Always the Guilty One
A rustle in the dark. I cracked my eyes open and felt it at once — someone was standing in front of my desk.
I already knew who.
The fucking bitch I hated more than anyone else in this world.
"The hell are you doing..."
I kept it cool. Detached. So goddamn charismatic...
She turned around like nothing in the world was wrong, still sliding a fifty-thousand-won bill out of the wallet she'd been digging through.
????????
That was my wallet.
"Oppa, you must be tired from being out, right?? Go back to sleep a little longer~"
The way she said it. All sweetness. All warmth.
You've probably figured it out by now. That bitch is my little sister. The shameless piece of shit, casually lifting cash from my wallet like she owned the place.
"Put it down. Put it back where you found it..."
I dropped my voice as low as it would go, laying on every ounce of older-brother authority I had. The weight. The intimidation. So goddamn charismatic... That ought to do it. She'd piss herself and walk right out.
"...Oppa, you look so fucking pathetic."
.............
And then the bitch just kept stuffing the money away, unhurried, unbothered.
"I said put it back. You think your brother's a joke!?"
How dare she. To me. Her older brother. The sky over her goddamn head. And she calls me a pathetic loser?
She ignored me completely. Stepped over to the mirror in my room, fixed her clothes, and started for the door — then glanced back, her eyes curving into a little smile.
"Oppa~ Ji-eunie used up all her allowance and doesn't have any money to go out~~ So you'll lend it to me, riiight~♡"
She was so fucking pretty.
Well, if her allowance ran out, I guess there's nothing I can do about it. Yeah. Yeah...
The hell was I thinking. Fuck.
"You took money last time too! Did you even pay that back or not!!"
Once or twice, I could've been generous. I could've let it go. But this crazy bitch had done it five times. Five goddamn times she'd gone through my wallet while I was asleep.
I snapped at her dead serious — and the warmth in my sister's eyes flipped into something that made my blood run cold.
"...So what."
Listen to the mouth on this girl...
I was about to let something ugly fly when she opened hers first.
She's right.
In front of this girl, I am always — always — the guilty one.
