AFTERWORD: Main Story Complete
Hello, this is author Jjem Jjem.
With this 75th chapter, the main story of "Vita Never Loses!" has finally come to an end. Though it's "just" 75 chapters, that's 350,000 characters on Novelpia—equivalent to about 100 chapters of a typical novel averaging 3,500 characters each. From the first day of the June 10 challenge, I've spent roughly two months cranking out and uploading nearly that much content. Looking back, I really put in the work!
I set out to write a full-on Japanese light novel-style youth romantic comedy—a TS Pure Love story. I have no idea if you all found it fun, but I think the latter half really showed why I tagged it TS and Pure Love. The protagonist Vita's journey to self-awareness gave significant weight to her struggles with gender identity—and I handled it seriously. The final three chapters laid out my personal take on what pure love means.
I'm sure there are readers out there who truly enjoyed it. After all, stories like this in the TS Pure Love genre? You probably haven't seen many. If one existed that satisfied me, I might not have written this at all. Just like with my previous work, when there was basically no TS romance on Novelpia, I felt like I was digging my own well here too.
In the new work teaser for that previous story, I mentioned this Vita tale or a childhood friends romance as the top candidates. The childhood friends one might've had broader appeal or more sex appeal... but I have zero regrets. I'd already done childhood friends in my last work, and I wanted to craft a tsundere heroine in a love comedy at least once—with my own hands. Just because I loved the idea. My one driving thought was sharing the themes and protagonists I'd dreamed up, fueled purely by your reactions. Every recommendation click, every comment you left—it kept me going strong.
I'm thrilled to have kept my promise to see it through to the end, rankings be damned.
In short, writing this came with plenty of ups and downs. Car accidents, gout flare-ups... but thanks to you few readers whose tastes align so perfectly with mine, who stuck it out to the very end—I made it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I'll keep this afterword brief. Oh, but if you're among those who truly loved the story, you're probably wondering about side stories, right? Truth is, I'm wiped out lately. In my view, it wrapped up pretty neatly as is. Still, I should do them—yes. Just give me one week, and I'll be grateful.
Five chapters? Ten? Nah, more than that. It won't drag on forever, but it'll be a satisfying volume and length to make you happy. Starting next weekend, I'll be back with side stories cum epilogues.
By the way, personally, I got so much help from author Binibig while writing this. Every tough moment, they cheered me on, nursed my flatfish-level mentality, and gave invaluable advice on the story itself. I have to express my thanks. Author-nim, thank you!
Fun fact: the one Novelpia novel I follow is Binibig's The Daily Life of Professor Baek Woo-yu, Born in 1992. It's got such a wonderful vibe as a TS story—if you're curious, give it a look.
See you next week for the side stories and epilogues! And if you have any questions, drop a comment.
