The Eleventh Collision: A Spider's Desperate Infiltration
If one thought of the demon race that fed on negative emotions such as mortals' pain and despair, they would seem incomparably evil with every single member a combat species. However, this was merely a spiritual-biological classification.
'Naturally,' the demons residing in the main base inside the Great Phantasm, excluding the 'external personnel' who descended to the material plane to care for (torture) the livestock, harvest despair, and connect the surface to the Great Phantasm, were extremely ordinary civilians.
The civilians received pain and emotions—essentially food and resources—harvested from the surface and fairly distributed by their god. Using those as ingredients, they engaged in perfectly ordinary manufacturing and commercial activities for industry, devoted themselves to academic development in technology, performed or painted spiritual pictures for cultural development, or participated in religious events for faith, and so on.
Anyway, they were genuine civilians who raised internal affairs values, even if their direction was a bit unique.
What this meant was that with Wafflach-Nacha having dropped into the enemy main base, the situation was completely fucked.
The demons wailed. The bizarre spider-like waffles that had risen from the Dessert Desert mercilessly slaughtered the 'overlapping' demons even in the spiritual realm, tearing their spiritual bodies to shreds, absorbing them, and scattering the remnants everywhere.
Syrup then flowed from those spots, melting the spiritual structures built around the area. Once melted, the syrups consumed them and multiplied. The waffles would soak themselves in that syrup, growing even more ferocious and destroying the city further.
The main base had been breached. The main base that absolutely could not be breached for Umjeory's victory had now been breached. Umjeory shouted in panic.
"Recall the troops! Recall them! Bring every soldier back to the city immediately!"
Umjeory screamed and unsparingly distributed divinity to his lesser gods so they could relay the signal to all armies.
The legions were horrified at the news that the main base had been breached and hurriedly began their retreat.
They tried to cross into the dream world, but a problem arose here.
Hundreds of dimensional gates suddenly opened in the sky above the surface where the livestock farms were located. From the ground, Shuc-rimmurath's legions poured out like a flood, while Yogur-tosoth's legions, centered around thousands of yogurts, surged from the sky.
The yogurt legion immediately severed the spiritual realm passages to prevent the opponents from returning from the surface to their main base.
They also contaminated the area and transformed it in reverse into a yogurt production factory.
They even attempted to possess the livestock and seize control.
The bread legion's method was very simple. They simply killed everything in sight. Then they devoured it and settled in. Afterward, the sugar lumps and gamchi filled the gaps and seized the territory.
In short, it was a threat: 'If you recall your army to the main base, I'll wipe out every last one of the livestock you've raised.'
Umjeory's judgment was swift.
"I delegate authority to the lesser gods in charge of military affairs! I will focus entirely on evacuating the residents of the main base!"
The military lesser gods' priorities were strict. The supreme commander took charge of the army, issuing appropriate orders to soldiers with military experience, reorganizing the forces, and launching a fierce assault.
From Biin's perspective, it was a desperate counterattack launched at the dimensional gate stage. The pressure of being unable to finish the game before dimensional fusion if they failed to seize the momentum here had forced this all-out attack.
The ground forces of the Dessert Legion, having overcome the plague and completed their elite transformation, could easily overpower the enemy's monster units that were groaning in sickness.
It was an all-out offensive poured forth with the determination to end everything at the dimensional gate stage.
This was the privilege of one who possessed space-time magic power. If Biin poured everything into this and still couldn't secure the advantage, the situation would truly be dangerous. He had expended all accumulated mana and divinity.
At the very least, he had to kill a quarter of the opponent's livestock.
The opponent's main base had to be completely devastated. Even if it meant Wafflach-Nacha's death, the enemy's production capacity had to be utterly collapsed.
Wafflach-Nacha was prepared for that as well. It had gone knowing it might die. It was not a disposable piece. If Wafflach-Nacha died, Biin's means to strike the enemy main base would become extremely limited.
Even so, they had to breach the opponent's main base. If they could not punch a hole in that iron-walled capital right now, there would be no chance of victory at all. It would simply drag on, end in a half-hearted absorption and unification.
That was no different from defeat. So this was one strategy. A desperate measure, truly like throwing one's body off a cliff...
There was one piece of good news for Biin.
"Lord Umjeory...! What should we do? More than half the livestock have been killed by the enemy legions...!"
Life is Pain
Life is Pain prevented death from physical damage. However, the more physical trauma they received, the greater the pain, and if the pain grew too intense their minds would eventually collapse, resulting in death by shock.
The monster units steeped in disease were more than half annihilated by physical violence that far surpassed the amount of pain the demons could extract and use as resources. Moreover, a significant number of the Dessert Legion had already established themselves in the world's wild areas and livestock farms, beginning to reproduce by spawning offspring.
For now, this was a major gain. It was extremely positive news.
But there was also one piece of despairing news for Biin.
"Still, it's fortunate. The residents have successfully evacuated from the capital to the 'Second City and Third City.'"
The enemy's main base that Wafflach-Nacha had been sent to destroy... wasn't the main base.
Well, to be exact, since it was the capital it was the main base... but there were several more cities. The world was so vast that they had prepared a few extra. However, Wafflach-Nacha did not know how to cross from inside the Great Phantasm to other regions of the Great Phantasm.
They had damaged the opponent's city, but the damage was minimized. It was far less destructive than expected.
And there was a situation that was beyond despairing and utterly horrific for Biin.
"Creatures prepared to suppress that giant spider legion that invaded the capital are already in position."
Three level-10 epic-grade demons. The demon of . The demon of . The demon of .
Five epic-grade entities positioned at levels six through nine. As expected, various weakening and powerful mystic demons of or .
Twenty-seven hero-grade entities, some of which had only just exceeded level six.
The upper entities existing in Umjeory's world. All the strongest entities that could not be sent to the opponent's world because it was the dimensional gate stage had been fully summoned and gathered around Wafflach-Nacha.
And among them Wafflach-Nacha identified the most distinct legendary-grade entity. It seemed the opponent's world possessed only that one legendary-grade being.
An ascendant entity that had reached the peak of level ten and was undergoing the promotion ritual. The demon of .
Of course they were all weaker than Wafflach-Nacha at level thirteen. Even the strongest of them, the madness demon, would be torn apart by Wafflach-Nacha in a one-on-one fight as if it were nothing more than "what used to be a demon."
The problem was that Wafflach-Nacha's path home was now cut off, and in a situation where it could not even evacuate from the enemy main base it had to fight the enemy's strongest entities.
"Suppress it! We will make it our slave with curses and madness!"
Pouring and , and -type brainwashing waves.
Umjeory had no intention of killing Wafflach-Nacha. Instead he planned to torture it and seize it as his subordinate.
Thanks to this, Biin could still see through Wafflach-Nacha's eyes and issue commands.
"Wafflach-Nacha! It looks like it's not working! Rather than trying to escape, kill at least one more before you go!"
【...No. My creator.】
"What?"
【Information is needed right now.】
Wafflach-Nacha chose not to resist desperately. Instead it raced across the world, striving to send as much information as possible to its creator, Biin.
The thirty-six gathered demons. It extracted as much data as it could on the upper entities.
Hero-grade entities could not revive if killed, so it slew them directly, but for epic-grade and above it deployed defensive and evasion mystic abilities to endure as long as possible while trying to gather information rather than kill.
It continued observing the enemy's world. The connections to the 'Second City' and 'Third City' had already been severed.
But where exactly were they? Wafflach-Nacha seemed to be in a region that was half material realm rather than fully inside the Great Phantasm, so it worked hard to find evidence of that.
"Does that thing have a means to send information?"
Umjeory understood the intent, but unfortunately he could not suppress it.
The main reason was that the mystics he had primarily trained focused on weakening; he possessed few with decisive killing power.
The type mystic was at least effective for suppression, but unfortunately Wafflach-Nacha's highest stat was . Whether mental attacks, pain, hallucinations, or madness brainwashing, it endured them all with its innate spirit and willpower alone.
Eventually, Wafflach-Nacha, now covered in and , sent a message of hope.
【Creator. This place is underground.】
"!"
【It does not belong entirely to the perfect spiritual flow realm. The enemy accumulated pain and emotions underground and built their cities there.】
"Well done! Well done! With just that we can somehow see a path to victory! So... rest now."
【Not yet.】
Even after that, together with its subordinate waffle legion, Wafflach-Nacha destroyed the city until the opponent's world could not even dream of reconstruction. It ruined the flows that had been building the place, killed ten hero-grade entities and five low-level epic-grade entities before it was finally suppressed and collapsed.
Once it was completely suppressed, Biin's Deity-World Oneness connection was finally severed. Biin realized Wafflach-Nacha had entered a state no different from death.
"Fuck!"
Even though Umjeory had barely captured one Dessert Legion commander, instead of a sigh of relief only worry came over him.
"This was clearly the weakest monster from the opponent's world, right? This is insane. There are four more that are stronger than this?"
So who had benefited more?
Biin had invested over seventy percent of his remaining forces while ravaged by plague, succeeded in occupying roughly thirty percent of the opponent's territory, and massacred over fifty percent of the livestock that formed the enemy's foundation.
He had of course completely destroyed the opponent's capital and hunted numerous upper entities.
Above all, he had identified a way to physically occupy the enemy's world.
Umjeory had lost some territory, but he had never really cared about his world's territory from the beginning.
The death of the livestock was critical, but he had reserves and had protected half, so it was not yet at the level of immediate starvation.
The capital was shattered, but more than half the residents had successfully evacuated safely, and with minimal damage he had captured the Dessert Legion commander Wafflach-Nacha.
On top of that, the most core entity, the 'madness demon Dwyero,' had succeeded in promoting to level eleven.
In terms of results, both sides had gained benefits that could lead to victory, yet both had stabbed each other with knives, cracked skulls, and were bleeding from head, stomach, and limbs.
Even though they knew they had to attack to win, the true end point of the offensive had now arrived.
"I guess I have no choice but to rest while producing nectar. Abhojuth and the legion commanders, focus on restoring the ecosystem as much as possible."
"The residents are anxious. Lesser gods, comfort the residents and do your best to win the next match. Also subdue that spider somehow and make it our minion."
For now it was internal affairs. They would rebuild the weakened ecosystem and civilization.
"Yogur-tosoth. Since Wafflach-Nacha has fallen, the odds now rest on you. I will hand over half of the world's produced resources to you. You must succeed and win no matter what!"
"Dwyero. It is the final stage now. I will suppress the enemy's world with your power. Since you have been promoted to level eleven, I will gather all remaining resources to raise you to at least level fourteen."
Each side began operations to topple the opponent's world.
Both were in a miserable and frustrating situation. Biin with the intuition of a seasoned gamer and Umjeory with the collective intelligence of his lesser gods realized the method to decide the match.
It was no longer the setup of 'Biin who can win but cannot defeat the opponent' and 'Umjeory who cannot lose but had no sense of how to win.'
Both sides' judgments overlapped. It was an accurate insight.
'Biin who will definitely win if he holds out but finds holding out difficult' and 'Umjeory who wins just by hitting but whose own risk grows the more he hits.'
It was now an infighting with nowhere to retreat. The dimensional passage stage had begun.
