Married Woman... Actually a Virgin?
In front of me sat the realtor lady, who had changed into comfortable clothes that were a bit surprisingly casual. A can of cool soda was placed there, and for a while, silence stretched on without a single word.
"Um, are you alright, sir?"
She broke the ice first, and I could see her fingertips trembling faintly.
Yeah, well, she wouldn't even know it was me. Just some random stranger to her. No, but showing a customer a sight like that—her reaction was only natural.
"Outside, you probably couldn't see anything. The door wasn't open, and the windows were mostly covered."
I comforted her, pretending I knew nothing even though I'd done it.
"Ah, um... yes, I'm fine. Sorry for startling you."
The service industry sure is tough. Even in her own dire situation, she had to comfort the customer first. And here I was, the one who'd created that situation, receiving her apology—my mood was strangely complicated.
"No, no... haha."
Another awkward laugh, followed by silence. More silence. Silence upon silence... Ah, maybe I should've just regressed right then...
Suddenly, regret flooded in like a wave. I should've used regression to leave her a virgin forever. Then I could've deflowered her again next time. Damn, thinking about it now, I was the idiot...
"Ah, right. So, um, did you come here for something...?"
"Ah... yeah, I'm thinking about moving and wanted to check out houses in person before deciding."
Finally, the conversation turned to business, and she started spilling words like a dam breaking.
"I see. Do you have any specific conditions in mind?"
"Well... I've thought about it a lot, but nothing's set in stone. Could you show me a variety?"
The trickiest kind of customer—one who could turn into a nightmare if mishandled. I knew that much. But what could I do? She really couldn't decide, and if there was a good place nearby, that'd be fine. Just go with that.
"No particular budget or size in mind...?"
"Nope, nothing at all..."
"Hmm, what's your maximum budget, then?"
Maximum budget, huh. I had about 1.1 billion won left in hand... Maybe aim for around 1 billion? The next lottery would hit anyway, so the amount itself didn't matter much.
Still, better to hold onto at least 100 million for peace of mind. I hadn't handled big money that long, so some petty bourgeois mindset lingered.
"Around 1 billion..."
"One billion? So, you're thinking jeonse?"
"Ah, yep."
I knew it was a tricky amount for buying outright. Plus, I'd lived in Seoul forever with no plans to own here. My goal was a countryside house later, living simply, healing with nature.
"That budget opens up plenty of options. How many people will be living there?"
She switched to full professional mode the moment business came up—impressive. Even right after that incident.
This must be what they mean by true pro.
"Ah, just me."
"Got it—solo living, around 1 billion budget. How many rooms would you like?"
Honestly, one was plenty, but since we're at it, maybe set up a PC bang-style room? And separate the clothes storage? Nah, no need, but...
"Around three would be nice. Two's fine too."
The closet was basically disposable anyway—two would suffice.
"Two- or three-room place. Location?"
"Not too far from this neighborhood... um, the school's nearby."
And the lady here would need to come over now and then for some fun. I swallowed my true intentions and spoke innocently.
"Two- or three-room in this area—apartment or officetel?"
"Apartment, please. Thinking of remodeling and furnishing it myself."
Talking with a pro really streamlined things. If I'd known it'd shape up this fast from vague ideas, I'd have come sooner.
"New build would be best, right?"
"Yeah, sure. Good soundproofing too."
My current rundown studio in a villa block had poor insulation. Even with some padding, noise from neighbors above or below kept me up sometimes.
"Any other conditions?"
"Hmm, pet-friendly would be nice."
No actual pets planned, but with all these bitches around, better if it didn't matter if they howled. I'd make sure they yipped plenty, heh heh.
"Planning to get a dog or cat?"
"Haha, yeah, something like that."
Dogs are dogs, even if bitches, right?
"Alright, I'll check for places matching that and get back to you. Can I have your contact?"
I exchanged numbers and left the office. Figured she'd show rooms right away, but the conditions were trickier than expected. She'd scout a few spots and call, so I headed home.
"Since I'm out, and it's boring... anywhere fun to kill time?"
Yoonah was tied up with shoots. Friends? We didn't meet that often anyway—could skip for now.
"Hmm, come to think of it, there was something I had to do by tomorrow."
Felt like I'd forgotten something important. Couldn't pin it down no matter how I racked my brain, but it nagged at me uncomfortably.
