub loans 20mm+ heavies easy. So...
"Hey, been a while, right?"
"K-keeek..."
"Oh, first time for you, but anyway—we're sweeping this Floor 1 map for usable weapons. Got it?"
"Kirrrk!"
"P.S. Resist or run, next is your legs."
Instead of Floor 9, back to Floor 1 after ages. Skipping my wrecked APC, off to hunt other soldiers' gear.
