Chapter 49: Atonement
Lee Seona had just finished his wedding and was on his honeymoon with Seona.
On the first night of their Hawaiian honeymoon, in a luxurious hotel room, he was kneading Seona’s fair, pale body as though it were soft dough.
Seona clung to him tightly, her voice trembling with emotion. “Lee Seona… aren’t I too happy right now?”
Lee Seona answered with a soft smile. “I am too… now… we’re going to be together forever…”
“Lee Seona… I can’t hold back anymore… let’s do it quickly… make me feel so strong that my body will break… I love you…”
As Seona begged him to take her, Lee Seona’s face flushed with excitement. He began to tear at her clothes with rough, impatient hands.
Lying beneath him, Seona’s cheeks burned crimson. She looked up at him with desperate longing. “Give it to me…”
Lee Seona had not yet begun the main act, yet he lowered his waist, breathing heavily. A pleasant moan escaped Seona’s lips, accompanied by the rhythmic sound of flesh rubbing together and the wet, unmistakable noise of their union.
But no pleasure came from it.
There was nothing beneath him.
The sound was coming from the side.
There, beneath the blonde succubus with her tan skin and sheep-like horns, lay Seona. She was moaning in pain, calling out the name of the woman beneath her, not her own. They moved together in fierce, mechanical intercourse as if the other meant nothing.
It was agony, yet Lee Seona could not tear his eyes away. He watched until the very end.
When Seona finally reached her climax, Miel rose from the bed.
She turned toward him, lay on her back, and spread her legs with two fingers. Thick, viscous semen slowly dripped from her. With a mocking smile, she flaunted what was inside her. “Look at this… it’s all yours.”
Miel pushed her hips upward, and a gush of semen spilled from her belly. Lee Seona watched it with a bitter heart, then slowly walked over and tried to bury his face in it.
He woke with a start.
Lee Seona realized it had been a dream and remembered where he was.
The place without Seona was a living hell.
He had endured hundreds of nights like that over nearly a hundred days, but the place where he had been with Seona had held hope.
At first, after returning, he had been glad to be free of that pain.
Until the emptiness of Seona’s absence hit him.
His “hope” was undoubtedly being toyed with by the succubus in that painful place.
When he recalled Seona’s face, tears spilled down his cheeks. His entire body began to tremble.
The liquid still dripping from his lower body had cooled, leaving his skin clammy and cold. Even his burning heart was slowly cooling.
He had been beaten unconscious by Mina, Seona’s mother.
When he woke, he was lying on the bed in the room. His whole body was broken.
He could not move his neck, let alone his fingers. He had no sensation in his legs either.
When Mina attacked him in a rage, she had first shattered every bone in his hands and feet.
She had done it so he could not escape.
The only reason Mina had suddenly exploded with fury was because Seona had told her there was a way to save Seona.
When she heard that, she had screamed, “Are you mocking me?” and beaten Lee Seona until he nearly died.
In fact, Lee Seona had been the first person in the world to be taken through a gate and return alive.
After explaining the full reason he had come back, the situation could only be described as a miracle. Yet when he tried to persuade Mina in that state, she had gone completely mad and beaten him to the point of death.
…
Mina could not believe a word Lee Seona said.
Thinking about the destruction this man had brought to their family, believing him was already impossible.
On top of that, the woman who had survived by luck was now claiming there was a way to bring Seona back.
Did she not know how precious her own life was? She was just spouting nonsense.
Yet somewhere deep in her heart, a fervent wish burned: to go rescue Seona.
She could not trust Lee Seona.
But she decided to hear what he had to say.
So, after the earlier beating, she forcibly reset his broken jaw and focused on the rest of his injuries.
With the thought of “Don’t die so easily” burning in her chest, filled with anger toward Seona.
…
Lee Seona felt someone entering his room.
It was his mother Yura and Mina, the woman who had beaten him nearly to death earlier.
After the two entered, an awkward silence filled the room for a long time.
Then, breaking the silence, Mina spoke to the point. “So… what is the method to save Seona?”
“The high succubi can open and close gates easily. By capturing high-level monsters… and taking them to the world where they live…”
“Until now, every high-level monster we have closed the gates on has died. We never tried to capture them. It’s nearly impossible.”
High-level monsters. In other words, high succubi possessed overwhelming pride.
They had reason and could speak, but they still treated humans as inferior livestock.
They had refused to speak with livestock.
“Still… if we keep trying, it might be possible. There are monsters who are afraid of losing their lives…”
In fact, among the sponsors, some monsters lower in rank than succubi had checked the succubus’s eyes. While being raised as service slaves in Miel’s room, they had seen a maid glance at Seona’s body once. When Miel flew into a rage and scolded her, the maid begged to be spared. Of course, Miel had cut her throat with her nails without mercy.
It was not an impossible story.
There was a very slim chance that a high succubus who had attachment to life could cross the gate.
When Lee Seona told that story to Mina and Yura, they listened in surprise.
And Lee Seona stated what he wanted. “But I need to be part of the plan… The Demon Realm is as vast as Earth. The only one who remembers the exact place in the Demon Realm where the succubus lived is me.”
In truth, finding such a place in a world as large as Earth would be difficult.
But if you knew that the territory was ruled by the Succubus Lord?
You could simply wander through the territories governed by succubi in the Demon Realm.
Among them, the one matching Lee Seona’s memories would be the place where Seona was confined. It would be far more realistic than random searching.
Of course, he had no idea how long it would take.
Moreover, it was deep inside enemy territory with no supplies and no idea what would happen if their presence was discovered.
Mina could not entrust her life to such uncertainty.
Hyun-tae’s condition was one where he might die at any moment.
Although her feelings about Seona were complicated, she had to take care of Hyun-tae.
“No… Hyun-tae is in a state where he might die today or tomorrow… I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t know what will happen to my husband if I go to save Seona…”
“Is that so?… Then, when your father recovers… please come find me again at that time.”
Lee Seona called him “father” without hesitation, but Mina could not bring herself to hit that man.
She had said she would stake her life for Seona, but in reality, there was no one else who could save Seona except Lee Seona.
Because only this woman knew the location where Seona was confined…
Mina wanted to find a way to save Seona after Hyun-tae recovered.
Even if it meant doing something that would tear her apart, the heart of a mother who wanted to find her precious son was far too large.
…
Yura, having heard Mina and Lee Seona’s words, began to look for a way to help.
As the representative of Hwaryong Guild, what she could do was limited.
She was planning to create a large-scale project within the guild to conquer the other world.
If she recruited personnel to handle battles and supplies when going to the other world, and took on the task of capturing high succubi as discussed earlier…
She could make Lee Seona’s plan much smoother.
No, she had to do it that way.
The only atonement she could offer was this.
…
Lee Seona began his duty as a duty hunter.
However, unlike regular duty hunters, he was assigned a different role.
Regular duty hunters belonged to the combat support team and only handled supplies or cleaned up residual monsters in gates.
Lee Seona’s assignment was as a regular combat personnel, even assigned to the vanguard team where casualties were frequent.
Originally, he should have refused, but Lee Seona quickly asked Yura to take it.
He wanted to accumulate combat experience as fast as possible.
He did not want to feel the helplessness he had shown in front of Miel and Seona again when he crossed to the other world.
In that way, Lee Seona was deployed for the first time as a C-rank hunter in a gate cleanup operation.
