Chapter 44: Consoled
Kim Jun’s mind was a storm of chaos on the drive back home.
The people who had fired gunshots at dawn just to announce their presence.
Even though he had hesitated after the last two incidents, he now knew they were the ones who had traveled dozens, even hundreds of kilometers for the sake of other survivors.
And yet, despite everything, he had still believed in humanity.
That was why, all the way back, the same thought kept circling in his head: What if I had gotten there just one hour earlier?
It was in that state of mind that zombies blocked the road in front of Kim Jun’s vehicle.
“Uuuuooooohhh—”
“Uwoooorrr— uuuuuhhh—”
They had the shape of humans, but they were no longer human.
All they knew how to do was make beastly noises, bite people, devour their flesh and blood, and spread the infection.
Their eyesight and hearing were still perfectly intact, so the moment they detected movement, they came charging.
“Fucking hell!”
Bang—!
Fueled by rage, Kim Jun immediately rolled down the window and raised his gun.
He then unleashed a mad barrage of bullets at the monsters wearing human skin.
If it weren’t for these bastards, he could have lived a peaceful life. His furious gunfire continued without pause, aimed at the root cause of everything that had shattered that peace and turned the world into an apocalypse.
Kim Jun didn’t stop until he had killed every last zombie blocking his path home.
The journey felt unbearably long. By the time his car finally pulled into the house in the late afternoon, the children who had come out to greet him took one look at his face and quietly backed away, sensing how serious the situation was.
Kim Jun followed his usual routine to the letter—storing the fuel he had brought in Warehouse No. 1, parking the car, putting the ammunition in the master bedroom—then washed the blood off his body in the shower. After that, he didn’t speak a single word to any of the eight top stars.
“Jun oppa~ Did you get good loot all by yourself?”
“…”
In that icy atmosphere, Emily was the first to approach, asking cautiously. But Kim Jun didn’t answer. He simply pulled out a bottle of soju in silence.
“Hmmm~ Guess today was a bust, huh?”
“Drag her away!”
Gaya, who understood the situation best, immediately ordered Do Kyung and Rana to pull Emily away from Kim Jun’s side.
“Hey, what are you doing?!”
“You really have zero tact!”
“Emily unnie, read the room!”
While Kim Jun quietly drank his soju, the noisy commotion caused Emily to retreat. Afterward, Eun Ji and In Ah silently prepared some side dishes and placed them on the table.
Kim Jun drank in silence, then let out a long sigh and lit one cigarette after another. Not a single woman dared to speak in that heavy atmosphere.
Among them, Eun Ji waited quietly at the table for Kim Jun to speak. Emily, Rana, and Mari kept trying to approach again.
Seeing their bright, expectant eyes, Kim Jun let out another long sigh and finally began to tell them what had happened.
“I found new survivors. They were a police squad.”
“Ah… So the fireworks we heard at dawn were…”
Eun Ji, who had noticed it first, nodded. She had seen the same scene with him.
“If they were police, they must’ve had guns, right?”
“I got two boxes of pistol ammo today.”
“Oh… So you met the rest of the survivors and traded for it?”
“…”
“Guess you couldn’t save them… Ow! Stop pinching me!”
At Emily’s completely tactless remark—tact she had apparently left back in America—both Gaya and Mari pinched her ass, one side each.
Even Rana and Nanika, who had willingly thrown themselves into his arms before, couldn’t say a word about the current situation and didn’t dare approach him.
“They all died right in front of me. They handed over their supplies until the very end. The infected cop put a bullet in his own head.”
“Oh my god…”
Do Kyung’s mouth fell open before she quickly covered it with both hands. Even Emily, who had been acting cheeky earlier, shut her mouth tightly and nodded after hearing about the heroic sacrifice.
“He said he’d been surviving with his girlfriend, who was also a cop… She got bitten. The two of them, at the end…”
“…”
A few of the more soft-hearted girls teared up.
At the heartbreaking story, Do Kyung was the first to get misty-eyed. Nanika and Eun Ji held each other’s hands and lowered their heads.
“Sorry… It was a painful story, and I just…”
“It’s fine. I’ve said everything I needed to.”
Late that night, Kim Jun grabbed several bottles of soju and disappeared into his room while the others went to bed on their own.
The mood in the house that day was more somber than it had ever been.
Crack—
Kim Jun used his teeth to twist open another soju bottle and drank it straight, gulping it down in one go.
He had already lost count of how many bottles he had emptied. Empty bottles rolled across the floor, the room was thick with cigarette smoke, and the ashtray had turned into a forest of cigarette butts.
The last time his mental state had collapsed this badly was when he had happily approached the first survivors they met, only to be ambushed—and Mari had nearly suffered something horrific.
Drinking without any food, Kim Jun glanced at the clock when the next bottle ran out.
It was already 2 a.m.
He had spent the entire day locked in his room, drinking heavily. Leaving the scattered bottles on the floor, he opened the door.
After drinking and smoking that much, even just walking into the living room brought a rush of refreshingly cool air.
He had assumed everyone was already asleep, but the kitchen light was on. A woman was quietly waiting there.
“I thought you might come out at least once.”
“…”
The person waiting was Gaya.
She was the only other person besides him who had moved early that dawn to provide support. As the eldest, she had been watching over him.
Without a word, Kim Jun opened the refrigerator and chugged the cold water inside.
As his alcohol-soaked body finally began to rehydrate, Gaya quietly walked past him toward the master bedroom.
She began cleaning up the stinking ashtray and empty bottles one by one. When Kim Jun returned to the room and saw her doing so, he froze.
“You’ll probably be struggling for a few days. I’ll take care of the other girls.”
“…”
“Don’t worry. We have plenty of supplies right now.”
Gaya had read the situation perfectly and cleaned up every last empty bottle. It seemed the big sister had taken it upon herself to stay up until this late hour, waiting to look after him.
At that moment, Kim Jun stared intently at her.
She was wearing a simple one-piece dress. Her face was bare since she had washed up not long ago, yet her long eyelashes and red lips stood out beautifully.
In a situation where stress and intoxication had reached their peak, Kim Jun grabbed both of her shoulders.
“Eep?!”
When he pulled her with hollow eyes, slowly pushing her toward the bed, Gaya swallowed dryly and tried to calm her trembling heart.
“Um… oppa? At least… lock the door first…”
“Ah, right.”
Click—
He locked the door immediately, lifted her up, laid her on the bed, and climbed on top of her.
It wasn’t their first time. Last time he had hesitated because there were no condoms and ended up using her mouth, but the situation was different now.
The moment Kim Jun slid both hands under her dress, Gaya flinched, her legs trembling.
He gripped her hips and muttered. She twitched even more violently.
The lacy panties with their pleasant, slightly rough texture slowly slid down.
In the dim lighting, Kim Jun tossed the panties that had traced down her beautiful legs behind him, then reached for her top. When Gaya unhooked her bra strap with one hand, it came off easily. Her full, curved breasts were revealed beneath the dress.
With all her underwear removed, wearing nothing but the one-piece dress, Gaya lay on the bed. She bit her lower lip hard as she looked at Kim Jun.
He immediately pulled down his pants and thrust into her without any foreplay.
“Haaah—!!”
The sudden fullness that reached all the way to her cervix made Gaya’s body tremble even harder. Her legs twitched helplessly in the air.
Her face gradually turned bright red as Kim Jun began thrusting above her. The bed started rocking violently.
Creak— Creak—!
“Ugh… nngh!”
Clenching her teeth to hold back her moans, she gave her body to the man who had fallen into panic.
Even while drunk, he pounded into her like a madman. Beneath him, Gaya’s breathing grew rougher and rougher.
Her insides grew tighter and tighter. Kim Jun took one deep breath, paused, then drove in with a long, powerful stroke.
“Ahaaaah?!”
The moment he buried himself to the root inside her increasingly tight walls, Gaya let out the scream she had been desperately holding back.
Kim Jun didn’t stop. He kept thrusting until her face completely changed, then finally released.
Splash— Splaaash—
“Haaaang!”
As her juices and his semen mixed together, soaking the bed, Gaya trembled uncontrollably and reached out to touch Kim Jun’s face.
She had meant to comfort him, and although she had expected intensity, the sex had been so fierce that her lower body had gone numb for a moment.
Without even kissing her once, he had simply fucked her senseless. Kim Jun paused briefly, then began moving again.
“Mmph?!”
His massive shaft, still buried inside her, was twitching.
Even after pulling out once, he was already growing hard again without any need for foreplay. Feeling it swell inside her, Gaya broke into a cold sweat, realizing he had truly decided to go all night.
The moment he grew fully hard again, the second round began without giving her any time to rest.
This time, Kim Jun pressed his face close, staring intently at hers. In the embarrassing situation, her face grew even redder.
“Stick… your tongue out.”
“Yes… mmmph?!”
Following his order, Gaya extended her wet tongue from her moist lips. He immediately wrapped his mouth around it, their saliva mixing together.
With him buried deep inside her, Kim Jun’s hips moved harder and harder. Gaya reached an extreme orgasm and soaked the bedsheet beneath her.
The night of intense comfort he gave her lasted a very, very long time.
