Large Server
Out of all the jobs in this massive server, why'd I pick taxi driver? There are a ton of reasons, but...
The biggest one? It looked like it had the most freedom.
Cops, gangsters—
Those all come with the basic premise of belonging to some group and following orders.
But who am I?
Wayo, the super rookie VTuber in her first year.
The kind of gamer who's destined to top the South Korean scene someday.
Working under someone? Not really my style.
Of course...
The guy who wrote my recommendation letter wasn't thrilled, but what can you do?
I'd already decided on taxi driver.
Anyway, so...
"Rainy Honam Line~"
I'm driving the taxi right now.
Vrooom!
"Whoa, the handling's smooth."
Haven't picked up any passengers yet.
Just cruising the map in the taxi.
"Not quite ready yet."
Calls are coming in, sure. But first, gotta learn the roads.
What if I pick someone up and fumble around lost?
Oh, by the way, taxis here have custom slogans.
Taxi's Wayong
Wayong Driver
I've got a pretty slick one on mine too.
"Isn't it catchy? Explains all the calls I'm getting."
"Yeah, sure~"
They act impressed but grit their teeth anyway.
I brushed it off and hit the road again.
"Graphics are nice."
It's an older game, but the backgrounds hold up.
The city's pretty, and the hills rolling by the roadside are soothing.
"Outwind had nice views too."
The natural scenery reminds me of Outwind.
That game had killer landscapes.
By the way, I haven't touched it since that day.
Starting over felt too daunting.
It was a two-player game anyway—maybe I'll duo it someday.
"Hm?"
While I was lost in thought, driving along...
The default character's phone rang.
Glancing over, it's that Haega guy.
How'd he get the in-game number?
Hm, if I pick up, he'll just chew me out for taxi driver again...
Click.
I quietly hung up.
"Tch, who checks their phone while driving?"
"If it's important, he'll come find me."
"Dunno."
Grateful for the rec letter, but I'd rather not run into Haega if possible.
"I've looped the city once—time to take some calls?"
He's a cop, after all.
Regular folks shouldn't cross paths with cops.
Anyway, after about 30 minutes of taxi-ing...
"This is legit taxi driver life."
I was more surprised than expected at how real it felt.
Pick up passenger, drive, get paid.
Ask stuff like "Where to? What's your job?" in between.
Didn't play politics radio, but it was a full-on authentic taxi sim.
Novel feeling, sure, but...
"Why's the base fare so cheap?"
Can you even make money like this?
It's supposed to be a money-making game at its core.
Server has tons of content you unlock with cash, but looks like I won't see any.
"You can rob banks?"
"Nah, I'm an emotional everyman—crime's not for me."
"That's Wayo."
The cold, rational top laner who stays emotionless, sending sides even when allies push main—that's Wayo.
Here on this server? I'm Wayong, humble taxi driver.
RP server's strict, gotta keep it real.
Though it's funny—a VTuber in a cartoon skin doing RP on another server.
"No job changes now. Stay true to the role."
Chatting like that, I drove wherever the road took me.
Before I knew it, I'd reached the map's outskirts.
"No calls out here."
"Calls here might mean surge pricing, double fare."
It's farther from the city center than I realized.
No passengers in spots like this?
"Why bring up fan cafe? Wanna fight?"
"Anyway, since we're here, let's sightsee the map."
The game this server's on is super famous.
But I only poked around it before, so map's new to me.
That's why I looped the city earlier.
"Where I go, that's the road."
What if it's not? Oh well.
Sedans weigh over a ton base.
Nature tries to block? This steel rhino plows through—that's a road.
Crunch! Creak!
I shoved past simple branches, navigating the narrow path.
It's designed to be passable, at least.
Probably for bikes originally.
"Ancestors handle repairs~"
Scratches from roadwork and branches, but no biggie.
In a rough city full of gangsters, car scars are badges of honor, right?
Even if from twigs, not bullets.
After bulldozing a bit more rough terrain, a lake popped up on the minimap.
"Lake here—can you fish?"
"For real?"
Heard it had high freedom—fishing's legit?
"Where to buy a rod?"
"Oh yeah?"
Fish sell for money?
Tempting.
Since we're here, why not fish a bit?
Parked the car, grabbed a basic rod and bait from the nearby convenience store.
"Kinda pricey."
"Even a life of speeding needs rest stops."
Rod and bait acquired.
Set up by the lake I'd spotted.
"Just a little fishing."
Basic bait, basic rod—not catching legends.
But sometimes you need this.
Three days into the large server.
Bottom line?
This game? Fishing's surprisingly fun.
Open-world emphasizing realism, maybe?
Tons of fish varieties to hook.
"Not the point—gizzard shad here pays big."
And decent money too.
Gizzard shad? Jackpot.
Way better than scraping taxi fares.
"No fisher job."
Would've considered it if there was.
By the way, I'm at the map's edge seaside now.
Breezy salt air off the wide ocean while fishing...
Monitor-bound, but chilling brings liberation.
Viewers probably frustrated, but my heart's calmer than ever.
And why not?
Viewers: 245
Large server pulled back most of my runaway viewers.
Mention worked—no lingering regrets.
Server prestige is real.
Familiar nicks returning fast, filling chat.
Bit early, but goal achieved.
"Gizzard shad time~"
Chilling guilt-free.
They said play free beforehand.
As long as RP holds, this fits server intent, right?
...Or not.
