Crossing the Line
"This actually works...?"
I muttered to myself in disbelief. It felt way too easy—better than I'd even hoped. But if it's this straightforward, why bother with patterns in the first place? Psychological trap, maybe?
"Ah, our dad uses the same pattern too..."
Yesuh hugged her knees, looking thoughtful. "What could it be, really? Some kind of psychology thing? Will I get it when I'm that age...?"
"Probably..."
Of course she wouldn't deny it. It was just me being a bit sad about it. I fiddled with the phone, a touch of melancholy settling in. In that instant, just as I was about to shut it off—having found nothing despite the easy password making the whole security feel like a fake—something caught my eye.
"Telegram?"
Jackpot. I'd only checked KakaoTalk, so no wonder it was a waste. But diving into Telegram revealed exactly what I'd been hoping for, plus a ton of other pattern info packed in.
"Hmm... jackpot?"
Gems, mines—whatever it was, the sheer volume made me grin. My mood soared. Should I screenshot this and send it to myself before deleting? Would Telegram even allow screenshots?
"It works fine."
Even with top-notch security, they hadn't blocked screenshots. What good is security then? "Tch, tsk. Foreign apps are sloppy too."
I snapped shots of the dirtiest stuff, transferring them via USB to the rep's computer. Not content with crude sexual remarks about kids, there were names of sleazy assemblymen demanding immediate sex services, all laid bare.
"Screenshots might not cut it. Should I just take the whole phone?"
But a sudden theft would make them delete everything and deny it all. How to get perfect evidence? For now, I cracked open the other phones one by one, slowly gathering proof.
Patterns emerged clearly as I dug in. "These are assemblymen, those are big corp tycoons..." The remaining phones seemed to belong to the rep's buddies. Searching Telegram for these folks pulled up names plastered across portals—people who'd definitely made the news.
Our country... how deep does the rot go? It was starting to make me curious.
"Whoa... this guy! He's super famous on YouTube lately."
Yesuh gaped at one of the discoveries, her mouth wide in shock.
"That famous?"
"Yeah, known for being super clean, skilled, and kind."
His face was handsome enough that the image fit. But behind the scenes? Telegram chats detailed him sucking and fucking young girls, demanding sex setups. "This would flip everything upside down."
There were so many figures who could shake the nation. "This could blow up bigger than I thought..."
I'd started this just to help Yoonah save her precious junior from sex trafficking. But stumbling on these heavy hitters sent chills down my spine.
"I'm so sorry for dragging you into this..."
Yesuh bowed her head like she'd committed a crime. Seeing her snapped me back to reality.
"Nah, it's fine. Totally fine. I'll handle it all."
Humans can't defy time. But me? I could stop and wield it at will. So yeah, the board was stacked in my favor overall. Just had to watch for backstabs like last time.
"Unnie Yoonah really has a great guy by her side."
She smiled at me warmly.
"Nah, Yoonah's the real gem here."
Me? Honestly... my conscience was prickling a bit. Heh. "Not me— from what I see, Oppa, you're plenty good too! Stepping up without hesitation."
"Yeah... maybe."
Sure, whatever. Haha. Anyway, up till now, I'd only screwed over thugs... and regressed everything for normal folks, right...? Wait, no. "Haha, yeah... gotta live... nicer from now on... haha..."
Truth was, with Yoonah around lately, I hadn't dwelled on it. But later? I was planning a Japan trip to sample some AV stars.
"Ahem. Alright, this should do it."
I'd grabbed enough evidence from the phones, copied to multiple USBs, and wiped the originals clean—no traces left. The sheer volume was insane, plus I'd snagged the recorder and camera earlier. Time remaining: about 10 minutes.
Time to reset everything and bail.
"Alright, Yesuh. Let's go."
"Yes!"
Nothing major touched. The key in my inner pocket was the biggest issue, but no one would notice that quick glimpse.
No way they'd suspect a thing in that split second. Just figured she got tired and dozed off.
