Chapter 66 - Looting Priority List
With a soft sigh, Do Kyung lay pressed tightly against Kim Jun on the camper bed, still completely naked.
Kim Jun slowly sat up from the tangle of sheets.
"Time to head back upstairs?"
"I can't move..."
Do Kyung clutched her lower belly and pelvis, whimpering as the delayed ache came rushing back. Kim Jun scratched his head, then quietly picked up her panties from the floor.
He slid them over her feet and up her legs. Her lower body, wiped clean multiple times with wet tissues, glistened under his touch.
"Lift your legs."
"Heeeing..."
Being dressed by a man while completely bare made Do Kyung's face flush bright red all over again. The panties slid over her smooth white calves, past her thick thighs that she was so self-conscious about, and settled snugly into place. He pulled out her tights next and helped her into those too. Do Kyung grabbed the sports bra lying on the bed and put it on herself.
Once she was fully dressed after their intense session, she grabbed her lower abdomen the moment she tried to stand.
"Ugh!"
"Still hurting?"
"Can you... support me?"
"Support? Come here. Get on my back!"
"?!"
Kim Jun immediately knelt in front of her and offered his back. She hesitated for a second, wondering if it was really okay, before shyly climbing on.
The moment she settled, she felt the solid warmth of his back and the firm strength of his thighs as he stood up without effort.
"Let's go."
"I'm not too heavy?"
"I outweigh you by at least twenty kilos."
Kim Jun carried her up the stairs like it was nothing. At 177 centimeters tall, being carried like a child made Do Kyung's heart flutter despite the pain below. She pressed herself even closer against his body.
Kim Jun felt the soft pressure against his back too. After going at it twice, he probably should have felt some post-nut clarity, but he simply kept climbing until they reached the second floor.
The house was dark and quiet, everyone else already asleep. He gently set her down in front of the master bedroom. Do Kyung turned, wrapped her arms around him, and gave him a quick kiss.
Chu—
"!"
After the light kiss, she quietly slipped into the small room across the hall.
Kim Jun, thinking it was finally over, dragged his exhausted body into the master bedroom.
In the small room, the first thing Do Kyung saw was her roommate Emily lying under the covers.
"Hoo... time to sleep."
"Yeah, that's right~"
"!"
Do Kyung jumped at Emily's voice. She'd assumed the other woman was asleep.
"Unnie, you weren't sleeping?"
"I wanted to hear how it went."
"...Are you insane? Why would you even ask that?"
"Hmm~ Really? Okay then."
Emily giggled and rolled over. Do Kyung felt a surge of irritation, grabbed a pillow, and flopped down hard. Even then, the soft groans of pain from her lower belly continued through the night.
***
A little while later, with Do Kyung now added to the list, only Eun Ji and In Ah remained. Mealtimes had become even more charged with temptation.
The two of them seemed to have a rough idea of what was happening, but they didn't say anything about it.
"In Ah, how's your hand?"
"It's starting to heal nicely."
The injury from the broken glass cup had the bandage off now, with scabs forming. Kim Jun nodded, relieved.
After the meal, he joined a meeting at Mari's request.
"It looks like it's time to restock supplies again."
"Anything specific we need?"
"I've already made a list."
Mari opened her notebook and went through the items one by one.
"First, medicine. As everyone knows by now, we'll need more oral contraceptives."
"Hmm."
They only used them for unprotected sex, but none of the eight people objected to their necessity.
"And with the weather getting colder, more vitamins and glucose would be good. We've been using the basic medicine we grabbed from the convenience store, but properly raiding a pharmacy would be much better."
"Hmmm. Anything besides medical supplies?"
Rana, who had been listening quietly, walked over and sat beside Kim Jun.
"Cosmetics and hygiene products."
"Hey."
"I'm not joking. We really need them."
Rana rolled up her sleeve to show her arm. Her skin was flaking with white patches.
"Why do you think I haven't come to you lately, oppa? My skin's so dry it's producing all this dead skin."
"...Since when?"
"Ever since the Vaseline lotion from the last convenience store run ran out."
Living together in close quarters with eight people meant the list of necessities went far beyond food and shelter. The things required to maintain some level of civilized life were becoming real problems.
Following Emily's earlier complaint about "not enough underwear," now came "we need cosmetics." Kim Jun started writing them down.
"While we're talking about it, I need to hit a hardware store. Barbed wire, plywood, more nails—that kind of thing."
"What are you planning to build this time?"
"We have to keep building. We don't know what we'll need next."
On top of that, they had to keep stocking up on bottled water and fuel from stores as absolute basics.
"Alright. We'll check the generator we've been storing today, then head out again tomorrow. Everyone practice in the meantime!"
"Yes!"
Kim Jun inspected the items he'd grabbed while rushing back during the zombie attack on the house. While he was at it, he loaded one of the electric generators into the car as an emergency spare.
While the eight girls carried out their survival training, Kim Jun spread out a map and marked locations that might have the supplies they needed.
***
It was time to start looting survival supplies again after a long break.
The partners for today's run were Mari and Rana—the ones who had emphasized how important these items were.
"Oh~ First time going out with Mari unnie? Should we show off our chemistry?"
"Sure~ Let's keep it safe this time."
Mari, in the passenger seat, looked around and hoped today would stay calm.
Kim Jun set their destination based on the map he'd studied since yesterday.
"We're heading toward the national highway."
"Oh, the national highway? Isn't that the area you went to with Emily before?"
When Mari recalled the previous trip, Kim Jun wiggled his finger.
"That was the road heading up toward Seoul. This is the opposite direction, heading down. Near where we got the fuel and that girl's mom last time."
"Oh~ So there are still places we haven't explored."
Kim Jun answered Rana's comment from the back seat right away.
He thought about the opposite side of the neighborhood they still hadn't reached.
When will we finally be able to go there... The police station's bullets.
The overpass and surrounding roads were still so packed with zombies that approaching was impossible.
Kim Jun decided to check areas one by one, focusing the search on their chosen destination this time.
As the three drove in silence, movement appeared almost immediately.
"Oppa, zombie on the right!"
At Rana's warning from behind, Kim Jun grabbed the shotgun beside him.
Click—
In the middle of a dried rice paddy, a zombie covered in thick mud shuffled slowly forward.
Kim Jun aimed through the scope.
"Can't we just drive past?"
The top stars had grown used to zombie behavior by now. At Mari's suggestion, Kim Jun considered it for a moment, but still pulled the trigger.
BANG!
The slug bullet struck the zombie's head, sending blood and mud flying. It staggered and collapsed.
"We still need to take care of anything that might cause problems."
It might be fine during the day, but a collision at night could be disastrous. Better to clear them out in advance.
"If they're far enough that the gun's range doesn't reach them, then we can pass."
"Ah, yes. Sorry. I'll remember that too."
Mari immediately pulled out a notebook from the dashboard and wrote it down carefully.
Creating a manual while fighting zombies outside had steadily updated their information like this.
Kim Jun drove past the reservoir where he'd hunted before, then continued beyond the apartment complex.
What appeared next was a small commercial district that had begun developing before the new city was built.
Originally these shops would have been open and bustling, decorating the area. Now only zombies wandered between them.
"Oh no!?"
"What do we do? There are so many!"
Click—
"It's not that many."
Kim Jun calmly loaded both the shotgun and air gun while looking at the dozen-plus zombies ahead.
"Mari, don't stick your body out until I say so. We don't know if any runners will appear."
"Ah, yes!"
Mari loaded her slingshot but stayed ready in case anything unexpected happened. From the back, Rana scanned the camper windows, checking every direction for approaching threats.
Kim Jun aimed first and took down the closest zombie with the air gun.
Ping—
Whoosh—
The zombie dropped after a single hit. Kim Jun then blared the horn to draw their attention.
BAAAAAAAAANG!!!!!
GRAAAAAHHHH!!!
UWOAAAAAARRR!!!
ERRRR... KERRRRRR!!!
They were extremely lucky. Out of more than ten zombies, none were runners. All of them were slow walkers.
Kim Jun immediately switched weapons, pulling out the shotgun loaded with slug rounds.
Bang— click— bang— click—
He dropped two with perfect one-shot kills, but the rest continued their slow, shambling approach without breaking into a run.
"Now! Mari, shoot!"
"Yes!"
Mari steadied her racing heart, opened the window, leaned out, and pulled back the slingshot.
Thump—
CRACK!!!!
The first nut flew fast but missed its target, bouncing off the concrete and sailing uselessly into the air.
"Ah!"
"It's okay. Aim calmly!"
Mari began reloading. In that time, Kim Jun dropped another zombie with the shotgun.
When he had taken down his seventh, Mari finally got a clean shot off.
Crack!
This time she hit. It wasn't the head, but the stomach. The impact made the zombie stagger, though it wasn't a clean kill.
"Ah!"
"Stay calm. Just stay calm."
Kim Jun gave real-time feedback like a mother bird teaching her young to hunt.
"Aim a little higher. Count to three in your head, then pull."
"Ughhhh!"
Mari aimed again, determined to finish it this time, and fired.
The final zombie's head exploded beautifully from the nut.
After delivering the confirmation kills, Kim Jun stepped over the remains and looked around before stopping at the commercial area.
The first shop with its glass completely shattered was a jewelry store.
"Wow!"
"...You want to loot it?"
Rana's eyes sparkled at the sight of the precious metals inside, but Kim Jun looked less than thrilled.
"The shop next door is a hardware store?"
"And next to that is a paint store. Good. I'll check first."
Kim Jun got out armed with an axe, pistol, and fully loaded shotgun at his waist. He searched the paint store first, then the hardware store beside it, and finally the jewelry store. He blew a whistle to check for any movement inside.
After five minutes of searching confirmed it was clear, he let the two top stars out.
"We'll grab paint, wallpaper, and floor mats first."
"Oppa~ But that one..."
Seeing Rana's eyes locked on a 24k gold necklace and diamond ring, Kim Jun sighed.
"We'll loot both. If it's still quiet by then, I'll grab them for you."
"Yesss!"
Kim Jun started collecting from the paint supplier first. The incredibly heavy paint cans, along with color mixers, thinner, and many other necessary items.
"Thinner has so many uses."
"Huh? There's solvent too..."
It had once been widely used as a chemical cleaner but had been banned for environmental reasons three years ago. Yet here it was, still stacked in the warehouse.
Kim Jun smiled wryly and decided to take it as well.
"This'll make some proper fake fuel, huh?"
"What is that?"
"It's a thing. We used it a lot in the military."
Kim Jun brushed off Mari's question and continued loading. He packed the car with plenty of various chemical products.
After that, they gathered wallpaper and flooring from the next store, along with vertical blinds, curtains, and shades. With these, fortifying the house would become much easier.
Even while carrying items from the two stores, Rana kept glancing at the jewelry shop, practically drooling.
After they finished quickly, Kim Jun looked at her sparkling eyes and sighed, nodding.
"Fine. Let's loot the jewelry store too!"
"Wow~ Yes!"
For a moment it felt like they had become thieves, but they began gathering items one by one from the long-abandoned shop.
Rings, earrings, necklaces, watches with gold plating. Golden keys and even gold bars were easy to find once they searched inside.
"I should take this too."
What Kim Jun picked up was a watch repair kit useful for fixing precision parts, along with various mini tools.
Just the items here were probably worth hundreds of millions of won, but in this situation, Kim Jun wondered if any of it would actually function as currency anymore.
***
While the three of them were happily looting various stores, a shadow watched them from afar.
"!?"
Through his telescope, he had first thought the three were zombies and prepared to act. But seeing them gather supplies like looters made him freeze with tension. He quickly hid his body.
"Damn it, survivors?"
With wary eyes full of caution, he quietly decided to slip away.
