My Body Became a Nuclear Fusion Reactor
The nuclear fusion reactor was spinning at full power.
Nuclear fusion—nuclear fusion in English—refers to the reaction in which atomic nuclei fuse together in a high-energy plasma state to create heavier nuclei. The nuclei are accelerated to insane speeds by something like a particle accelerator, then slam into other particles or are heated to extreme temperatures. Once their energy climbs high enough, the distance between them shrinks, the strong nuclear force kicks in, and they bind together. That’s the principle. The byproducts are just as insane; the mass defect during the process releases a colossal amount of energy. Of course it’s still a future technology that hasn’t been commercialized in reality yet. But everyone knows about it. It’s the great hope for next-generation energy.
And yet… that very technology had fallen straight into my hands.
“Mana extraction commencing.”
No. My body itself had become the nuclear fusion reactor.
Goddamn it… Once again today I was trapped inside a pitch-black, oppressively thick concrete building, having my mana drained out of me.
