RaeX
Being a VTuber like Wayo comes with a ton of perks.
I mean, brains, looks, personality—you name it, it'd take forever to list them all.
But the one thing pretty much every viewer agrees on is my Rel skills, hands down—especially my FPS chops.
And why not? The game I've streamed the most is straight-up Rel.
After that, it's JotG, I think.
In that battle royale FPS where 100 players duke it out in a shrinking safe zone, I've got a truckload of mad movies from Wayo racking up kills.
They make up like 30% of my kirinuki clips, too.
For reference, the rest is mostly low-chat stuff.
Dunno why Rel doesn't get kirinukis made.
Anyway.
So why am I yapping about FPS games right now…?
"RaeX finally went official?"
Because the gun game we've all been waiting for is finally about to drop official.
Last Exit
It's got this concept where you're escaping a quarantined Russian city for some reason.
Gameplay's simple.
You get matched with a bunch of randoms on a map.
Clear quests inside or grab valuable loot and make it out alive.
It looked pretty famous and fun, so I've been hyped for it forever.
And now it's finally going official.
"When's the open?"
"Why didn't you guys tell me sooner? This is the game I've been grinding for."
Didn't know it was tomorrow, though.
If I had, I wouldn't have booked my schedule.
Feeling a bit salty about it, I ask, and chat scrolls up fast.
Did I only hype it in my head?
Whatever.
Still, good thing I found out early.
I've got a schedule, but it starts early afternoon, so if I yarikkiri it, I should be fine.
"This resets with the season, right? Gotta hit games like this at season start."
Last Exit—RaeX for short—is seasonal.
Even vets start fresh with newbies, guns at the ready.
"Watched tons on Nertube."
I binged Nertube while waiting for official, so I get the game inside out.
Basically a vet at this point, same as anyone else.
Well, no minimap makes it kinda user-unfriendly, so maps might trip me up.
"Hell yeah, bitch."
Perfect timing too—no games on deck lately.
"Open run tomorrow, so stand by, everyone."
"You gotta open run too."
FYI, RaeX is notorious for being brutal to newbies.
So yeah? Can't suffer alone.
Misery loves company, right?
The next afternoon.
Should've wrapped work quick and been hyped for RaeX open by now, per plan.
But reality hit hard.
"Meeeow…."
I spaced out on a bench, staring at the sky.
The setting sun just mocked me.
"What's up?"
"Nothing…."
Shoot's not wrapping.
Not my fault—staff screw-up.
The rookie straight-up smashed the main camera.
We're fucked, I thought, so I dipped outside.
For minor slips, I'd say chew 'em out later, let's roll.
But this mess? Had to ghost.
I'm perceptive like that.
No model around, they can curse up a storm and hunt a new cam for reshoots.
"How's the vibe inside?"
"They're gonna smoke one kid."
"Director's chill though, it'll blow over quick."
And me dipping so smoothly?
Cuz I'm tight with the director.
Veteran ad guy in the biz, super gentlemanly.
Known him since I was like 10.
"Gentlemanly?"
Rosélia, who'd peeked inside, tilts her head.
Makes sense.
"Relative term."
From what I've seen, he's gentle only with kids or top performers.
Back then, lil' ace Ahyeon got all his favoritism.
"Getting dark…."
"Still early sunset."
Of course, chill or not, I just want this shoot done.
Venue's near home, quick commute, but as-is? Open run's iffy.
"Something urgent?"
"Nah…."
RaeX is what folks call a scrap-collecting game.
Sell scraps to gear up, then dive the map.
That's why open run's key.
Once frontrunners gear up and bail, you're stuck in unfair scraps.
Anyway, killing time on the bench, glaring at the clock.
"Um…."
A young staffer my age sneaks up.
"S-sorry!"
Eyes puffy, nose red—she bawled hard.
Makes sense, camera-smasher got reamed.
"Cuz of me, the shoot's delayed…."
But coming to apologize means inside's wrapped.
Apology plus fetching me, two birds.
Wrapped quicker than expected?
Was bummed, but this turnaround lifts my mood.
"You cried?"
"Y-yeah?"
I hop up, pull a hanky from my pocket.
We types carry one.
"Wipe with this."
"Y-yeah?"
She freaks at the blatant luxury logo.
"Shit happens."
"Uh, uh…."
Icy urban model Kim Ahyeon comforting? She blanks, takes it.
Hey, I can be nice.
She's my age, looks like.
Newbies grow through fuckups.
"I'm good, pull yourself together."
Could bitch about the delay.
But Ahyeon's stoic, not hysterical.
…Unless director starts a pissing contest—then I flip tables.
"Thank you…!!"
But not here.
And above all…
"Rosélia, let's head in."
Open run awaits—no time for salt.
Time to yarikkiri?
What's a vet on a deadline?
Nailed it at the shoot.
But my hustle? Went poof.
"Fuck!!"
Finally made open run.
Server crashed—can't even log in.
"This is hilarious?"
FYI, I splurged on the priciest package.
Royal Package—200k won, all the in-game perks.
"Shouldn't Royal users like me get priority?"
Can't log in? Money down the drain.
Royal's the black sheep edition—even vets skip it.
Yet frosty consumer Wayo bought it, took the L, and this is the welcome?
"Proof of popularity, right?"
Might as well spin positive.
Didn't expect login hell, but means tons of hyped players like me.
Comforting.
"Oh yeah?"
Forcing positivity.
Then chat drops a fix.
Restart launcher—ancient wisdom.
PCs, people: reboot first.
Killed launcher, relaunch.
"Same shit."
"Hagya logged in?"
"Fuck me."
Chat's cucking me—sigh.
Just me at the door?
This Wayo?
Wanna spam restarts till it works, but streaming—no can do.
Perfect open run dream? Dead.
Sigh, boot Rel first.
"At least we can play today, right?"
Good thing Rel exists.
Time-killer GOAT.
"Every Rel game, I'll retry login."
"Right?"
Servers'll stabilize mid-game.
Faith.
Five hours later.
After L L W L L W L L, retry launcher.
"Whew."
Error screen? Impressed now.
"God game."
This game.
Fun? Yeah, fun.
Finally logged in.
Two hours later.
