Chapter 46: Gather 'Round, Everyone. I'll Teach You How to Kill.
Kim Jun let out a low groan as he woke up. In front of him, a beautiful girl stood completely naked, bending over to pick up her underwear from the floor.
Slide. Slide.
She slipped on her panties first, then picked up her bra and wrapped it around her firm breasts, about to fasten the hooks when Kim Jun stirred.
“Oh, you’re awake?”
“I’m a little worried someone might be outside.”
“It’s fine. Everyone will just assume it happens.”
She had become quite the lady of the house.
The other girls would either leave right after having sex in this room out of fear of being heard by the other members, or they would wake up before Kim Jun and sneak out quietly. But Rana was different.
She stayed until the very end, opened her eyes together with him, got dressed, and walked out as if nothing had happened. Cool as ice.
Kim Jun gently hugged her from behind. She grabbed his arm, rubbed against him affectionately, and kissed him.
His body had already gotten hard again the moment he woke up, but there wasn’t enough time. Rana slipped out first, quietly checking that no one was around before heading to the bathroom. Kim Jun also returned to his own room to get ready to wash up.
After spending the entire previous day rotating between three top stars, Kim Jun devoured a huge bowl of rice with freshly made, crisp kimchi for breakfast and announced his full recovery.
He then worked off the meal by cycling and running on the treadmill until lunch. During the meal, he made an announcement.
“For the time being, we’re not going outside. We’re going to focus on training.”
“Huh?”
The word “training” left everyone looking puzzled.
“We’re going to make weapons that each of you can use. I’ll also teach you how to fight zombies in pairs when I’m not around.”
“Oh! So does that mean we’re finally heading to the front lines?”
When Emily clapped her hands in excitement, Kim Jun wiggled his finger.
“This is purely survival training. I’m not sending you girls out to fight directly.”
“I’m in favor.”
When Gaya raised her hand, the others followed one by one in agreement.
They couldn’t keep acting as porters forever, only pushing zombies away in the worst-case scenario and waiting for Kim Jun’s bullets to fly. That wasn’t sustainable.
So the girls decided to seriously learn combat techniques.
Kim Jun first went to the storage room to gather materials for making weapons.
“Are you making spears or swords?”
“No.”
“Then a bow? I’ve always wanted to try that! Like Hawkeye!”
Ignoring Emily’s chatter, Kim Jun pulled out broken tools, wood, a grinder, and other items to craft his tools.
He made a Y-shaped frame, twisted together rubber bands salvaged from old clothes, and chose smaller nuts instead of the 30mm ones he used for throwing.
The weapon that Kim Jun, who had single-handedly turned his house into a survival shelter with his own hands, chose to make was a slingshot.
The next day, he drew a line five meters away on the first floor after setting up targets and gathered everyone.
“From now on, we’re using these.”
“It’s a slingshot, right? You pull it back like this?”
When Gaya picked it up, she grunted and struggled with the unexpectedly strong tension before finally pulling it back.
“Just so you know, the ammo is this.”
When he showed them the small industrial nuts, the girls realized he was serious.
“If this hits someone, it’d crack a watermelon.”
“We’re really supposed to shoot these?”
“Wow…”
While the girls murmured among themselves, Kim Jun demonstrated first.
He aimed the sturdy slingshot he had made at the wooden target five meters away, pulled the rubber band tight, and fired.
Whoosh—
Crack!!!
The nut flew fast and embedded itself in the plywood target. He fired several more in quick succession, and the board was shredded in an instant.
They had only seen this in comics. Seeing it in real life for the first time, the idols swallowed hard at the power far beyond their imagination.
Then, one by one, they took their stances and followed Kim Jun’s instructions.
“Head up. Not that eye! Close the opposite eye and aim.”
“Ughhh!”
While they struggled just to pull the band, he corrected their stiff arms and posture before letting them fire.
Thwack—
“Kyaa!”
Gaya staggered from the recoil of her own shot. Kim Jun caught her.
Her face flushed hot for a moment, but Kim Jun casually told her to try again. He instructed her to at least hit the edge of the target, but after ten shots that all missed, she shook her head in frustration. He moved on to the next person.
“What’s so hard about this!”
Thwack—
“Huh? Whoa, whoa?”
Next was Emily.
She launched it with plenty of power, but it flew far off target—close to shattering a window. Still, after some practice, she managed to hit the board.
“Hmph!”
Thud—
“Oh! On the first try?”
In Ah hit the edge of the target. After that, Nanika landed shots close enough to form a grouping. Kim Jun corrected their postures.
Next, Nanika, Mari, and Rana took their turns, but not a single one had managed to hit the bullseye in the center yet.
Kim Jun had expected as much, so he continued patiently teaching them until every shot landed on target.
That was when two girls stood out.
Swish!
“Oh?”
Crack!
“Wow!”
Eun Ji silently hit the target with terrifying concentration. Do Kyung, with her superior physique, pulled the band all the way back and fired with such force that the target shook and the sound was more than twice as loud.
“You two have talent with slingshots, huh?”
“Thank you.”
“So in the end, it really comes down to strength? Haha!”
Eun Ji had the focus, while Do Kyung clearly had the raw power.
Kim Jun made them keep practicing slingshot shooting.
They started with proper stance, then moved on to kneeling shots, prone positions, and even leaning out of car windows—using the surrounding terrain to their advantage.
He also gave one strict warning: if anyone ever pointed or pretended to pull the slingshot while others were picking up the nuts used as bullets, he might actually hit them. He emphasized the danger especially strongly.
“Ugh! Hngg!”
“Hey, stop that. You’ll hurt your hands!”
After showing them the example slingshot, he taught them how to make their own for the future. But watching them carve large pieces of wood with knives looked too dangerous, so Kim Jun stopped them.
“Haa, haa! How am I supposed to do this?”
Seeing Rana’s snow-white hands that had clearly never done hard labor, Kim Jun put on gloves and held the part she was carving.
“This would be perfect with a sickle, but we don’t have the right tools.”
The sickle was currently being used by In Ah. Instead, he secured the wood with his leg and smoothly carved it into a decent shape.
“The elasticity of the rubber band is crucial. If you use those thin 200-won ones, they’ll snap immediately.”
After doubling up sturdy rubber bands, testing the pull, and confirming the tension, the girls each made their own. Kim Jun smiled as he watched them.
“Next is learning how to fight zombies in pairs. First, get the canes ready.”
Kim Jun cleaned the walking cane he had used often and handed them out.
He paired them up and started with Gaya and Eun Ji as the first demonstration.
“You’ve used this a lot, right? The moment you spot a zombie, you shove it away like this. Then I shoot it immediately.”
“It’s also good for swinging. That thing is really sturdy.”
In fact, Emily had once smashed a zombie that suddenly jumped out in an alley with the metal end of the cane, knocking it into a wall so Kim Jun could finish it off.
“Swinging is dangerous. If you slip and fall, you die instantly.”
“Agreed!”
He gave a demonstration.
Since it was training, they used the cane as-is, but for the slingshots, they replaced the nuts with torn cardboard pieces the size of a finger, smeared with red pepper paste.
Wearing a head cap, Kim Jun spoke to the pair.
“Alright, I’m the zombie. When I charge at you, do exactly what I taught you.”
He raised both arms realistically, made the groaning sound, and slowly approached.
“Uuuuurrrrgh—”
“Hah!”
In their two-person formation, Gaya immediately shoved Kim Jun’s chest with the curved part of the cane. But he deliberately braced himself.
“Ugh?!”
Thwack—
At that exact moment, Eun Ji fired from close range. Red pepper paste splattered onto the head cap.
Shove, then headshot from behind.
It was exactly by the book—the FM method Kim Jun had taught them.
“Pass!”
“Thank you.”
Kim Jun scooped some of the red pepper paste off the head cap with his finger and ate it, then moved on to In Ah and Nanika’s training.
“L-like this—”
Nanika pushed while In Ah fired, but she was too gentle. The shove slipped off his chest and missed.
“Kyaa?!”
When Nanika staggered after pushing with all her strength and missing, In Ah’s shot hit the head. But Kim Jun had already grabbed both of Nanika’s arms.
“See? In Ah might survive, but Nanika gets bitten.”
“U-ugh… I’m sorry.”
“Let’s try again!”
After several attempts and errors, the In Ah and Nanika pair also passed.
Next were Do Kyung and Emily.
“Uwooo?!”
When Do Kyung charged with powerful force, Kim Jun nearly got pushed back.
He held his ground with strength. Emily fired immediately, but her shot missed.
“Again!”
“Shit! I choked at the worst moment.”
Emily looked frustrated and prepared to try again. Do Kyung was excellent at using raw power to shove, but her slingshot accuracy was the problem.
Finally, when Mari and Rana moved, their approach was simple.
“Yah!”
Smack!
Mari shoved, and Rana fired right away. The problem was that Rana had shot too early.
“Not bad… but your timing was off. Teamwork is important.”
“Sorry. I shot too soon.”
“Let’s try again!”
Still, the girls were interested and gradually adapted to close-quarters combat.
They continued training by switching partners, and later Kim Jun randomly called out pairs so everyone could learn both slingshot and cane techniques thoroughly.
“Absolutely never do this. Like in the movies—grabbing the staff with both hands and pushing with the pole part… you’ll get bitten.”
To demonstrate, Kim Jun held the cane horizontally and told them to push him. Emily stepped forward and shoved.
“Yah!”
Grab!
In that moment, Kim Jun seized Emily’s pale white shoulders with both hands.
“Ah?”
When their faces suddenly drew close in a face-to-face position with her shoulders caught, Emily didn’t panic at all. Instead, she smiled brightly and leaned in closer to Kim Jun.
Chu—
“!?”
The moment their lips met, the other idols watching had their mouths drop wide open.
In the sudden shift from serious training to this, the other members muttered things like “That damn girl is at it again!” but Emily simply smiled and wiggled her finger at them.
Since they had already slept together, a kiss in front of others wasn’t a big deal. Kim Jun had been about to smack her but stopped himself.
The training continued afterward. From then on, they dedicated two hours every day to individual practice.
And when the girls had grown somewhat familiar with it all, Kim Jun went out alone at night, looked around the house, and stared at the rooftop room, lost in thought.
“Should I make a big slingshot up there?”
Even if zombies surrounded the house in the future, having a large weapon ready didn’t seem like a bad idea.
It could fire large ball bearings or even Molotov cocktails.
“Now that I think about it, I should probably teach them how to make Molotovs later too.”
It was genuinely dangerous, but for the sake of survival, Kim Jun’s thoughts grew deeper and deeper.
