The Red Dragon's Roar
The volcanic wasteland bubbled and churned with molten lava, while a crimson-black sky pressed down on us like it wanted to crush every living thing beneath it. And there, soaring freely through that hellscape, was a single dragon.
It was far more intricately crafted than the default Ender Dragon in Minecraft. The sheer presence it radiated made it hard to believe this was still the same game. I swallowed hard as I stared at the creature.
“…W-wow…”
It was just… incredibly cool. The kind of thing that strikes right at a man’s heart.
“It feels like something that really stirs a man’s heart…”
“Ah… right.”
The moment I realized what I’d said, I wiped the memories of my past life from my mind and refocused on the dragon. Its body was a deep blood-red, covered in crocodile-like armor plating, with distinctive black lightning-like streaks running all over it. The more I looked, the more I could only sigh in pure admiration. I couldn’t even begin to imagine how they’d made something like this.
The Village Chief and I will charge in first! Archer Giseong and Lady Yeowu, please provide support!
While I stood there dazed, staring at the dragon, Chief Kei—who had clearly done this raid multiple times—barked out orders without hesitation.
Mom, get in front of me!
Eek…! Yessir!
Haram hurriedly grabbed her shield and clumsily moved in front of Yuna, the priest. Since she was a miner by class and honestly pretty bad at games, she’d ended up as the tank. Still, you had to give her credit for her sense of duty.
I wanted to say something encouraging, but before I could—
The Master of the Volcano, the Red Dragon, has become hostile toward you!!
A massive dragon swooped right over our heads. Crazy…!
“Healing incoming!!”
Yuna suddenly announced. I was confused for a second, but then the dot damage from the heat started ticking in.
“Ouch…”
This is just the beginning, Snake. Are you any good at games?
“Huh? Ah, yes…”
The dot damage was roughly canceled out by Yuna’s dot heals. The moment I confirmed that, the dragon landed in front of us and let out a piercing roar.
Good thing you’re skilled. Support me. The weak point is the horn on its back. You’ll need to dodge the fire breath really well.
“D-dodging is my specialty.”
Glad to hear it. Let’s do this.
With those words, the Chief activated a skill and charged forward. The Warrior class had two skills: a rapid forward dash that slashed everything in its path, and a wild flurry attack. If you mixed Gale and Blade Storm properly, you could practically fly while carving up the boss. I already had a perfect feel for how to use them, and my heart was pounding with excitement.
This is gonna be fun…!!
I immediately activated my skill and shot forward. If the Red Dragon had been a real living creature with an AI, it would have realized one thing instantly: it was already dead.
The temperature is too high!!
The sound of dot damage ticking away reached my ears. Burning effects flared up around me, but they only made me shine brighter.
“…Let’s go.”
I glanced at the chat while floating in the air, gave a small smile, and answered.
“I won’t die. Because it’s me.”
I had no idea how beautifully Yuna would edit this scene. Or that this single moment would end up seducing massive corporations like Giseong, Yeowu, and Kei.
Kei was currently losing his mind.
And he wasn’t the only one. Suhyun had shot upward in an instant. Who wouldn’t be shocked seeing that?
“No…!! That’s way too dangerous!!!!”
The chat was also full of questions about Suhyun’s actions. It was a playstyle no one could understand. And of course, it was Suhyun doing it.
Kei—Junsu—moved quickly to try and salvage the situation. He used Gale to launch himself high into the air, then maintained altitude with Blade Storm. He dropped, used Gale and Blade Storm again to stay airborne, and closed the distance until he was close enough to hear Snake’s voice.
“Snake! This is too dangerous! Pull back for now! If you die we can’t clear it!”
The chat was uneasy, and Junsu felt the same. Snake wasn’t even looking in his direction. She was simply falling. She wasn’t maintaining altitude at all. Junsu was about to shout again when he heard it.
“I won’t die. Because it’s me.”
It was Suhyun’s low, calm voice—completely different from the trembling one earlier. A voice full of real pressure. The chat was momentarily stunned. Then Snake dropped straight onto the Red Dragon’s neck.
“You crazy…!!”
Right on cue, the dragon unleashed its first heat-based attack. Junsu squeezed his eyes shut. Suhyun was definitely going to die. He was already preparing to leave the raid when he heard her voice again.
Yuna!!! Now!! Heal…!
Someone was calling her name. Kits reacted instantly and focused all her healing on one person.
“…!?”
Everyone in the audience had already given up. But Junsu was sensing something.
Is this…?
The so-called “YouTube moment.” And then it happened. The green healing effect from the priest mixed with the Red Dragon’s flames as Snake landed on its back—no, more accurately, she used Gale to punch a massive hole straight through it.
In an instant, two-sixths of the dragon’s health had been shaved off. Snake didn’t stop there. She used Gale again to charge forward, then activated Blade Storm at the same time.
The dragon’s agonized cry rang out as its health dropped at a terrifying speed. The priest’s heals had a cooldown reduction effect. Junsu had just remembered that.
“…The cooldown reduction must have been insane. So that’s why she’s doing that right now.”
Junsu’s eyes widened. At the same time, Snake was alternating between Gale and Blade Storm like a madwoman, shredding the Red Dragon’s health all by herself. He wanted to join in, but he could barely even keep up with his eyes. Then a barrage of arrows began raining down alongside her.
Rapid fire in progress…!! Sorry Snake! Please dodge!!
Yeowu’s bow was firing at an unbelievable rate. And Snake was dodging even those arrows while continuing her assault.
Less than six minutes after the raid had begun—
With the Red Dragon’s final screams, the Very Hard mode was completely crushed.
Junsu stood there completely stunned. He stared at Snake’s character, who was breathing heavily.
W-what did I say… I told you I wouldn’t die……
It was the voice of a pure, innocent girl—slightly brighter now, but clearly exhausted. Junsu couldn’t help but be amazed.
“Crazy… she really is a monster.”
He turned off his Minecraft mic and spoke to the viewers. Their reactions were pretty much the same.
The viewers still couldn’t shake off the afterglow. More than anything, they seemed completely hooked on Suhyun’s gap moe appeal.
This… if we upload this together with her cute voice clips on YouTube, it’ll blow up. Well, I should wait until she uploads it first.
Junsu was the kind of man who still had basic decency. He sincerely repented for ever doubting the GOAT and looked at Snake with eyes full of trust and respect.
And Suhyun, receiving that gaze, was thinking—
D-did I do something wrong!? Am I in trouble!?
She was genuinely anxious.
