The Unlocked Door
The door was not locked.
The key sat inside the drawer.
All I had to do was turn it. But I did not turn it.
This was the room Cecile would soon enter. To prepare me for bed, to put out the candle, to clear away my glass. To my exclusive maid, this door was never meant to be closed.
Every time footsteps brushed past beyond the corridor, my heart split down the middle. If I were caught, my house would be finished. If anyone saw what the heir of the Velois Marquisate was doing right now, three hundred years of a name would end here, on this very sheet.
And still, my hands did not stop.
I pushed up my nightgown. I pulled my undergarments down only to my knees. I knelt on the bed, mimicking in a marchioness's bedroom the low posture a maid assumes when wiping away dust. As I bent at the waist, my mound pressed against the blanket, and cold air slipped between lips already parted. I despised myself—a daughter of the marquisate, reduced to this.
Before my eyes, the scene from this morning overlapped itself, lingering still.
A white apron. A frilled maid's cap. The way the hem of a black skirt folded with every step.
The moment that hem rose in my mind, my clitoris swelled. In the fantasy of that white apron fabric hanging before my face, I opened, slick and messy inside. The mere thought of the cap's frills brushing the back of my bowed neck made my thighs tremble.
I pinched my clitoris between the index and middle fingers of my right hand. Slowly, yet without hiding it, I rubbed. My left hand held my lips spread, scraping up the fluid that trickled down the center.
The wetness was no longer clear. Something white and sticky drew threads between my fingers, and a fishy scent rose from beneath the blanket. It was unbecoming of a noble daughter.
In the mirror there was only a bitch, wearing the shape of a whore selling her body on the street—not the daughter of a distinguished marquisate. The more shame flooded me, the wider my lips spread, and my swollen clit slipped between my fingers.
I pressed my middle finger against the entrance. Just one knuckle, for now. But inside was already far too wet, and the first knuckle slid in without a sound. When I pushed in the second, my inner thighs seized with a spasm.
What struck me more vividly than depth was the fact itself—that my finger was inside the heir of the Velois Marquisate.
A little lower, I thought. I wish she'd tell me to go a little lower.
In my delusion, Cecile stood in the open doorway.
"Your clothes are disheveled, my lady."
"Straighten your back. No—stay just like that."
It was the same courteous voice. But the words defiled everything.
I switched to two fingers. Fast, shallow strokes, scraping the inner wall. Each time I pushed in, fluid ran down the back of my hand, soaking my wrist. A dark stain spread across the sheet. The wider my knees parted, the stronger the smell grew.
It was a smell from my own body. A smell that should never rise in a lady's bedroom. The sort that comes only from a bitch in heat—and it was coming from me.
"Nnh……"
However hard I tried to swallow it, a "Hah……" leaked through my nose. The tighter I clenched my teeth, the more my jaw ached, and the more it ached, the deeper my fingers drove.
Getting caught would mean the end of everything—and yet I found myself longing to be caught. If it was Cecile, if it was by Cecile, I thought I could bear being treated like a servant. For any ordinary lady it would be a fate worse than death, but I wanted more.
The footsteps in the corridor stopped. For a moment, silence gathered at the door.
I should have stopped. Pulled my fingers out, pulled my undergarments up, let my robe fall, and lain down with a face that betrayed nothing. But I did not pull out. I drove both fingers to the hilt and pressed my palm against my swollen clit. My waist folded, and fluid dripped down, wetting the insides of my knees.
On the outside I said nothing. Inside, I was already filled to the brim with filthy sentences.
Come in and look at me. Look at all of my depravity. Ruin me. I want Cecile to smell this. Call me a dirty lady, tell me I'm lower than a maid—I want that polite mouth to soil me.
"Nnh…… ha, ……ah."
The climax was not release. It was the summit of humiliation.
The back of a kneeling maid, the frills of her lowered cap, the creases of her black skirt. In the very center of that delusion, my insides clenched and bit down on my fingers. My thighs shuddered violently, and hot fluid drenched my hand, the sheet, and the crotch of my fallen undergarments all at once.
The footsteps faded away again. In the end, Cecile never came in.
The pleasure drained out of me almost at once. What remained was a wet hand and a clit reddened and swollen. Evidence of two fingers, not three—sticky and foul. A stain spread across the center of the sheet. Pressure marks pressed into my knees. Fluid matted in white threads along the crotch of my undergarments.
What would my face look like, if anyone saw it? What would they say of my hand, if anyone saw it? If Cecile opened the door this instant and found me still in this exact position—
That hope was so cold it chilled me, and for a long while I stayed kneeling, forehead pressed to the blanket. I despised myself—a marchioness's daughter doing something like this. And still, I thought: a little more. I wish she'd make me do a little more.
The morning was utterly ordinary.
"It is time to wake, Lady Lisette."
The door opened—that same unlocked door. Cecile came in. Black maid's dress, white apron, frilled cap.
The sheet had already been laundered and laid out. I had washed my hands. And just in case the smell lingered, I had left the window slightly open.
"Good morning."
"……Morning."
Cecile drew back the curtains.
"Straighten your back, my lady. Your shoulders are stooping."
Ordinary words. To me, they were commands. The moment I straightened, my still-aching hips surged into my mind.
"Hands down, please. I'll brush your hair first."
My hands lowered. The very hands from last night.
"Your clothes are a little rumpled."
As Cecile's fingers smoothed my nightgown's collar, they grazed my collarbone. I looked away, murmuring a thank-you. Inside, my thoughts were far filthier. I had been hoping she would point to the stain where I'd folded the sheet aside and ask me what it was.
Cecile was never overt, never lewd. She simply left distance, a gaze, a silence. She did not wrinkle her nose. She only stood a moment by the window, as if waiting for the air to be replaced. That brief pause was what brought me low.
In the dining hall of the vast mansion, my father folded the newspaper he had been reading.
"No trouble at the Academy, I trust."
"None, Father."
"Do not linger your gaze on the servants' mistakes."
"I understand."
"A lady's eyes must be turned toward higher things."
"I keep it ever in mind."
"Your social debut draws near. Do not waver, Lisette."
"Yes, Father."
Words I heard every morning, so familiar I could recite them before he spoke. Words that had once existed for the honor of the marquisate alone—but they had begun to sound different to me now. The command to rise high only made the lowest of places vivid in my mind.
Beneath the table, my knees pressed together. Between them, my clitoris swelled hot and red.
After the meal with my father, I decided to take a bath to cool my overheated body. The water had already been drawn.
Cecile stood waiting, her sleeves rolled up. The damp had soaked through her black dress, clinging in a thin film to her body.
I slipped off my robe. I was naked. Cecile still wore her thin clothes. It was that difference which shamed me first.
The arrangement of it: a marchioness's heir standing bare, while a commoner maid, fully dressed, looked down at my body. There, with my father's words—hold your dignity—still ringing in my ears, I stood in the lowest form imaginable.
"You may get in, my lady."
"Sit here, please. I'll begin with your shoulders."
Ordinary instructions. I sank into the water, and the hem of Cecile's apron drifted into the edge of my vision. The moment the black fabric caught my eye, my clit swelled again. Fortunately, we were underwater—Cecile could not see it. But the sensation of myself opening inside was unmistakable.
Cecile's hands washed only my back, my arms, my shoulders. She did not cross the line. But I wanted more than that.
Look at me. Look at my naked body. Look at me and laugh.
My mind went white. Cecile's touch erased, all at once, everything I was supposed to be thinking about. The heir, the house, the debut, my father's words—what remained was only the thin black dress, Cecile, and my own naked body before her.
And with that blank, white mind, I made a decision.
"……Cecile."
"Yes, my lady."
"I've been sitting too long at my desk. My shoulders ache. Could you…… knead them a little?"
It was the same lie again. Heat rushed to my face. Knowing I shouldn't, my head went dull and heavy, and beneath the water, my lips parted.
"Of course. Do let me know if you'd like the pressure adjusted."
Her hands settled on my shoulders. The neckline of her thin dress brushed close against my back. The pressure traveled all the way down to my pelvis.
"Nnh……"
"Does it hurt?"
"N-no. ……It's fine. Keep going."
Keep going.
How honest those two words were.
Cecile's hands stayed only on my shoulders. Command had not yet passed entirely to her. But her silences had grown half a beat longer than yesterday. And within that silence, I knew.
The one testing the line was me. The one beginning to notice it was Cecile.
Water lapped softly. An heir alone in the bath, and a maid still clothed. My father's command to guard the family honor—and a body growing wetter because of that very honor.
I closed my eyes and counted only the fingers on my shoulders. I did not want the counting to end.
