Muhyeopjeon No-Kill Run Begins
Muhyeopjeon requires you to pick three things when you first start the game.
Choose your sect.
First up, the sect.
This decides where you start—basically one of the most important choices in the game.
"Haenam."
Already decided.
Men and the sea, right? Of course.
What is your name?
Next, the name. That's set in stone too.
Looks like it's fixed to male characters? In that case.
Han Seongwon
Seongwon it is.
I left a ton of humiliation in Pawn World.
But that doesn't mean Seongwon's gonna die.
Time to make up for it. I started the game.
By the way, the third start choice comes up at the chapter beginning.
And so... Han Seongwon, you are our sect's hope.
Yes, sect leader...!
The sect's pretty much fucked right now, and if things continue... After the sect leader's explanation like some rider.
Now, the sect's secret armory.
Then you're led to a rundown, damp armory.
This is where you pick your weapon, the third choice.
Haenam Sect has deep history and was once powerful, so the weapon list is pretty diverse.
"What greatsword in wuxia?"
Might make sense in medieval fantasy, but in wuxia? No way.
Of course, they exist.
Not exactly greatsword, more like a dao? Something heavy you smash with the blade weight...
Isn't that for bandits? Or northern barbarians maybe.
"Right? Sword it is."
Obviously sword over dao.
With that in mind.
"Hmm, any reverse-blade swords around~?"
I hummed while dragging through the sword list.
"You don't know reverse-blade sword? Blade's on backward."
Not anything else. There's a no-kill route in one of the paths.
So, reverse-blade sword it is.
"Yeah, that's the kick point."
The point of the reverse-blade sword is the blade faces the user.
You stick to no-kill with the blunt side, and every time you wield it, you face the blade to atone for past sins. That's the charm...
...I explained the reverse-blade sword myself, but the reaction's not landing well.
"Tch."
They don't get romance.
Didn't these people watch cartoons as kids?
The one where the samurai with the reverse-blade sword slaughters villains.
Still lives in my heart.
Well, it's a comic over 30 years old now.
"Too bad, guess I'll take this."
No reverse-blade in the warehouse, so I grabbed a wooden sword.
Actually, this is the national rule weapon for no-kill routes.
How do I know?
Looked it up while downloading.
Heard about no-kill, so I checked a bit.
Don't know details, but hitting with wooden sword doesn't kill easily.
"How hard can combat be in a dating sim?"
Anyway, after picking the weapon, I learned martial arts from the sect.
Namhae Sword
Namhae Thirty-Six Swords
Haenam Sect's arts mix quick sword with variable forms.
Like fast waves, it says.
"Water breathing, basically."
Not exactly water breathing.
More like a waterwheel spinning nonstop?
Anyway, the point is relentless pressure.
Now! The rest you must awaken yourself!
Yes, sect leader!
After learning from the sect leader (sect's fucked, he's the only teacher).
"Thanks for the shitty circumstances!"
Grabbed some money and food, then ditched the sect immediately.
"Huh? Why?"
Truth is, no need to save Haenam Sect.
"It's supposed to be ruined anyway."
Know why I picked Haenam?
Sea man romance has its share, but.
I never planned to stay in the sect.
Sects in the center leave lingering regrets and stick in your mind.
But Haenam? Like a kendo clan on Jeju Island in Korea.
Once you leave, no looking back.
And when you're born, you head to Seoul.
Why stay on Jeju if you're not from there?
"Not like I'm leaving empty-handed."
"When I become the world's best later, I'll rebuild it. New Haenam Sect."
Of course, one ending is saving the clan, so not totally abandoning.
Plan to grow strong, come back, and revive.
Isn't that what the last disciple of a sect does?
It's already labeled ruined, debts everywhere.
Just file bankruptcy and fresh start.
Anyway.
"Alright, let's go."
Haenam's last hope, bundle on back, wooden sword at waist, boarded a ship to the Central Plains.
Thanks for the 1,000 won, XX!
Wayo, got a heroine you're aiming for?
Just arriving in the Central Plains by ship.
Someone asked about heroines in the dono.
"Huh? Not doing romance."
"No-kill ending."
My goal's been no-kill since hunting the reverse-blade sword.
No, since install finished.
Romance... eh, maybe with Haenam revival.
"It's an ending the game provides."
"Argh, so many boat rowers."
These people...
Don't they know Wayo's stream has only one rower, me?
"That doesn't work anymore."
I moved the hand tracking despite the sticky chat.
Wiggle wiggle.
Wayo avatar recognized by camera and moved.
"Fuck off."
Flipped off the viewers.
Dun care, doing no-kill ending.
Looks like combat's fun anyway.
"But hey, won't push away whoever comes first."
"Anyway, there's some unorthodox scrub over there—let's shake 'em down."
Heroines later.
First, try combat.
Approached the unorthodox scrub with wooden sword over shoulder.
Who the hell are you?
Big scar on face, ponytail guy drew sword on sight.
Talk
Attack without words
Two choices popped up.
"No need for words!"
Picked the latter without hesitation and attacked.
Gack!
"First strike rules in a fight."
Especially for Haenam sword.
It's a whirlwind after the opener.
"Die!"
Whacked the guy nonstop with wooden sword.
Shoulder, head, head, shoulder.
"Oh."
Waist, waist, groin, groin, waist.
Muhyeopjeon has graphics and controls like Outwind.
Soul-like combat, basically.
Argh!!
But unlike souls, the scrub's rolling on the ground hard.
Ah, wuxia game, so Na-ryeo-ta-gon?
"Hiya!!"
Kept beating the rolling donkey relentlessly.
"Namhae Thirty-Six Swords!!"
Used Haenam ultimate (proficiency near 0) on his waist.
Guuuaack!
The rolling scrub's waist bent like a bow.
Collapsed into a perfect L-shape.
"Phew..."
"Not dead. Just shrimp-man now."
"Only good gang is a dead gang."
"Combat's nothing special, huh?"
More importantly, combat's easy?
All that fuss about it being hard.
"We'll see as we go."
Viewer panic's old news.
Looted shrimp-man's pockets and hit the road again.
"..."
Stared silently at the 14th gray screen.
Even Rel doesn't see 14 deaths often.
"One sec."
Excuse me and picked up phone.
Don't use phone mid-stream much, but...
[...Hello?]
"Coffee."
[This late? I got morning class tomorrow...]
Click.
Coffee transfusion needed.
"Let's go?"
Had tomorrow schedule, tried to hold back...
This fires me up though.
