Morning Broadcast and Sweet Permissions
Yuna sat in a dark room after her eating broadcast, headband removed and glasses off, letting out a long sigh as she stared at the rendering gauge on her screen. "Phew… it's done." She'd gotten so hyped watching the live stream that she'd impulsively thrown together a mad movie. The original six-minute playtime had been stretched as much as possible by splicing in footage from different angles. She'd cut the coolest parts from each perspective, but it still looked pretty awesome overall.
"…Now I just need permission to use the footage, right…?" Yuna muttered, stretching her tired body. Since she didn't have any personal connections, she decided to message the boss directly to ask for viewpoint usage rights. Of course, she couldn't help worrying whether their adorable, slightly timid boss would actually handle it well.
"…I wonder if she'll manage it."
Yuna sent the message with her usual bright energy, then waited nervously for a reply from her favorite boss. It came almost immediately.
"…!!" Yuna's eyes widened. The boss had called it a "monumental first video" and suggested watching it together tomorrow. Her heart pounded at the thought.
"Whoa… so this is the power of being an employee." She could watch the video with her favorite VTuber on Discord. The happiness was overwhelming.
Yuna nodded, feeling dopamine surge through her.
The boss sounded exhausted. Yuna had wanted to ask for more scolding in that voice, but remembering how tired she'd looked last time, she held back.
"…I'll ask once we're closer." Yuna mumbled to herself. About ten minutes later, she received Discord messages confirming that both Kits and Akari had granted permission.
"Yes…!" Yuna set the upload time while yawning, then smiled happily as she drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, I woke up earlier than expected and stared at my phone while yawning. "Huh… did I send this?" The phone I was clutching tightly contained messages I didn't even remember sending. It was a conversation with my editor, Yuna, about needing permission to use the video sources. She'd handled everything perfectly even while half-asleep.
"Haram and Yeon-a… they both gave permission." I double-checked, worried I might have lied in my sleep, but both Haram and Yeon-a had readily agreed.
"…Thank goodness everyone's so kind." I sniffled and muttered, then stretched while breathing in the slightly chilly morning air.
"Maybe I should air the place out a bit…" Even though I was still a little scared, I gripped the box cutter tightly, took a deep breath to calm myself, and slowly approached the window. The blackout curtains that always protected me. I had to step away from my reliable friend for a moment.
"Thanks, as always." After saying that, I flung the curtains open with a whoosh. The smell of wet earth after rain washed over me. I sniffed it in and smiled softly.
"…Smells nice." Wet earth after rain really does smell good. It's the kind of scent that puts your heart at ease and makes you feel refreshed. Plus, it carries that rainy-day feeling, which makes it even better.
"The clouds are out… thank goodness." I decided I could leave the window open a little longer today and cracked it halfway. It was a bit cold, but it was necessary for healthy lungs.
"…Let's do our best again today." I murmured, a gentle smile forming on my lips. I'd live through today with all my strength. There was nothing difficult about it. I just had to take it one slow step at a time.
"Maybe I'll shower, eat breakfast, and start streaming……" Deciding to reheat the simple lunchbox I had at home, I grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom.
After showering, I stood in front of the microwave with a towel wrapped around my head, staring blankly inside. They say microwaves emit radiation, but……
"…Then I must be cooked too, huh……" With that thought, I watched the lunchbox spinning. It was the delicious one Yeon-a had bought for me. There were still several left, so there was no need to save them.
-Ding! With a pleasant sound, the lunchbox finished heating. Smiling brightly, I popped a pair of wooden chopsticks into my mouth and lifted the container with both hands.
"Hot hot hot!!" It was hotter than I'd expected—way hotter. I almost dropped it, but instead of letting the lunchbox fall, I shed a single tear and limped quickly toward my desk.
After setting everything up and adjusting the camera, I spoke. "Breakfast… I'll do it as a cam stream… The house is clean and the window's open, so… I think the viewers will like seeing this." Of course, I wasn't actually showing everything. Only my desk, part of my upper body, and my lower body would be visible. Skipping the "full face test" for today, I turned on the stream.
Quite a few people were already joining in the morning. Surprised, I widened my eyes. "Huh, there are more people than usual…?"
"Because of that…? Oh… hello." I waved at the new viewers. The chat sped up immediately.
Embarrassed by the chat calling me excited, I fidgeted with my hands, waved again, then picked up my chopsticks.
-Snap! Snap! The chopsticks split with a sound. I stirred the rice roughly with them before reaching for the side dishes.
"This… is the lunchbox Kits bought me… What kind was it again? Soya…? Yeah, anyway, it's that one." I said, picking up an octopus sausage and showing it to the camera. It looked surprisingly cute.
"Nom…!"
The Jireongi told me to eat well after my playful "nom!" I felt a little proud as I continued talking. "Did everyone eat breakfast yet…? What are you all doing right now?"
"…Ah, I'm sorry." I must have touched on a sensitive topic. I apologized quickly and glanced around while making empty hand gestures.
"No… don't die… Um, delicious." I said while putting food in my mouth, and the Jireongi burst out laughing. Smiling contentedly, I happily chewed and swallowed more food. After that, it was just casual chat time.
"The morning stream will end once I finish eating this, and I'll turn it on again tonight……"
Two questions I needed right then. I smiled brightly and answered. "Tonight… I'll show off the cutest thing I have…!!" The chat sped up instantly.
"Eh…?" The reaction made me think, "The cutest thing I have isn't me, though…?"
