Chapter 43: Berserk(2)
Chapter 43: Berserk(2)
Lina gazed at the distant Magic City. Beautiful buildings rested atop blue, floating stones that hovered in the air.
The Magic City was a famous tourist destination, and it was a beautiful sight.
But Lina knew the truth. She knew the darkness that lay behind the city’s facade.
The Magic City is rotten.
On the surface, it was a city of fantasy, but beneath it all was a dark, corrupt core.
Lina could still never forget.
As a neutral nation, the Magic City could have prevented the Holy War, but it had been paralyzed by its own internal problems and did nothing.
It had to be connected to the information Kerry had brought back about a hideout in the abandoned mine.
She might finally be able to change one of the major threads of fate from her past life.
“...I just hope the higher-ups of the Magic City aren’t involved.”
In her past life, the problem had been rebellion and riots from within, not outright betrayal, so it was unlikely that the entire city had fallen into enemy hands.
Lina decided to do what she could for now.
Entering the open mine would be easy, but that would be no different from putting up a sign asking the enemy to capture them.
Lina continued her investigation and discovered a trail—the mark of something having been dragged along the ground.
She followed the tracks, pursuing them relentlessly. The trail was getting closer to the mine. This was a good sign.
It’s not heading for the mine entrance. It’s taking a detour.
The trail continued in a straight line, without any sign of hesitation, as if whoever made it knew the path well.
And then, the trail vanished.
It ended abruptly at a large boulder and a thicket of bushes. Lina rummaged through the brush where the last track had been left.
Pushing a little deeper into the thicket, she found a small hole, just barely large enough for a single person to squeeze through.
It was undoubtedly a path leading into the mine. She had found a secret passage.
It was suspicious that they had left such a careless trail to a secret entrance, but considering the mine’s ominous reputation had kept anyone from approaching for over a decade, it was plausible.
Having made a discovery, Lina clenched her fists.
Root out the evil hiding in the Magic City. Doing so would be a great help in the future Holy War.
She might finally be able to change one of the major currents of fate.
With a lighter heart, Lina started back toward the village.
*
Lina descended into the Magic City.
She had no intention of heading straight for the mine. She needed to confirm a few more things.
She couldn't risk endangering her companions with a rash decision.
As Lina was walking toward the inn, she spotted a familiar couple in the distance.
It was Natasha and Kerry. A day had passed since she went berserk, but Natasha still seemed to be without her reason.
She was walking down the street holding Kerry’s hand as if on a stroll, but she growled every time a stranger passed by.
“Grrrr.”
“Natasha. I told you not to growl at other people.”
“Hmph...”
When Kerry chided her with a stern voice, Natasha became docile as if nothing had happened.
“Kerry.”
“Lina? Ah. It looks like you’re back from your investigation.”
“Yes. And it seems Natasha’s condition is still the same.”
“It is. Right now, I’m training her to get used to strangers on the street so she can become more familiar with other people. But it looks like a crowded place is still too much for her.”
“Even this much is amazing.”
Lina was being sincere.
Seeing a berserk Natasha behave so calmly was something she had never witnessed, not even in her past life.
I was right to entrust Natasha to Kerry.
She had no doubt that Kerry would take good care of Natasha. With each passing day, Lina felt more and more grateful for the role he played.
“Well, I’m going to continue our walk. You go on ahead, Lina.”
“Alright. I’ll leave her in your hands, then.”
Watching Kerry work so hard, Lina resolved to properly reward him for it someday.
Of course, Kerry wasn’t struggling at all. In fact, he was rather enjoying himself.
“Natasha. We’ve walked enough. Shall we go back to the clearing?”
At the word “clearing,” Natasha began to bounce with excitement. She remembered that good things happened in the clearing.
Natasha licked her lips and stared at Kerry’s dick.
“No, Natasha. I told you not to stare so lewdly where people can see, didn’t I?”
Natasha lifted her gaze from his crotch to look at Kerry. She really did understand him quite well.
He had even taught her how to control her gaze just in case, so now it was time to enjoy some happy time again.
What should I teach Natasha today?
He checked her stats with the Goddess’s Eye and saw they were gradually decreasing. Her berserk state was coming to an end.
The last time he checked, her berserk state had ended the moment her stats returned to normal. It would likely be the same this time.
Judging by the rate her stats were dropping, he had until lunchtime today at the latest. He decided to enjoy it to the fullest until then.
“Nnngh!”
Natasha let out a cute noise and grabbed Kerry’s hand, hurrying him along. She wanted to get to the clearing as quickly as possible.
*
Natasha felt groggy, as if she had been asleep for a very long time. In a world of complete darkness, only a single voice had reached her.
[Natasha. You have to listen to me carefully. It’s a promise. Got it?]
My husband’s voice?
Natasha had tried to answer, shouting that she would, that she would listen well, but no reply came.
But she could trust her husband’s words. She would do anything he asked.
Her heart ached with a simple, desperate longing to see him.
It was then that Natasha, who had been berserk for over a day, finally regained consciousness.
Looking around, she saw an unfamiliar room. Where was this?
“Husband?”
“You’re awake, Natasha?”
“Where am I...”
“You’re in my room.”
“What?”
The thought of being alone with Kerry in his room made Natasha’s face feel hot enough to explode.
“Ah... I remember everything now. We were supposed to be training. Did it go well? I didn’t hurt you, did I, husband?”
“Of course not. I’m perfectly fine. And the training was a great success.”
“Thank goodness.”
“The results of the training were excellent. I spoke with Lina, and it seems that no matter how badly you go berserk, there won’t be a time when you don’t listen to me.”
She even offered up her pussy when I commanded her. Of course she’d obey.
“I’m so relieved. The power of love truly is great.”
Natasha could feel that her love for her husband had grown even stronger.
Just looking at him made her heart pound with joy.
W-wait... why am I feeling aroused down there... Hngh...
Just from making eye contact with her husband, her pussy began to ache with desire. Natasha was so flustered that she instinctively squeezed her legs together.
“Are you okay, Natasha? Are you hurt somewhere?”
“N-No, it’s nothing. Please don’t worry about it.”
Natasha didn’t know it, but after two days of playing so wetly with Kerry, her body was now reacting on its own.
And it wasn’t just her body that was running wild. Every time she heard her husband’s voice, those words echoed in her mind.
[Natasha. You have to listen to me carefully. It’s a promise. Got it?]
A sense of obedience welled up inside her, making her feel like she had to do whatever Kerry said.
Natasha didn’t remember it, but her body had faithfully retained its loyalty to Kerry.
She didn’t reject this feeling of obedience. After all, Natasha loved Kerry.
Of course I have to listen to my husband. I would do anything for him.
Natasha simply accepted it as a natural development born from her growing feelings for Kerry.
That night, Natasha threw a fit, insisting she would sleep with her husband, but Lina forcibly dragged her away to the women’s room.
*
The next morning, visitors arrived at the inn where Lina and her party were staying. A murmur went through the inn as men wrapped in blue robes entered.
“Those are mages from the Magic Tower. What are they doing here...”
“Shh. Looks like they were sent by someone important. Let’s just pretend we don’t see them.”
“This is the first time I’ve seen those guys who live cooped up in their labs come out in a group like this...”
The blue-robed mages whispered something to the innkeeper.
The innkeeper nodded and hurried up to the second floor.
The people the innkeeper brought down were Lina and her party.
The moment they appeared, the blue-robed mages knelt in unison before Lina.
“Hero, and her companions. It is an honor to meet you.”
As the men in blue robes spoke, a loud buzz erupted through the inn.
“The Hero? I heard there was a Hero chosen by the Goddess, but she’s real?”
“But... do we need a Hero now? It’s a peaceful era.”
“It must mean something big is about to happen. Don’t doubt it. The Goddess’s will is absolute.”
As if to silence the murmurs, the mage who had spoken for the group cleared his throat loudly. The inn fell silent once more.
“We should have greeted you sooner, and for that, we apologize. We had only just heard that you had arrived in the Magic City, Hero...”
“It’s fine. We weren’t expecting this kind of welcome anyway.”
“Not at all. The Hero chosen by the Goddess has graced the Magic City with her presence. It is our duty to host you. The Sage of the Magic Tower is also eagerly awaiting an audience with you. If you would be so kind, we would like to invite you to our Magic Tower...”
“I’m sorry, but I must refuse. We have things we need to do.”
“The Sage of the Magic Tower mentioned he has a gift he wishes to present to you.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Kerry began whispering in Lina’s ear.
Compared to Lina, Kerry was an ordinary-looking man. The mage hadn’t thought much of him.
But the effect of Kerry’s whisper was tremendous.
Lina’s resolute expression slowly crumbled, and she began to clear her throat.
“...I suppose meeting the Sage wouldn’t be so bad.”
“Thank you for reconsidering. We shall guide you to the Magic Tower at once.”
The mage seemed to be in a hurry, as if he feared Lina might change her mind.
He gave Kerry a small nod, a gesture of thanks for helping secure her agreement.
The Hero changed her stance because of that man’s words... I thought she was a stubborn woman. Or is there something special about him?
Looking at Kerry again, he seemed far more impressive than before. The mage made a mental note not to forget to report on Kerry.
Lina’s party boarded the prepared carriage and began to move toward the Magic Tower. The tower was a massive structure that stood tall in the center of the Magic City.
When it came to splendor, it was second to none.
Inside the somewhat solemn carriage, Kerry searched his memory.
From what I’ve heard, the guys at the Magic Tower are supposed to be incredibly arrogant, but they’re being so humble. Is the title of ‘Hero’ really that powerful?
Then again, in the Empire, not even the Emperor could ignore the influence of the Elena Church.
In this primitive medieval world, religion carried that much weight.
Besides, Elena was a real, existing goddess.
I wonder what that bitch of a goddess is up to. Is she watching us from the sky?
Let her watch.
Ever since meeting the Hero, Kerry had been living a life of bliss. The goddess was probably writhing with jealousy right about now.
Lost in his idle thoughts, they soon arrived at the Magic Tower.
“We have arrived. I will go up first to call the Sage. The rest of you, please guide the Hero.”
The mage who had led them went up the tower first. His subordinates then began to guide the party.
“So this is the Magic Tower. It’s quite large.”
Up close, the grandeur of the Magic Tower was incredible. More importantly, give me my present. Surely they won’t just give one to the Hero, right?
Following their guides, they moved to the center of the tower.
Surprisingly, there was an elevator here. It seemed to be a device made of floating stones, just like the city’s buildings.
“The Sage is waiting on the top floor.”
With those words, the guiding mage chanted a spell, and the elevator began to ascend. Neat.
Finally, they reached the top floor.
Opening a magnificent door, they saw a mage with a long, white beard who perfectly matched the image of a sage.
“Welcome, Heroes.”
I wonder how strong this guy called the Sage of the Magic Tower is. Rumor has it he can drop meteors from the sky.
Out of curiosity, he used the Goddess’s Eye. In that instant, Kerry couldn’t hide his shock. He didn’t even register the Archmage Sage’s stats.
[Name – Von Altesmann]
[Occupation - Sage]
[Status – In Heat]
This bastard. What the hell is he?
