An Avalanche of Viewers
Just a few minutes after starting the joint stream broadcast, people who had checked the joint stream announcement from Yeon-a and Haram began greeting me. Since the two hadn’t started their own streams yet, it seemed their fandoms, now without a place to go, were gathering in my stream. ‘This is terrifying…!!’
Honestly, it was scary. The viewer count was climbing at a terrifying pace. The stream that had absorbed both of their audiences had already surpassed one thousand viewers. ‘I-I can’t control this alone……’
Jiwoo and Minu were diligently watching the stream, and not a single swear word had appeared in chat yet, but I was still terrified. With this much activity, even the two of them seemed like they might struggle to keep up. I was starting to think I really needed to hire a manager soon. The sudden growth in the stream’s size was overwhelming.
“Uh, u-uh… H-Hello.”
I awkwardly smiled and greeted the sudden influx of viewers. Then Yeon-a and Haram appeared in chat.
With that, Yeon-a left to prepare her own stream. Haram followed right after.
Thanks to the two of them keeping an eye on things, the chaotic chat had calmed down somewhat. Everyone had just stopped by while waiting, so they would leave soon anyway.
‘They’ll be gone soon anyway… Yeah, soon……’
I glanced at the viewer count without moving my head much.
“Huuuuh……”
I felt like I was going insane. The viewer count was still in the four digits.
The viewers kept babying me like that. My heart gradually softened, and only then did I move my head to show the Jireongis and new viewers that I was still alive.
“A-Ahem…! H-Hello……”
“I-It’s a nice lunch, I just turned it on because I had nothing else to do… The joint stream is around 6 p.m. tonight.”
“Ah… I would’ve posted it on a fan café, but I don’t have permission, and I’m too shy to join anyway……”
When I said that, the viewers were shocked, asking if I knew the fan café existed but couldn’t join because I was shy. Embarrassed, I answered in a tiny voice while staring at the floor.
‘So embarrassing……’
People had come all this way, yet here I was just staring at the ground. It felt like I was being rude.
“Um… Should I show you something at least…? Since you came… I-I should at least do some clowning around, right…?”
The viewers told me it was fine when I said I couldn’t just sit there doing nothing.
“Ah… It’s a viewer participation match.”
My mouth moved on its own again. Worried whether it was okay to say that much, I glanced at Discord.
“Phew……”
Thankfully, it had been okay to say. A sigh of relief escaped me. Meanwhile, chat went wild.
“There’s a tier gap, so we can’t do a stomp match. We’ll play normal games… and at the end, we decided viewer participation would be fine too.”
“N-No… I’m going to do a basic EoW lesson… Suika is just on the side? Hehe, I like it, our daughter.”
“……”
Everyone was busy teasing our champion. As if the champs they played were so much better.
‘Just you wait… Today I’ll make you acknowledge it.’
I kept glancing at chat while thinking that.
Looking at the viewers who were driving me crazy like that, I excitedly launched EoW.
EoW itself wasn’t particularly fun anymore. I was basically playing on autopilot by now. But I liked that people were watching me. Every time I got a kill, they made a huge fuss and cheered, and I didn’t know what to do with how happy that made me.
“D-Don’t praise me so much… M-My heart’s gonna explode.”
“H-Hiik… Cool it down a bit… I-I’m not cute. Say I’m cool instead.”
Being called cool made me happier than being called cute. The thought that it might be because of my past life flashed through my mind.
“N-New Year’s, Kits is a bit earlier. R-Right?”
“I-It’s a s-secret!”
Scared by the chat filled with “cool,” I turned my gaze back to the game screen. I kept playing EoW until the joint stream started.
* * *
After about four hours of EoW and one hour of song requests…
“Uheee… I-I’m sweating……”
I had sweated a lot from singing and playing EoW so hard.
When the song ended, perverts offering to buy my sweat and people defecting from Dong-Gyul and Bitmul to become Jireongis started appearing one after another.
“…W-Why would you buy sweat.”
How gross.
“I used to sweat a lot when I did manual labor too.”
When I mentioned manual labor, everyone freaked out. It wasn’t like I couldn’t have done some manual labor.
“I-I didn’t do it for long… From the middle my legs stopped listening to me, so it was dangerous.”
I tried to calm them down, but chat only burned hotter. Not knowing what to do, I decided to just stay in Discord.
“K-Kits is here……”
Yeon-a was using polite speech. I thought that was fresh and smiled brightly. When Yeon-a appeared, the topic in chat shifted.
“I-I’d feel a little sad if everyone left……”
“Heheh.”
After that, Yeon-a’s stream went live, and about five hundred of my viewers left. A few minutes later, Haram’s stream started, and another seven hundred left. In the end, only around five hundred viewers remained in my stream. That was still plenty, so I wasn’t particularly disappointed.
‘A few more stayed than usual. They must have stayed for me a little.’
I was simply grateful to those who remained.
Yeon-a’s habit of raising her voice while pretending to be cheerful when holding back anger.
‘I should just stay still……’
Yeon-a had never gotten angry at me, but I had seen her get angry at the delinquents plenty of times. And back then, Yeon-a was……
Anyway, it was best to stay quiet.
