“Ready?”
“Yeah.”
When we woke up that morning, we performed a little ritual we always did whenever we met after a long time apart. We checked Han Yuhyeon’s status window, and if she had leveled up, we picked a new trait together.
The glasses from the ruins that I used to wear had run out of charges, so I put on the spare pair I’d bought in advance and looked at her.

◆Star Energy Storage [Legacy]…
It hadn’t been that long since we last saw each other, but she must have been busy. Her level had gone up by one, and her Focus and Creativity stats had increased accordingly. The proficiency of her skills had also risen significantly. The rise in Knowledge was probably thanks to the level-up in Star Magic.
But there was one trait I hadn’t seen before… Star Energy Storage?
There were selection options listed below it, so it seemed like something she had gained from an event or an elixir.
“Yuhyeon.”
“Hm?”
“A new trait appeared.”
“Really…?”
Han Yuhyeon looked surprised because she couldn’t check her own traits. I focused on the Star Energy Storage trait to read the details.
[Legacy Trait]
A trait manifested when Star Magic reaches its foundational realm. Stores stellar energy within the body. In females, it is stored in the chest. In males, it is stored throughout the body’s muscles.
While stellar energy is stored, magic power increases by 30% and mental energy consumption during spellcasting decreases by 40%. Additional abilities are granted depending on the storage location.
Ah, that’s right. Some skills granted traits once they reached a certain proficiency level, and Star Magic was one of them. The common effects of increased power and reduced mental consumption were quite good. The gender-specific bonuses were interesting too. For men, stellar energy stored in the muscles boosted physical abilities. For women, it was stored in the chest, increasing Charm and Appearance stats.
That explained why Han Yuhyeon’s Appearance and Charm had each gone up by one… and why her breasts had gotten bigger. Her Charisma was linked to Charm, so that had risen along with it.
Come to think of it, this might actually be an insanely overpowered trait. In both The Youngest Son of a Japanese Conglomerate Family and Megacorp’s Youngest Son, there were countless traits and items, but very few that actually enlarged breasts. Of course you could get surgery, but there was something nice about a natural change, right?
“The new trait is called Star Energy Storage. It looks like that’s what made your chest grow…”
I explained the trait to her. After listening, Han Yuhyeon clapped her hands together as if she finally understood.
“Ah~! I thought I’d just gained weight. My chest got so much bigger lately that I had to replace all my bras. I was scared to check my weight, but since I needed new bras I figured I must have put on a few pounds…”
Even an incredibly beautiful woman like Han Yuhyeon worried a lot about her weight. Well, the more seriously you managed your appearance, the more attention you paid to those things.
“Relieved now?”
“Yeah. Hehe. By the way, did I level up?”
“You did. You worked hard.”
Leveling up naturally became harder the higher your level, so gaining even one level during the time we couldn’t meet was impressive. She probably hadn’t been running around committing murders, so she must have grown through company events.
In both TMC and Megacorp’s Youngest Son, the system was two-thirds battle and one-third management. There was also a system where you gained experience when companies registered under your name grew. Since Han Yuhyeon had a security company under her name, she must have leveled up through that.
Unfortunately, although I technically owned many companies, the most active ones—East Weapon and Seryu Military Company—were registered under Mimata Chieri and Sawayanagi Azuma respectively, so they didn’t contribute to my experience. I did have Hatake Investment, but it wasn’t very active, so the experience gain was minimal. Once the subsidiary Hatake Mining started seriously extracting mithril, that should start giving me decent experience. There was also TG-Tech that we co-owned, so my stagnant leveling speed should pick up soon.
“C-can you check the trait options for me?”
Han Yuhyeon stammered slightly, clearly excited. I nodded and selected the glowing trait selection window.
All three options were pretty good. Unlike me, who had the Yeouiju to reroll, Han Yuhyeon had no second chances, so getting a strong trait on the first try was crucial.
The first option, Star Coordinates Summon, allowed her to summon a beast from the ‘Star’ category that matched her existing traits. The second, Iron Blood Armor, increased base defense in proportion to Vitality. With her current Vitality of 9, she would gain considerable defensive power. The last one, Master of Manipulation, was the pinnacle trait for driving or riding. It let you operate anything at the highest possible level. It was extremely popular in both Megacorp’s Youngest Son and TMC, where driving came up often.
Hmm… they were all good. But the summons from Star Coordinates were all powerful with unique abilities. The problem was that they were simple summons, not Summoning Contracts. Since they belonged to the same Star category, they probably wouldn’t be hostile, but there was a chance they might not obey her orders. That would basically be wasting a level 1 trait…
I decided to explain everything to her first and let her make the choice.
“It’s a tough decision… Nero has been incredibly useful, and I’m sure whatever comes out of these Star Coordinates will be useful too, but if it won’t listen to me…”
Han Yuhyeon pulled Nero out from the shadows and stroked the back of his neck. It was surreal to watch a leopard the size of a house close its eyes and purr contentedly under her touch, but Nero seemed to like me quite a bit too. Maybe because we were both shadow-type, or maybe because I carried terrifying traits like the Brand of the Abyss’s Daughter.
“I’ll eliminate Master of Manipulation first. I can just hire a good driver.”
As expected, her standards were different from mine, which were based on the game. If something could be solved with money, she gave it a low score. Having grown used to riding in cars driven by chauffeurs as a company president, the trait didn’t seem very appealing to her. From her perspective, she could simply hire someone skilled at driving.
After thinking it over between Star Coordinates and Iron Blood Armor, she ultimately chose Star Coordinates. Her reasoning was that Iron Blood Armor could be replaced by the combat suits TG-Tech would be producing in the future. She mentioned that I had stolen secret data from BS Group and they were currently building a factory based on it. It seemed she had grown quite attached to the summoning category after seeing how useful Nero was.
Well, even if the Star Coordinates trait ended up being a dud, we had gained Star Energy Storage for free this time, so it would balance out.
“Got it. I’ll go with Star Coordinates then.”
The moment she selected Star Coordinates, the air inside the hotel room trembled. The space in front of Han Yuhyeon split open with a loud crack. Through the rift, a beautiful nebula embroidered with light against a dark void came into view. A brighter white light was flying toward us from between the stars.
What emerged from the dimensional gap was a dog made of light, roughly the same size as Nero. It looked like a Samoyed…? It was a glowing dog, but strangely the light didn’t hurt to look at. I could stare at it without any discomfort. Since I was still wearing the ruins glasses, I focused on the dog—or rather, the hound—that had come out of the rift.
A Star White Hound… It was my first time seeing this summon too. Han Yuhyeon stared intently at the hound, then took some dog food out of her bag. Why on earth was she carrying around large-breed kibble?
“Want something tasty?”
“Woof!”
At her words, the Star White Hound wagged its tail like a helicopter propeller and barked excitedly. A dog the size of Nero barking sounded a bit threatening, but I didn’t sense any malice from the creature. Only Nero had his fur standing on end, growling.
When Han Yuhyeon poured the large-breed kibble into a dog bowl, the Star White Hound dashed over and began devouring it with loud crunching sounds.
“…But why do you carry dog food around?”
“It’s Nero’s favorite brand.”
First a shadow leopard, now a light dog—both liked the same brand… I should buy some stock in that company later. It was impressive.
Nero kept growling at the dog that was frantically eating his snack, but when Han Yuhyeon filled another bowl with kibble for him, he started chomping down as if he couldn’t lose.
“Woof!”
“Aww~! So cute! Your name is now White Bear! Okay?”
“Woof! Woof!”
After finishing the entire bowl of food, the Star White Hound wagged its tail at Han Yuhyeon and barked happily. Just to be sure, I examined the dog once more.
I had assumed that even if she chose this summoning trait, the odds of forming a master-servant contract were extremely low. Yet here she was, becoming White Bear’s master right away. It was unbelievable. In the game, the probability had been ridiculously low too.
While I was still stunned, I remembered Han Yuhyeon’s special stat—Luck. It was a whopping 18… With that kind of monstrous luck, something like this could definitely happen.
