Prologue (Updated March 11, 2026)
A girl who had once been a boy was closer to plants than animals.
Without any likes or dislikes, loves or hates, she simply took in whatever was sown into her own soil.
To become a good child, a good friend, a good student, a good adult.
So, despite vomiting medicine several times, she accepted everything given to her and tried her best to become a good person.
She did her utmost to become a happy person.
But the girl who saw her reflection in the mirror could not find that image.
Her once towering height of over 185cm had become petite at around 158cm, and the muscles she had built with daily muscle pain had turned into the soft flesh unique to women.
The short black hair she had cut had grown long down to her waist, and her eyes began to show a hazy light.
Even if she gathered all the remaining scraps and hugged them to her chest, at best only a mediocre brain that didn’t produce much remained.
Knowledge, wisdom.
Not grand names, but only formulas and methods to solve problems.
And in the way she hugged those things as if they were precious, the girl thought her reflection in the mirror looked like a monster.
When others transformed from children to adults, she seemed to have become something dirty that was neither child nor adult.
Head like a caterpillar, body like a butterfly, legs… anyway…
It looked like a strangely shaped failed creation made by gathering all these things.
No, it was actually a failure.
In the end, it became something that couldn’t become a person.
The girl who had been a boy writhed in such thoughts and slowly sat down in the corner of the bathroom.
Because she could no longer bear to look at the mirror, she wanted to escape from the fact that she had failed, wanted to turn away from the fact that she could no longer be loved, so she turned her gaze away, sat in the corner, and curled up her body.
She closed her eyes.
And she wished she could go to a place where she belonged.
